Rosary Cannon location: where to find it on the map
Look for the Rosary Bank in High Halls, just west of Ventrica Station. The room is behind a breakable wall and a door that requires a Simple Key. Guides describe the approach using slightly different landmarks, so follow the hidden route into the locked room rather than relying on an exact map coordinate.
Once inside, reach the area below the rosary stringing machine. Strike the mechanism there with the Needle; it drops the Rosary Cannon as a collectible.
How to get the Rosary Cannon
- Reach High Halls. Travel to the Rosary Bank near Ventrica Station.
- Open the locked room. Break through the wall and use a Simple Key on the door.
- Find the lower hidden route. Follow it to the space beneath the rosary stringing machine.
- Break the mechanism. Hit it with the Needle to make the Rosary Cannon drop, then collect it.
Nintendo Life’s tool guide also places the cannon behind a Simple Key-locked door near Ventrica Station. A High Halls area guide describes a lower secret route and a breakable hanging tube; the reliable landmarks are the locked room, hidden route, and breakable mechanism.

What does the Rosary Cannon do?
It fires Rosaries as projectiles. The Hollow Knight Wiki lists a capacity of 80 Rosaries and an approximate firing rate of 10 Rosaries per second while the Tool/skill input is held. These are community-wiki game-mechanics figures, not independently published official specifications.
Firing also has a positioning cost: according to the wiki, Hornet remains still and experiences recoil while using the cannon. That can make sustained fire risky if enemies are close or you need to reposition quickly.

How to reload the Rosary Cannon
The cannon does not automatically refill like some Tools. Rest at a bench, select the Rosary Cannon in the inventory, then hold the attack input to reload. Nintendo Life describes holding Y on the equipment screen, but button assignments vary by platform and configuration; use the attack control assigned in your game.
Tips for managing ammunition and currency
- Spend deliberately. Rosaries are both currency and cannon ammunition. Avoid firing casually when you need your balance for purchases or travel.
- Reload before relying on it. A bench visit is required, so check your ammunition before setting out to use the cannon.
- Account for death. The community wiki says Rosaries are lost on death, which can leave you short of ammunition after respawning. It names Dead Bug’s Purse, Rosary Strings, and consuming a Silkeater as ways to mitigate that risk.
- Experiment with tool combinations. The wiki lists Magnetite Brooch as helping collect fired Rosaries, Thief’s Mark as increasing ammunition collection, and Pollip Pouch as adding poison damage over time. Treat these as build options to test, not a proven best setup.
When is the Rosary Cannon worth using?
Consider the trade-off in terms of ammunition cost, access to a bench for manual reloading, firing behavior, and whether you can preserve or collect Rosaries effectively. The available guides do not quantify how the cannon performs against other Tools or establish a universally best choice, so its value depends on your build, currency needs, and willingness to stand your ground while firing.
