You enter raids in the fictional region of Kamona, fight human operators and AI enemies, search for valuable equipment, and try to extract. Escaping preserves your haul; dying generally costs the gear and loot you carried into the raid.
The current version is Season 6: White Nights, launched globally on June 30, 2026, and promoted as the start of ABI 2.0. It still centers on PvPvE extraction, but Season 6 adds substantial PvE, co-op, event, and respawn-based content. The game is related to mobile Arena Breakout, but Infinite is a separate PC product rather than simply the mobile game with a PC client.
Check the official site for the current launcher, features, and seasonal notices, or install it through Steam or the Epic Games Store.
What is Arena Breakout: Infinite?
Arena Breakout: Infinite is built around the extraction-shooter format rather than conventional team deathmatch. A raid is a high-stakes expedition: you bring equipment or receive a lower-commitment loadout, enter a map, collect items, fight or evade enemies, and leave through an extraction point. The economic and progression systems then turn what you brought out into your resources for future raids.

The official summary is effectively fight, loot, and extract—or lose it all. That is a useful description, although the exact consequences vary by mode and by protected-storage rules. In a conventional raid, extracted weapons, armor, ammunition, valuables, and other loot can be kept, sold, or reused. If you are eliminated, you generally lose the equipment and unprotected loot carried into the raid.
Unlike a military simulator, the game mixes simulation-inspired systems with approachable progression and live-service abstractions. Armor, ammunition, wounds, healing, weight, sound, weapon handling, and economic risk all matter, but Season 6 also includes Mastery bonuses, seasonal events, boss encounters, special currencies, unlimited-respawn activities, and crossover content. It is best described as a simulation-inspired tactical extraction shooter, not a strict military simulation.
How a raid works
- Choose a map and risk tier. The standard brackets are Normal, Lockdown, and Forbidden Zone. They are risk-and-reward categories, not universal difficulty settings with identical rules on every map. Entry costs, expected gear, loot quality, matchmaking, and event modifiers can change by map and season.
- Prepare a loadout. You can use equipment from your stash in the main Tac Ops-style experience, or select a lower-commitment randomized loadout in Covert Ops. Bring a weapon that you can afford to lose, suitable ammunition, armor, a helmet where appropriate, medical supplies, and enough carrying capacity to handle loot.
- Enter the raid. You spawn alongside other operators and AI enemies. Your first goal is not necessarily to find a fight. It is to understand your position, identify likely threats, and decide how much time you can spend searching.
- Search and complete objectives. Buildings, containers, safes, bodies, and marked locations can contain weapons, armor, ammunition, valuables, and mission items. Inventory space, carried weight, stamina, ammunition, and injuries all create competing priorities.
- Fight, avoid, or disengage. Human players are usually more dangerous and less predictable than ordinary AI, but gunfire can attract both. You can take a profitable fight, rotate around it, hide, or leave with what you already have. A kill is not the same as a successful raid.
- Manage injuries and resources. Healing is part of the decision-making, not merely a post-fight animation. Ammunition, armor durability, medical supplies, and remaining stamina can determine whether another engagement is sensible.
- Extract before time runs out. Reach an available extraction point and successfully leave. Extraction is the win condition: the most expensive loadout in the world has no value if you die before getting out.
- Reinvest the result. Store useful equipment, sell surplus loot, complete progression or mission tasks, and rebuild a sensible next loadout. In a live service, current event rules and item values can change, so avoid treating an old economy guide as permanent.
Is it the same as mobile Arena Breakout?
No. The PC game and mobile Arena Breakout share a name, setting, genre, and design lineage, and both use concepts such as Tac Ops and Covert Ops. They are nevertheless separate products. The official PC site links to distinct App Store and Google Play products, while the PC privacy documentation discusses Steam, Epic, and Level Infinite account data.

