Version 26.3.1 adds support for Crimson Desert, DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH, and FSR Upscaling 4.1 on Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards. AMD’s release-notes page was last updated March 19, 2026. It is a version-specific download, so do not assume it is AMD’s newest available driver. For the latest driver supported by your hardware, use AMD’s Drivers and Support page and its Auto-Detect tool.

What AMD Adrenalin 26.3.1 adds
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1 is a Windows Radeon graphics-driver release focused on new game support, FSR support for newer GPUs, and several stability fixes. According to AMD’s official release notes, it adds:

Install 26.3.1 if you specifically need this release, such as for one of the newly supported games or a listed fix. If your only goal is to obtain the newest compatible driver, start at AMD’s general driver page instead of treating 26.3.1 as the latest release.

For a different or newer Radeon release, go to AMD Drivers and Support and follow this path:
- Open Windows & Linux Drivers.
- Choose Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD Radeon™ Series Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipsets.
- Select Download Windows Drivers.
AMD provides two general ways to find a driver: the AMD Auto-Detect and Install Tool or the Product Selector. The Product Selector lets you manually search through AMD product menus when you do not want to use automatic detection. AMD describes both options in its installation FAQ.

Notebook Radeon graphics
The listed mobile families are:
- Radeon RX 7900M, RX 7800M, and RX 7600M
- Radeon RX 6800M, RX 6700M, RX 6600M, RX 6500M, and RX 6300M
- Radeon RX 5700M, RX 5600M, RX 5500M, and RX 5300M
AMD classifies this as a notebook reference graphics driver with limited support for system-vendor-specific features. For a laptop or all-in-one PC, AMD recommends the driver supplied by the computer manufacturer because it is customized and validated for that system’s features and optimizations. If the AMD.com package causes problems—such as missing laptop-specific functions, unusual power behavior, or display issues—install the graphics driver from the laptop or AIO manufacturer instead. See the compatibility warning in AMD’s 26.3.1 release notes.
Handheld gaming PCs are not supported by AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. Handheld owners should obtain the graphics package from the handheld manufacturer. The same OEM-first approach is important for devices whose graphics driver is customized for a particular power-management or display configuration.
Supported Windows versions
For Adrenalin 26.3.1, AMD requires one of these operating systems:
- Windows 11 version 21H2 or later
- Windows 10 64-bit version 21H2 or later
AMD’s general installation article still mentions Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later, but that is not the correct requirement to apply to this version-specific release. For 26.3.1, use the newer requirement in the release notes: Windows 10 64-bit 21H2 or later. This driver also requires an account with Administrator rights. It is not intended for Radeon products running through Apple Boot Camp; Boot Camp users should obtain graphics-driver support from the system manufacturer.
How to install Adrenalin 26.3.1
Before starting, close games and other GPU-intensive applications, save open work, and make sure you are signed in with Administrator rights. If you are installing on a laptop or all-in-one, check the OEM driver first rather than replacing a validated manufacturer package without a reason.
- Open the folder where the AMD download was saved.
- Double-click
whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-26.3.1-win11-c.exe. - When Windows asks whether to allow the installer to make changes, click Yes. AMD first unpacks the setup files.
- The AMD Software Installer checks system and driver/software compatibility.
- Review the End User License Agreement, AI Acceptable Use Policy, and any AI Bundle EULA presented by the installer.
- For the normal installation, click Accept & Express Install.
- When installation finishes, click Close.
The display can flicker briefly while the graphics-driver changes are applied. That is expected during a normal driver installation. Do not interrupt the process just because the screen refreshes or briefly changes resolution.

Choosing a custom installation
Click Additional Options instead of Express Install if you need to change the software type, install location, components, or reset behavior. AMD’s current installer presents these choices:

Custom installation also exposes Install Location, Factory Reset (Optional), and Custom Install for selecting available components and features. AMD recommends leaving the installation location at its default:

What Factory Reset does
Factory Reset removes all previous versions of the AMD Software Package, temporarily pauses Windows Updates, restarts the computer, and automatically continues the installation after reboot. It also prevents rolling back to the previously installed drivers.
Use Factory Reset when a regular upgrade is failing because of remnants of an older AMD package or when you deliberately need a clean driver state. Do not select it casually if you may need to return immediately to the currently installed driver; the reset removes that rollback path.
Starting with Adrenalin 26.1.1, the installer can offer an AI Bundle installation option on supported systems. As a result, 26.3.1 may display AI Bundle components, the AI Acceptable Use Policy, and one or more AI Bundle EULAs that are absent from older installation guides.

- Manage Downloads when Custom Install – AMD Software is selected. This opens AMD Install Manager.
AMD Install Manager shows an Install button for each component available to install or update. This can be useful if you initially selected a minimal or driver-only configuration and later decide to add available software components.

What 26.3.1 fixes
AMD lists the following fixes in the release notes:
- Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing could crash or time out while loading a saved game.
- Mouse or keyboard input could be lost intermittently while interacting with Adrenalin.
- Systems using Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics or newer could crash after repeatedly changing in-game Adrenalin settings or using Alt+Tab.
- AMD Noise Suppression could fail to enable on Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics and newer.
These are fixes AMD documents for this release; they are not a guarantee that every game-specific crash or input problem on every system will be resolved.
Known issues in 26.3.1
Check these limitations before updating, especially if you play Battlefield 6 or RoadCraft:

If one of these issues affects your main game, consider waiting for a release that addresses it or use AMD’s supported rollback process rather than assuming the new driver is an improvement for every workload.
Downgrading or removing 26.3.1
Recommended method for a downgrade
AMD recommends using AMD Cleanup Utility when downgrading to a previous Adrenalin version. After cleaning the existing package, install the older driver from its official AMD download page. This is preferable to layering an older package over a newer one when the goal is to return to a known-good driver state. AMD’s downgrade recommendation appears in the 26.3.1 release notes.

Normal Windows uninstall path
To remove AMD Software through Windows:
- Open Start from the Windows taskbar.
- Type Installed Apps.
- Select Installed apps under Best match.
- Find AMD Software in the app list and choose Uninstall.
- If multiple AMD Radeon Software versions are listed, select and uninstall each available version.
- Finish by clicking Restart.
The screen may go blank intermittently while AMD Software is being uninstalled. AMD documents this as expected display behavior during the process. The full procedure is in AMD’s Radeon Software uninstall FAQ.

AMD documents the following installation conflicts and error codes. The message’s code is more useful than the generic phrase “installation failed,” so note it before retrying.

AMD’s installation FAQ is the reference for these installer errors. If a problem continues after the relevant condition is corrected, use the exact code when looking for additional AMD or system-manufacturer support.
Should you install 26.3.1?
- Install it now if you need its support for Crimson Desert, DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH, FSR Upscaling 4.1 on an RX 9000 card, or one of its listed fixes.
- Be cautious if Battlefield 6 or RoadCraft is your priority and you use the affected hardware or features.
- Use the OEM package for laptops and all-in-one PCs when system-specific features matter, and always use the OEM driver for unsupported handheld gaming devices.
- Use AMD Auto-Detect if you are looking for the newest compatible driver rather than this particular release.
There is no command-line installation syntax in AMD’s normal installation steps. AMD links to a separate Radeon Software command-line installation guide, so this article does not provide an unverified unattended-install command.

Is AMD Adrenalin 26.3.1 the latest Radeon driver?
