The best Xbox Game Pass games right now are the ones that are in your plan, on your platform, and in your region at the moment you check. Game Pass rotates, so a fixed list goes stale quickly. This guide shows you how to confirm what is included today, which plan gives you what, and how to choose titles that fit the way you play. It was checked against Xbox’s official Game Pass information in early October 2026.
Why this guide does not name a fixed must-play list
Xbox states that the number of games, the titles themselves, features, and availability change over time and vary by region, plan, and platform. A title that is a standout pick this month can be leaving next month, and a game that appears in one country’s catalog may be absent in another. We could not confirm the current inclusion status of individual games from the sources we checked, so we are not presenting a list of titles as “included right now.” What follows is the method for building that list yourself, along with the plan details you need to make the check meaningful.
How to confirm what is in the library today
- Open the official Game Pass games catalog on Xbox’s website. Use the catalog page, not a third-party list or a social post, because only the official catalog reflects current membership.
- Set the subscription filter to your plan. Choose the tier you actually pay for. A game shown in Ultimate may not appear for Essential or Premium subscribers.
- Set the platform filter. Select console, PC, or a supported device. Membership and features can differ by platform, so a PC result does not confirm console availability.
- Check the collections. The catalog offers Most popular, Recently added, Coming to Game Pass, Leaving soon, and Play day one. Leaving soon is the fastest way to catch a title you want before it rotates out.
- Confirm your region. Catalog contents and plan availability vary by country. If a game is listed but you cannot launch it, check the regional settings on your account and the store.
- Note the date you checked. If you are recommending or buying based on the catalog, record the plan, platform, and date so you can recheck later.
What each Game Pass plan includes
Xbox’s current Game Pass overview describes four offerings. The catalog sizes below are figures Xbox publishes for each plan; they are the company’s own counts, not independently verified title totals, and they can change.
| Plan | Catalog size (Xbox-stated) | New releases | Other listed benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | 500+ games across console, PC, and supported devices | Day-one releases | Cloud gaming on supported devices, in-game benefits, Fortnite Crew, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics |
| Game Pass Premium | 200+ games | Xbox-published new games join the library within one year (not day one) | Not stated in the overview for this comparison |
| Game Pass Essential | 50+ games | No day-one new releases | Not stated in the overview for this comparison |
| PC Game Pass | 300+ games on PC | Day-one titles | In-game benefits, EA Play |
Two things matter most when you compare these. First, Ultimate is the only tier that combines day-one releases with the largest catalog and cloud gaming on supported devices. Second, Essential and Premium are not interchangeable: Premium’s catalog is four times the size of Essential’s, but neither gives you day-one access to new releases. If the game you want is brand new, check whether your tier has day-one access before assuming it is in your library.

Prices and offers
In a US plan-comparison page checked in early October 2026, Game Pass Ultimate was listed at $22.99 per month. Introductory offers and regional pricing also appear on Xbox’s comparison pages. Treat that figure as a snapshot for one market at one time: prices, promotions, and what a trial includes change, and the checkout terms are what apply when you subscribe.
How to choose the best titles for you
Once you have filtered the live catalog, use these criteria to narrow the list. The filters tell you what is available; they do not rank quality, so the quality judgment is yours to make, or to borrow from reviews you trust.
Rank #2
- Versatile compatibility: supports Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One X/S consoles and PC Win10 and above (including the game platform Steam).
- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
- Genre and play style. Sort candidates into categories such as action, role-playing, strategy, sports, or puzzle. A “best of” list is more useful when each pick is labeled by the kind of play it offers.
- Multiplayer and co-op. Use the multiplayer filter if you plan to play with friends. Check whether the mode is online-only and whether it needs a separate subscription.
- Accessibility. The PC browse page includes accessibility filters. If you rely on options such as subtitles, remapping, or visual aids, filter by them before committing to a title.
- Technical features and handheld support. On PC, the browse page includes technical-feature and handheld-compatibility filters. Confirm these before buying hardware or planning portable play.
- Newly added or leaving soon. A recently added title may be worth trying now, while a leaving-soon title is worth finishing first.
When a game you expected is missing
- It is not in the catalog for your plan. Switch the subscription filter to see whether it is in a higher tier. If it is new, check whether your tier includes day-one releases.
- It is listed but does not launch on your device. Confirm the platform filter matches the device you are using. A PC listing does not mean console access.
- It was recently listed as leaving soon. Membership can end on the date shown in the catalog, so start the game early if you want to finish it.
- It is missing from the catalog entirely. Check your region, then recheck the official catalog later. Membership changes over time.
