What happens to Timmy in the main ending?
When Eric activates the Power Obelisk, the artifact brings down a passing plane. Eric apparently uses a child from that plane as the sacrifice needed to revive Timmy. The ending therefore gives Eric his son back, but at the cost of the lives aboard the plane.

A year later, Timmy appears with Eric at a talk show. During the appearance, Timmy has a seizure. Eric comforts him, and Timmy appears to recover in that scene. The ending does not explain why the seizure subsides or establish whether Eric’s actions prevent or merely delay further effects.
What does the post-credits scene show?
The post-credits scene jumps forward to adult Timmy. He is investigating an island marked “Site 2” and shows symptoms associated with mutation. The scene suggests the consequences of his revival have not simply disappeared, but it does not show him completing a transformation.

His ultimate fate is unresolved by the scenes described here: they do not confirm that he becomes a monster, dies, or is cured. The sequence shows him investigating the danger, not its final outcome.
What happens in the alternate ending?
If Eric shuts down the artifact instead of activating it, he spares the people aboard the plane, but Timmy remains dead. Eric burns Timmy’s photo, and gameplay returns to the island. This ending does not include the talk-show scene or the adult Timmy post-credits sequence.

What the ending leaves unanswered
The scenes connect Timmy’s revival with later mutation symptoms, but do not explain the process or its eventual result. A community question about “older mutant Timmy” reflects a common interpretation of the apartment scene, not confirmation that he is fully transformed. The ending itself stops short of resolving his condition.