Maps: the current working roster
The official homepage currently advertises six distinct maps. The 2025 full-release announcement named five maps, while 2026 Season 6 announcements repeatedly reference Airport. Combining those current references produces this working roster:
| Map | Tactical identity | Practical expectation |
|---|---|---|
| Farm | Accessible mixed terrain and a familiar introduction to the loop. | A sensible place to learn looting, sound cues, rotations, and extraction discipline. It is not risk-free: predictable routes can also attract experienced players. |
| Valley | Larger outdoor engagements and longer sightlines. | Expect more importance on positioning, cover, optics, and movement between exposed areas. |
| Armory | Compact, high-risk close-quarters combat. | Fast reactions, ammunition selection, and room-clearing discipline matter. The July 30, 2026 update also fixed several Armory exploits. |
| TV Station | Dense indoor combat with high PvP intensity. | Close-range sound information and careful angles are more important than long-range map control. Season 6 also uses TV Station for a PvPvE Hostile Sector variant and a Melee-Only Combat event. |
| Northridge | Large outdoor spaces, hills, weather, and long-range opportunities. | Visibility, elevation, stamina, and route planning can matter as much as aim. It is also one of the Season 6 Hostile Sector PvE locations. |
| Airport | A newer high-value map with current Season 6 event activity. | It has been a focus of recent updates, including fixes for exploits and non-interactable containers. Use the live client rather than an old launch guide for its current routes and rules. |
These are tactical descriptions, not official difficulty labels. Map layouts, loot, extraction points, bosses, and event availability are patch-sensitive. The public homepage does not provide one detailed, text-based map roster or a permanent map-to-mode table, so verify the map-selection screen before relying on an old guide. A current third-party map reference is available at GearNet, but the client remains the authority for current rules.
Normal, Lockdown, and Forbidden Zone
The three official risk tiers are:
- Normal: the lowest-risk bracket and the natural starting point for learning a map, though other players can still be highly capable.
- Lockdown: a higher-stakes bracket with stronger expected equipment, greater entry risk, and potentially better rewards.
- Forbidden Zone: the most demanding standard risk bracket, intended for players prepared to lose costly gear and face more dangerous competition or rules.
Do not treat these labels as a universal easy, medium, and hard selector. Entry requirements, fees, loot quality, gear expectations, population, and temporary event rules vary. The official descriptions confirm the three-tier structure but do not establish one permanent numerical risk table for every map.
Modes: standard extraction and ABI 2.0 variations
| Mode family | How it works | Does it use the classic extraction risk? |
|---|---|---|
| Tactical Ops | Bring your own equipment into the raid and risk that investment while searching for better gear and loot. | Yes. This is the clearest expression of the traditional one-life extraction loop. |
| Solo Ops | A solo-focused extraction format for players who want to operate alone rather than depend on a squad. | Generally follows extraction principles, but check the current queue and event rules. |
| Covert Ops | Enter with a randomized, lower-commitment loadout instead of risking a fully assembled stash kit. The mode is related to the Tac Ops/Covert Ops structure used by the broader Arena Breakout design. | It reduces the cost of entry, but extraction and survival still matter under the current mode rules. |
| Hostile Sector | Season 6’s PvE-focused family, with co-op, single-team, multiple-team, and PvPvE variations. | Some variants preserve meaningful extraction risk; others alter the normal structure. Read the entry and reward rules before starting. |
| Supplies Drops | Teams fight around supply objectives, have unlimited respawns, and deposit resources into personal or team crates. | No. It is deliberately different from an all-or-nothing single-life extraction raid. |
| Limited-time events | Special rules, weapons, objectives, crossover rewards, and combat restrictions can temporarily change familiar maps. | It depends on the event. Never assume standard raid rules apply. |
Season 6’s mode expansion is important because it changes how the game should be described. Infinite is still primarily an extraction shooter, but it is no longer accurate to portray it as only a Tarkov-style PvPvE experience.

Hostile Sector
Hostile Sector places much more emphasis on AI combat and co-operative play:
- PvE versions are available on Farm and Northridge.
- Variants can involve one team or multiple teams.
- TV Station has a PvPvE version, so PvE-focused does not always mean player-free.
- Night, fog, storms, and blizzard conditions can reduce visibility and alter the tactical problem.
- Enhanced enemies include breachers, snipers, grenadiers, fumigators, stronger enemy groups, and boss events.
- Hostile Sector: Solo Infiltration uses tickets for unlimited entries, while conventional Hostile Sector entry uses Koen for repeated attempts.
This is not a conventional single-player story campaign. The official announcement describes PvE, co-op, multiple-team, and PvPvE variants rather than a linear narrative mode.
Supplies Drops
Supplies Drops is closer to a combat event than a normal raid. Teams contest supply objectives, can respawn without the usual one-life pressure, and deposit resources into personal or team crates. That makes it useful for players who enjoy the shooting and objective play but want a less punishing loop. It also means success there should not be used as a direct measure of standard extraction skill.
