These are 10 official Google Doodle games still reachable through Google’s Doodles archive, checked on August 10, 2026. They run in a web browser and are intended as free, no-download games, although browser settings, device performance, regional availability, and changes to Google’s archived assets can affect whether a particular game loads.

“Popular” here means a curated editorial selection—not an official Google ranking by lifetime players. The list balances cultural recognition, replay value, different game types, and the practical question of whether readers can still open the original Doodle rather than a clone or an unrelated Google Search game.

Open Google’s official Interactive Game archive or use the direct links below.

  • COMPLETE GAME SET: This comprehensive set includes everything you need for a complete gaming experience, from the maze game board to electronic components. Immerse yourself in the world of Pac-Man with all the necessary pieces at your fingertips

1. PAC-MAN

Verdict: The essential starting point—and the clearest example of a Google logo becoming a complete arcade game.

Play PAC-MAN on Google’s official page. This Doodle launched on May 21, 2010, for PAC-MAN’s 30th anniversary. Google describes it as its first playable Doodle and says the recreation includes the original game’s logic, graphics, sounds, ghost personalities, and even some of the original bugs.

Your objective is familiar: clear the maze, eat pellets and fruit, avoid the ghosts, and use power pellets to turn the hunters into targets. It works especially well as a short nostalgia hit because a round starts quickly and the rules need almost no explanation.

Controls: Use the arrow keys, or click the maze to direct PAC-MAN. Google’s official description also includes a local two-player Easter egg: press Insert Coin a second time to add Ms. PAC-MAN, who is controlled with W/A/S/D.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Best device: Desktop or laptop, especially for the two-player mode.
  • Best for: Arcade fans, nostalgic players, and short sessions.
  • Trade-off: It is a faithful arcade game rather than a modern progression-based adventure.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

2. Doodle Champion Island Games

Verdict: The best overall choice if you want a genuine game-like adventure rather than a two-minute diversion.

Play Doodle Champion Island Games. Released in July 2021 around the Tokyo 2020 Olympics—an event delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic—this is Google’s most ambitious interactive Doodle. Google has described it as its largest-ever interactive Doodle, created with Japanese animation studio STUDIO 4°C.

You play as Lucky, a calico cat exploring Champion Island. The archive lists seven sports: table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, artistic swimming, climbing, and marathon. The broader experience combines those competitions with exploration, side quests, champions, teams, sacred scrolls, and story progression.

There is a small inconsistency in Google’s own descriptions. The archive lists seven sport mini-games, while a Google blog description refers to six sport mini-games, 24 side quests, multiple endings, and more than three hours of gameplay. The safest summary is that the archive’s seven-event listing is the current reference for the playable page, while the exact count varies between Google’s descriptions.

Controls: There is no single control scheme for the whole game. Movement and event-specific actions use keyboard, mouse, or touch prompts depending on the activity, so follow the instructions shown by the current game.

  • Best device: Desktop or a reasonably powerful mobile device. Touch works for some activities, but the experience may load more slowly than simpler Doodles.
  • Best for: Players who want exploration, sports challenges, side quests, and a longer session.
  • Trade-off: It is the most substantial game here, but that also makes it more sensitive to browser performance and loading problems.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

3. Magic Cat Academy

Verdict: The best Google Doodle series for quick reflexes, spooky presentation, and touchscreen-friendly play.

Play the 2024 Magic Cat Academy. Treat Magic Cat Academy as a series rather than a single game. The original 2016 Doodle introduced Momo the cat defending a magical school by drawing spell symbols over approaching ghosts. Google’s original version has five school-based levels: the library, cafeteria, classroom, gym, and rooftop.

