Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh Global ran on February 24 and 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, and it was free for all Trainers. That event is now over, so this guide is a retrospective. It covers the Global event window, the Special Research story that ran with it, and the lead-up Road to Sinnoh event. It also states plainly what could not be verified about the Global habitat schedule, so no one relies on guessed hours or spawn lists.
When the Tour and its lead-up event ran
The Tour and the event that preceded it were two separate events with separate windows. Both are closed.

The dates and hours above come from the official Pokémon GO announcement published on February 19, 2024, titled “Embark on a Sinnoh-inspired adventure during the Road to Sinnoh event!” That announcement is the primary source for the Road to Sinnoh window and for the Global event’s dates and hours.
Habitat times for the Global Tour
The complete official habitat schedule for the Global event is not confirmed in this guide. The Road to Sinnoh announcement covers the lead-up event, not the Global Tour, so it cannot be used to fill in Global habitat hours. The official event page that would have listed them could not be checked.
#1 Best Overall
- The packaging is Japanese, but item works the same as the US version.
- Catch Pokémon and track your rest rhythm with the Pokémon GO Plus + accessory!
- Keep track of your sleep with the press of a button
- Press and hold the central button on the Pokémon GO Plus + accessory and place it by your pillow to track your rest rhythm on the Pokémon Sleep app
- There’s a Pikachu within your Pokémon GO Plus + that can sing you lullabies and act as your morning alarm; Pikachu grows friendlier the more you sleep, unlocking even more sounds!
What can be stated with confidence:
- The Global event’s play window was 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on each of its two days. Habitat activity fell within that window, but this guide does not confirm the individual rotation times inside it.
- No habitat-by-habitat Pokémon list is confirmed here. Any specific habitat names, hourly intervals, or spawn lists published elsewhere should be checked against an archived official Pokémon GO news post or an in-game record from those dates before they are treated as accurate.
Special Research: “GO Tour 2024: It’s about Time (and Space)”
The Global event’s exclusive Special Research story, titled “GO Tour 2024: It’s about Time (and Space),” is described in a Pokémon GO Hub guide dated February 24, 2024. The details below come from that secondary guide and are attributed to it. The story split into two versions, Diamond and Pearl, and the choice determined which legendary Pokémon and which mechanic the story used.
Diamond and Pearl branches
| Branch | Focus legendary | Signature mechanic | Shadow encounters named in the guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diamond | Dialga | Roar of Time | Shadow Scizor and Shadow Honchkrow |
| Pearl | Palkia | Spacial Rend | Shadow Pinsir and Shadow Mismagius |
Choosing a starter partner
Players picked one of three starters as a partner: Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup. According to the guide, the chosen partner Pokémon appeared more often from Incense. The guide also says the opponent in Giovanni’s second slot depended on which partner was chosen.

- Spin PokéStops or throw Poké Balls automatically in Pokémon GO for hands-free gameplay (and Great Balls and Ultra Balls can be thrown too!)
The task outline
The guide’s four-stage outline lists the following task types. It does not assign each task to a single stage, so they are listed here in the order the guide grouped them:
- Catch 15 Pokémon that were originally discovered in Sinnoh.
- Use Incense.
- Catch the legendary Pokémon matching your branch (Dialga or Palkia).
- Power up Dragon-type Pokémon 10 times.
- Evolve three Pokémon.
- Activate Roar of Time (Diamond) or Spacial Rend (Pearl).
- Purify one, then two, then three Shadow Pokémon.
- Defeat Giovanni in the final battle.
The Giovanni battle and reward
The story ended with a Giovanni battle. According to the guide, defeating Giovanni earned Shadow Regigigas as the reward encounter. Because this detail comes from one secondary guide, treat it as the guide’s account rather than an official statement.

Road to Sinnoh: lead-up tickets and Timed Research
Road to Sinnoh was a separate event from the Global Tour. It offered optional paid ticket tracks, each listed in the official announcement at US$5 or the local equivalent. Those ticket purchases and the lead-up Timed Research windows have expired.
Raids track
- Dialga and Palkia Candy.
- Candy XL for Heatran, Giratina, Cresselia, and Darkrai.
- An Eevee Fan Mask.
- Extra raid XP and an extra raid-catch Candy.
- Two additional daily Raid Passes.
Hatch track
- Encounters with Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine.
- A Pikachu Fan Mask.
- Double hatch XP, Candy, and Stardust.
Lead-up Timed Research and Field Research
The official announcement says Tour-themed Timed Research during Road to Sinnoh included encounters with Heatran, Origin Forme Giratina, Cresselia, and Darkrai. Tour-themed Field Research tasks ran throughout the lead-up event and awarded preparation items. These activities belong to Road to Sinnoh, not to the Global Tour’s Special Research story. Timed Research rewards had to be claimed before Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The Bottom Line
Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh Global was a free, two-day event on February 24 and 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. The Special Research story was split into Diamond (Dialga) and Pearl (Palkia) branches. The full official Global habitat schedule is not confirmed in this guide, so readers should check archived official Pokémon GO news for habitat hours rather than relying on unverified summaries.
