How the Solar Shield works
The Solar Shield is a corral upgrade that casts dim shade over the enclosure to protect light-sensitive slimes, according to the community-maintained Corral entry. It does not need an Air Net to operate. The shield’s described role is shade from sunlight, not protection from escape, hunger, or other hazards.
Where to keep Phosphor Slimes
- Outdoor corral: Install the Solar Shield upgrade to shade Phosphors from sunlight.
- Dark location: You can avoid the upgrade if the slimes are kept somewhere that remains dark. The references cited here do not identify every safe location or specify its lighting conditions, so check the in-game Slimepedia and observe the ranch area.
