According to that guide, Rune Brokers in race capitals offer an alternate way to obtain Class Runes and Class Skill Books. Some discovery routes or rune-related quests may not work properly after learning an ability from a purchased rune item, so check current in-game behavior if a quest step fails.

Helm runes
Shield Mastery
Shield Mastery increases physical damage by 10% while you have a shield equipped and reduces the duration of Disarm effects by 50%. The Wowhead guide says the rune is sold by the Emerald Wardens at Friendly reputation for 1 gold.
Taste for Blood
Each time Rend deals damage, Taste for Blood makes Overpower usable for 9 seconds or one attack. This effect can occur no more than once every 6 seconds.

The reported discovery route uses four appendages from the Searing Gorge Slag Pits area. Wowhead lists these locations:
- Giant Golem Foot: inside the Slag Pits, /way 43 32.3.
- Giant Golem Arm: in the Incendosaur cave below the Slag Pits, /way 49.4 37.1.
- Giant Golem Foot: at the back of that cave, /way 42.6 30.
- Giant Golem Arm: /way 42 44.
Use the collected appendages at the stone head of the Obliterator at /way 65 45 to summon the elite giant, according to the guide.
Vigilance
Vigilance focuses on one party or raid member for 30 minutes. The target takes 3% less damage, 10% of their threat is transferred to you, and your Taunt cooldown refreshes whenever the target is hit.

Bracer runes
Rampage
Rampage is usable only while Enraged and increases attack power by 15% for 30 seconds. The reported route is to defeat the level 43 elite Ogre Ohk’zi in the Gordunni Outpost cave north of Camp Mojache in Feralas, around /way 74.8 24.9.
Sword and Board
When Devastate or Revenge deals damage, Sword and Board has a 30% chance to refresh Shield Slam’s cooldown and reduce its Rage cost by 100% for 5 seconds. The guide says to start The Wild Gods from the Shadowtooth Emissary at Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood, around /way 51.5 82.

Wrecking Crew
Melee critical hits with Wrecking Crew Enrage you, activating abilities that require Enrage, and increase Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, and Shield Slam damage by 10% for 12 seconds.
- In the Hinterlands, kill trolls northwest of Shadra’Alor until the Geode Hammer drops. The guide points to lower-level targets around /way 24 58 at Hiri’Watha.
- Equip the hammer and keep attacking until it breaks into a Broken Geode Hammer.
- Open the Broken Geode Hammer to obtain the rune.
Boot rune
Gladiator Stance
Gladiator Stance requires a shield. It increases damage and block chance by 10%, reduces armor and threat generated by 30%, and grants 50% more Rage from auto-attacks against enemies that are not targeting you. While in Gladiator Stance with a shield equipped, you can use abilities restricted to other stances.
The Wowhead guide reports this acquisition route and warns that grouping during the quest series may bug the chain:

- First, kill the two earlier Wandering Swordsmen associated with Blood Frenzy (Phase 1) and Rallying Cry (Phase 2).
- Start The Old Champ from Fizbuz Mithril in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, at /way 51.6 27.6.
- Speak to Kajind in Azshara at /way 25.4 66.2.
- Defeat Ceruleos north of Lake Mennar, around /way 39.4 72.4.
- Return to Kajind and then Fizbuz, then return and defeat Kajind for the rune and a two-handed sword.
Choosing between the runes
The effects suggest different uses rather than one universal setup. Shield Mastery and Gladiator Stance explicitly depend on having a shield; Vigilance provides protection and threat utility for a group member; Sword and Board supports Shield Slam use. Taste for Blood links Rend damage to Overpower windows, while Rampage and Wrecking Crew offer separate conditional offensive bonuses.
When comparing runes, consider the gear slot, whether the effect requires a shield or Enrage, its trigger, and whether its benefit is damage, tanking, or group protection. The source guide reports Rune Brokers as an alternate acquisition path, but cautions that purchasing can interfere with some discovery or quest steps.

Which Phase 3 Warrior runes require a shield?
Shield Mastery increases physical damage while a shield is equipped. Gladiator Stance also requires a shield and adds its stated damage, block, Rage, armor, and threat effects while active.
Can I buy Warrior runes instead of following discovery routes?