What Season 6: White Nights adds
Season 6 launched globally on June 30, 2026, and the developer describes it as the beginning of ABI 2.0. Its major changes include Hostile Sector, Supplies Drops, the Mastery system, new weather conditions, new weapons and ammunition, balance changes, and control updates. The official Steam announcements are the best place to check which seasonal activities remain active.
At the time covered by this guide, the Champion’s Trophy event materials list activity through August 15, 2026. That date is inherently temporary: event schedules, reward tracks, and access conditions can change or expire without changing the underlying game.
The July 30, 2026 live update is also useful context for returning players. It:
- Fixed several Airport and Armory map exploits.
- Fixed Airport containers that could not be interacted with.
- Improved facial-texture performance under some settings.
- Improved guidance for Hostile Sector: Solo Infiltration.
- Clarified entry prompts for expired items.
- Raised TV Station Melee-Only Combat’s entry requirement from 150,000 to 200,000.
- Adjusted Supplies Drops settlement multipliers.
- Corrected the Resident Evil collaboration dagger’s behavior.
If a live update happens while you are in a raid, the developer says you must leave the raid and click Update in the launcher. Steam players were also warned not to use Offline Mode if they wanted to receive the update.
The Mastery system
Mastery is a new progression layer intended to improve basic character skills. It is not a hero-class system and does not grant superhero abilities. Players earn Mastery Points and can respec flexibly to adapt their tactical preferences.
That makes Mastery a playstyle modifier rather than a replacement for positioning, ammunition knowledge, or extraction judgment. The public announcement does not list every node, cost, requirement, or optimal build, so any detailed Mastery guide should be checked against the live Season 6 interface rather than treated as permanent advice.

Weapons, armor, ammunition, and gunsmithing
The current official PC site advertises more than 75 weapons, 900-plus weapon modifications, and more than 20 attachment slots. Those numbers are date-sensitive. The 2025 full-release announcement used an earlier count of 69 weapons and 881 accessories, so a precise number should always be dated.
Gunsmithing is functional rather than purely cosmetic. Attachments can change handling, recoil, range, ergonomics, sight picture, sound, and the role a weapon performs. A build optimized for controllable medium-range fire may be a poor choice in a narrow indoor fight, while a compact close-range gun can leave you at a disadvantage across open terrain.
Recommended Free Tools
For new players, ammunition often matters more than the price of the gun. A costly rifle with inappropriate ammunition can perform worse against armor than a cheaper weapon loaded for the target. Armor condition, penetration, hit placement, recoil control, and the number of shots you can realistically land all affect the outcome. Expensive equipment improves possibilities; it does not guarantee survival.
- Carry ammunition appropriate to the armor and engagement range you expect.
- Do not spend your entire bankroll on the weapon while neglecting medical supplies, spare ammunition, armor condition, and a way to carry loot.
- Use the current gunsmith screen for exact attachment-stat changes. Old meta builds become unreliable after balance patches, new ammunition, and map changes.
- Learn one affordable weapon platform before experimenting with expensive, highly specialized builds.
Is Arena Breakout: Infinite free-to-play or pay-to-win?
The fairest answer requires separating the early-access controversy from the current full-release model.
What changed after early access
The game entered PC early access on August 13, 2024, initially through its official launcher. Early coverage criticized a monetization model that allowed real-money Koen purchases and paid secure-container advantages. Because Koen could be used for weapons, armor, ammunition, and market goods, critics argued that spending could reduce the economic consequences of failure. Contemporary reporting from Forbes, PC Gamer, and PCGamesN documents that historical criticism.
For the September 15, 2025 full release on Steam and Epic, MoreFun Studios announced that:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Real-money purchases of Koen would be removed.
- Some high-tier ammunition and gear would be removed from the market.
- The largest secure case, the nine-grid Titanium Case, would be obtainable through seasonal missions.
That policy change is why an old article calling the current game a direct cash-for-Koen system is outdated. It does not mean monetization disappeared.
What remains in the live service
The current game still includes:
- Bonds, a premium currency or value layer.
- Premium Battle Passes and Premium Elite Cards.
- Paid progression and Battle Pass levels.
- Cosmetic weapon and character rewards.
- Skin-supply systems and chance-based purchases, both of which Steam lists on the store page.
- Limited-time event rewards and crossover content.
