Option 1: Try the Game.ini workaround
A Steam comments page reproduces a message attributed to the developers’ Discord. It describes this workaround, while warning that it is unsupported and not guaranteed. The repost is not a direct official documentation page.
- Close the game.
- Open or create %localappdata%\Ride\Saved\Config\Windows\Game.ini.
- Add these lines:

MaxPlayers=5
- Save the file and launch the game again.
- If the change causes problems, remove the added lines.

Option 2: Use the MoreRVers mod
MoreRVers describes itself as a runtime mod that raises the default four-player cap. Its documentation says the host installs it, it uses UE4SS, and the player count can be configured. The documentation lists eight as its default and recommended setting, with a configurable range up to 24; these are mod documentation claims, not independently tested performance limits. [c002][c003]
The repository documents a package that includes UE4SS and a mod-only package for users who already have UE4SS installed. For the mod-only route, its instructions describe placing the mod in the game’s Win64 UE4SS Mods folder, enabling it in mods.txt, editing the mod’s config.ini, and restarting the game. Which method should you choose?
