Sythra’s Amulet Fragment quest in Fisch is a ten-lantern objective in the Cultist Lair. Talk to Sythra to start it and receive Sythra’s Candle (also called Sythra’s Wick). Equip the candle, light all ten lanterns, and return to Sythra to claim the Amulet Fragment. One lantern sits on a raised ledge that the detailed route says you reach with a glider.
How the quest works
- Speak with Sythra in the Passage of Oaths area of the Cultist Lair. The conversation starts the quest and gives you Sythra’s Candle, also called Sythra’s Wick.
- Equip the candle before approaching any lantern. The walkthroughs use the candle as the tool for lighting each lantern.
- Walk up to each lantern with the candle equipped and use the interact action. The guides name the E key on keyboard.
- Check the in-game quest count as you go. It should reach 10/10 after the final lantern.
- Take the elevator back to Sythra and claim Sythra’s Amulet Fragment.
What you need
- Sythra’s Candle / Wick: received from Sythra when the quest begins. You cannot light lanterns without it equipped.
- A glider: needed for one lantern only, the ninth on the raised Passage of Oaths ledge, according to All Things How’s January 24, 2026 route guide.
- Keyboard E: the interact key named in the walkthroughs. The sources do not cover controller or other input mappings.
- No real-world purchase. The candle, glider and lanterns are all in-game items.
Lantern-by-lantern route
The landmarks below come from All Things How’s detailed route. They are third-party navigation cues, not verified coordinates, and they may no longer match the game after later updates. Use them alongside the quest count.

Why guides disagree on room counts
Every walkthrough agrees there are ten lanterns. They do not agree on how the ten are grouped by room. All Things How places two in the starting area, four in Hall of Whispers, three in Passage of Oaths and one on the final floor. Beebom (November 9, 2025) and Stealthy Gaming (November 10, 2025) summarize the lanterns as three rooms of two, four and four. Stealthy Gaming’s placement description also puts all four of its lanterns in Sythra’s room. Follow the numbered landmark route rather than a room summary, and use the quest count to confirm you have found all ten. The final-floor lantern is the one most often missed, because it sits outside the three named rooms.
If a lantern does not respond
- Check the candle first. If the candle is not equipped, the interaction will not light the lantern.
- Get close to the landmark. Each cue places the lantern beside a specific object, such as a pillar, statue, rock or root, so stand near that object rather than the general area.
- Use a glider for lantern 9. The ledge is above the start of the Passage of Oaths fishing pool. If you cannot reach it on foot, that is expected.
- Recount after lantern 10. If the quest count stalls below 10/10, a lantern was skipped. Recheck the Hall of Whispers and Passage of Oaths lanterns before returning to the final floor.
- Expect drift after updates. If the landmarks no longer match what you see, treat the route as outdated and check the Fisch Wiki for current placements.
After the lanterns are lit
Return to Sythra to claim the Amulet Fragment. All Things How describes the fragment as part of Dreamer’s Amulet progression, and it contributes to deeper Cultist Lair progression. The Fisch Wiki, a community reference rather than an official developer source, describes Hall of Whispers, Passage of Oaths and the Sanctum as successive sub-locations. It states that access to the Sanctum depends on completing the questlines and having the Dreamer’s Amulet.

No official developer statement on these details was located. These dates are publication dates, not game update dates, so the layout may have changed since. Treat the landmark cues as a guide to where lanterns were reported, and confirm against the in-game quest count.