The current Season 6 Battle Pass activation page advertises a Premium Elite Card, Bonds, Battle Pass levels, and exclusive weapon and grenade skins. The official Battle Pass page shows the current offer, but its contents should not be assumed to remain unchanged.
Verdict: the most direct early-access pay-to-win mechanic—buying Koen with real money—was removed for full release, and the largest secure case was moved to seasonal progression. However, Infinite remains a free-to-play service with paid progression, premium cards, Bonds, chance-based purchases, and an economy in which storage and progression advantages can be debated separately from cosmetics. Calling it simply pay-to-win is outdated; calling it entirely free of competitive monetization concerns is also too strong.

Leave additional storage headroom for updates rather than treating 70 GB as a permanent total.
Anti-cheat, DMA Guard, and account requirements
Steam lists kernel-level Anti-Cheat Expert, while the developer describes automatic monitoring, killcam replays, and in-game reporting. Official security reports also describe bans, device bans, IP bans, Koen confiscation, and penalties for playing with hackers. The developer has announced compensation for material losses caused by accounts later banned for cheating.
These are enforcement and recovery policies, not proof of a cheat-free game. Compensation should be understood as a developer policy for qualifying cases, not a guarantee that every suspicious death will be reimbursed. Likewise, the existence of kernel-level monitoring does not establish that cheating has been eliminated.
DMA Guard configuration
Season 6-era security updates include DMA Guard, a system-level protection feature designed to address DMA-based cheating. The developer’s August 2026 configuration guide says that some players may need to enable hardware and Windows protections such as:
- Intel VT-d on compatible Intel systems.
- AMD IOMMU on compatible AMD systems.
- Relevant Windows hardware DMA protection features.
The published troubleshooting path begins with:
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Enter
msinfo32and confirm your motherboard and processor information. - Restart into your computer’s BIOS or UEFI setup.
- Enable the appropriate VT-d or IOMMU option, then save and restart.
BIOS names and menu paths vary by motherboard manufacturer and processor platform. If the option is absent, consult the motherboard manual or manufacturer support rather than enabling unrelated security settings at random. Anti-cheat, DMA Guard, and third-party software can also conflict with unusual system configurations or programs that hook, automate, intercept, or modify the game.

Common new-player mistakes
- Entering a high-tier raid with bad ammunition: expensive armor cannot compensate for ammunition that cannot reliably defeat the protection you are fighting.
- Overloading the backpack: too much weight can leave you slow, short on stamina, and unable to reach extraction in time.
- Taking every fight: a sound is information, not an instruction to shoot. A quiet rotation may be the profitable play.
- Assuming every enemy is a player: learn how ordinary AI moves and reacts, but remain cautious because AI behavior, enhanced enemies, and human operators can overlap.
- Spending the entire bankroll on guns: budget for ammunition, medical supplies, armor durability, and a carrying solution.
- Entering without an extraction plan: identify where you need to end up before you commit to a distant building or prolonged fight.
- Confusing a kill with a win: the objective is to extract with value, not merely to increase the kill count.
- Treating Hostile Sector as relaxed PvE: enhanced enemies, bosses, dangerous weather, and PvPvE variants can make it extremely punishing.
- Assuming event rules are permanent: Supplies Drops respawns and special combat events do not represent the normal raid structure.
- Following an old map guide: Airport additions, exploit fixes, layout changes, loot changes, and seasonal events can invalidate old routes.
Should you play it?
