What was the ShackStream about?
In an announcement published October 8, 2026, Shacknews said Jan Ole Peek and friends had access to the DayZ Badlands playtest and planned to visit Nasdara for the first time. The article framed the session as an exploratory outing: the group intended to go in blind, explore during the evening and following days, and look for interactions with other players.

What did the announcement say about Badlands’ release?
The October 8 announcement said Badlands was expected to release on October 15, 2026, describing it as “just a week away.” Treat that as the date Shacknews gave at the time, not confirmation that the release occurred. The Steam DayZ listing identifies Badlands as downloadable content and displayed it as “Coming Soon” on the page reviewed; that listing does not establish the final release outcome, price, or contents.

Steam identifies Bohemia Interactive as both the developer and publisher of DayZ and describes it as a multiplayer survival sandbox. Its listing presents Badlands as DLC for the game. The Shacknews announcement focused on the playtest stream rather than providing a complete feature list or confirmed details about platforms, regional availability, or final DLC content.
