There is not enough verified historical evidence to name and rank the nine youngest EA Sports Team of the Year (TOTY) players. The available official sources explain how TOTY works and show that its format has changed, but they do not provide a complete set of annual rosters paired with verified birth dates. Naming a “youngest” player—or publishing a ranked nine—without that comparison would be guesswork.
What Team of the Year means in EA football games
EA’s TOTY is an annual feature in its FIFA and EA SPORTS FC football games, selecting players for recognition based on their performances in the preceding year. EA describes community voting as shaping the teams. The official FC 26 TOTY page presents the selected team and a 12th-player slot; EA’s January 15, 2026 announcement supplies the current-edition context.

Why a historical youngest-nine ranking needs clear rules
TOTY has not had exactly the same scope in every edition. EA said FIFA 22 fans voted from 80 nominees to form the starting XI (EA’s FIFA 22 announcement). With EA SPORTS FC 24, EA announced the first Women’s TOTY Final XI (EA’s January 19, 2024 announcement). Later selections such as a 12th player also raise a question about who belongs in an all-time comparison.
A defensible ranking would need to say whether it includes men’s and women’s teams, 12th-player selections, captains, and other special selections. It would also need to compare each player’s age on a consistent date—ideally the official roster announcement date—using verified birth dates, then sort by exact age rather than rounded years.

What can be verified—and what cannot
The official sources establish the award’s voting format and some edition-specific selections, but they do not form a complete historical roster-and-birth-date dataset. The historical overview sources located for the subject do not establish ages or a youngest-player order either. Therefore, the identity of the youngest TOTY player and the requested top nine remain unverified here. No player names, ages, or ranking positions can responsibly be supplied from this evidence.

How a reliable ranking should be built
- Set the scope: specify the editions included and whether the comparison covers men’s teams, women’s teams, 12th players, and special designations.
- Compile each edition’s official roster and record the announcement date. If an early edition has no verifiable announcement date, state a consistent alternative reference date, such as the first day the roster became available in-game.
- Verify each player’s date of birth against reliable sources, calculate age on the chosen reference date, and rank the candidates by years, months, and days.
- Publish the underlying edition, team category, selection status, and dates alongside each ranked result so readers can check the comparison.