| Reader | Likely fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| New to extraction shooters | Good starting point if you accept the learning curve. | It is free to try, offers multiple risk tiers and lower-commitment modes, and provides more onboarding and quality-of-life structure than the harshest alternatives. |
| Escape from Tarkov player | Worth trying, but expect a different balance. | You will recognize stash management, ammunition and armor decisions, and extraction risk, while finding more automation, events, and accessibility than in a stricter hardcore experience. |
| Hunt: Showdown player | Potentially a good fit. | Both reward sound, patience, positioning, and choosing when to disengage, but the objectives, gunplay, progression, and extraction economy are different. |
| Gray Zone Warfare player | Compare the formats rather than the labels. | Infinite focuses on contained raids and risk tiers, whereas Gray Zone Warfare presents a larger open-world military-extraction style. |
| Delta Force player | Good if you want a deeper extraction layer. | The comparison is useful for players seeking a more accessible mainstream shooter feel, but Infinite puts more weight on stash economy, equipment loss, and gunsmithing. |
| Solo player | Supported, with caveats. | Solo Ops and Solo Infiltration exist, but standard extraction risk and the possibility of stronger enemies or opposing players remain important. |
| PvE-focused player | More attractive in Season 6 than before. | Hostile Sector provides substantial PvE and co-op content, but it is not a fully offline campaign and some variants are PvPvE. |
| Player seeking console play or mobile crossplay | Not a current fit. | Official availability is currently PC-only. There is no current official console listing or release date in the supplied material, and PC/mobile crossplay or shared progression should not be assumed. |
| Player concerned about cheating or kernel anti-cheat | Research the security trade-off first. | ACE, monitoring, reports, killcams, and DMA Guard show an active anti-cheat approach, but they also involve system-level protections and do not guarantee a cheat-free environment. |
| Player who dislikes live-service monetization | Proceed cautiously. | The game is free to enter, but premium passes, Bonds, chance-based purchases, events, account requirements, and seasonal rule changes are part of the product. |
How it compares with the main alternatives
There is no universal best extraction shooter. The useful question is which compromise you prefer:
- Escape from Tarkov: a reference point for deeper, harsher progression and demanding systems. Infinite is generally the more approachable entry for players who want the format with more guided systems and varied modes.
- Hunt: Showdown: a slower PvPvP tension game built around a different objective structure and atmosphere. It is not a direct substitute for Infinite’s stash-and-loot economy.
- Gray Zone Warfare: a larger open-world military-extraction presentation, making it a better comparison for players prioritizing that format over contained raid brackets.
- Delta Force’s extraction mode: a useful comparison for players who want a more mainstream shooter feel, while Infinite emphasizes weapon modification, equipment loss, and economic decisions.
- Mobile Arena Breakout: the closest related product, but still a separate game. Choose the PC product for mouse-and-keyboard play and PC presentation rather than assuming feature parity.
Final verdict
Arena Breakout: Infinite is worth trying if you want a free PC extraction shooter with detailed gunsmithing, meaningful ammunition and armor decisions, solo and squad options, several risk levels, and a live-service roadmap that now includes serious PvE and co-op modes. Season 6 makes the game broader than its original PvPvE reputation suggests without removing the central tension of risking equipment for a chance at better loot.
Approach it cautiously if you dislike losing gear, managing an inventory and economy, linking accounts, installing kernel-level anti-cheat, changing BIOS security settings, or dealing with seasonal monetization and rules. The most accurate current description is neither “a pure Tarkov clone” nor “completely pay-to-win”: it is an evolving, accessible extraction shooter whose best feature—the risk of turning a dangerous raid into a profitable escape—is also what makes it demanding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Arena Breakout: Infinite offline or on console?
No offline mode or current console release is established by the supplied official material. The game is currently available on Windows PC through its official launcher, Steam, and Epic Games Store, and it requires an internet connection and account integration.
Is Arena Breakout: Infinite the same game as mobile Arena Breakout?
No. They are related but separate PC and mobile products. Do not assume shared matchmaking, identical progression, crossplay, or universal cross-progression without checking the current account and support documentation.
Do I lose my gear when I die?
In the standard extraction loop, you generally lose the equipment and unprotected loot carried into a raid when eliminated. Protected-storage rules and special modes can change what is at risk, so check the current mode before entering.
Is the game still pay-to-win?
The full-release policy removed real-money Koen purchases and made the nine-grid Titanium Case obtainable through seasonal missions. The game still has Bonds, premium passes and cards, paid progression, chance-based purchases, and an economy where storage and progression advantages remain debated.
What should I do if DMA Guard prevents the game from running?
Follow the developer’s current configuration guidance: press Windows Key + R, run msinfo32, identify your hardware, then check BIOS or UEFI for Intel VT-d or AMD IOMMU and the relevant Windows DMA protections. Menu names vary, so use your motherboard documentation and avoid changing unrelated settings.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Arena Breakout: Infinite is a free, currently PC-only extraction shooter that rewards careful loadouts, good ammunition choices, restraint, and successful extraction. It is a strong trial for players who want a more accessible alternative to harsher extraction games, especially with Season 6’s Hostile Sector and Supplies Drops content. It is a poor fit for anyone seeking an offline campaign, a fixed one-time-purchase game, console support, a guaranteed cheat-free environment, or a service with no premium economy.