Monopoly Arcade Pac-Man Game Board Game for Kids Ages 8 and Up; Includes Banking and Arcade Unit
  • MONOPOLY GAME WITH PAC-MAN THEME: Did you play the classic Pac-Man arcade game back in the 80s? Relive favorite moments with this Pac-Man themed Monopoly Arcade board game
  • ARCADE IS BANKING UNIT: In the Monopoly Arcade Pac-Man game players play for points instead of money. Earn points by buying Levels and playing mini games of Pac-Man on the banking and arcade unit
  • THE GHOST: Players move around the board as Pac-Man, and also move the Ghost token on their turn. The Ghost Die determines how far the Ghost token moves
  • POWER UP, POWER PELLET AND MAZE SPACES: Players move around the board and can advance to or steal a Level depending on the space they land on. If they pass or land on Go they get to play Pac-Man
  • FOR PAC-MAN FANS: Players insert their plastic arcade coin into the banking and arcade unit to check scores, pay rent, buy, sell, or steal Levels, play mini games of Pac-Man, and more

The 2020 sequel sends Momo underwater to fight aquatic enemies across ocean zones. The 2024 installment moves the action into the atmosphere, where Momo faces the ghost Marshmallow. All three are official interactive Doodles:

Controls: Draw or swipe the symbol shown above each ghost. The exact gesture depends on the device and pointer method. A mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen is generally more natural than a keyboard-only setup.

  • Best device: Touchscreen, mouse, or trackpad.
  • Best for: Halloween fans, quick reflex challenges, and players who like level-based action.
  • Trade-off: Symbol gestures can be awkward with a mouse and may be uncomfortable for keyboard-only players; this is a practical limitation, not an accessibility certification.
  • Archive status: The 2016, 2020, and 2024 official pages were checked August 10, 2026.

4. Doodle Baseball — Fourth of July 2019

Verdict: The best five-minute score chase: simple to understand, quick to restart, and surprisingly tempting to replay.

Play the Fourth of July 2019 Baseball Doodle. This game launched on July 4, 2019—not 2020, as some later listicles incorrectly report. You bat for food-themed characters against a peanut-themed opposing team, timing swings against pitches that become more varied as the game progresses.

The goal is to score as many runs as possible before striking out. That narrow loop is also the appeal: it takes only a moment to learn, but the timing encourages repeated attempts.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Controls: Contemporary coverage from PCWorld reports the Spacebar for swinging. Follow the prompt displayed by the current game if the control differs on your device or embedded version.

  • Best device: Desktop or laptop; it is also suitable for short mobile sessions if the current touch prompt is available.
  • Best for: A fast arcade break and score competition.
  • Trade-off: Once you learn the timing, there is less depth than in Champion Island or a traditional baseball game.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

5. Doodle Cricket

Verdict: The most accessible one-button sports Doodle, particularly on a phone.

Play Doodle Cricket. This specific interactive game launched on July 17, 2017, to celebrate the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. It is not a full cricket simulation: you control a batter against snail bowlers and try to score as many runs as possible before getting out.

Controls: Tap or click to swing, as described by Google’s archive. The key is timing rather than learning a complicated control layout, making it easy to understand even if you have never watched a cricket match.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Best device: Mobile, tablet, or desktop.
  • Best for: Quick retries, touch controls, and players who want an immediately understandable cricket game.
  • Trade-off: The gameplay loop is deliberately narrow and does not attempt to model a complete match.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

Google has published multiple cricket-related Doodles, so use the specific official archive entry above rather than searching for a vague “Google Cricket” page.

6. Basketball 2012

Verdict: A clean keyboard score attack built around one satisfying charge-and-release shot.

Rank #3
Steamforged Games: PAC-MAN the Card Game
  • PAC-MAN The Card Game brings the classic arcade experience to your tabletop with an easy-to-learn, fast-paced game perfect for the whole family!
  • Collect PAC-DOTS, fruit, and use power-ups to rack up points, but watch out for Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde—they’ll knock you out of the game if you’re not careful!
  • With three exciting game modes—Beginner, Level-Up, and Bonus Mode—you can customize the challenge for 1-8 players, ensuring fun for all ages.
  • Simple rules, colorful cards, and strategic gameplay make PAC-MAN The Card Game a thrilling, addictive experience that will have you coming back for more.
  • Whether you're playing solo or with family and friends, this game captures all the charm of the PAC-MAN universe, making it a must-have for fans and new players alike!

Play Basketball 2012. Google launched the Doodle on August 8, 2012, as part of its London Olympics coverage. You have a short round to make as many baskets as possible, with shooting power determining whether the ball falls short or sails too far.

Controls: Hold the Spacebar to build power and release it to shoot. PCWorld describes the round as 30 seconds; check the live game prompt if the archived version presents different timing or instructions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Best device: Desktop or laptop with a physical keyboard.
  • Best for: High-score attempts and players who like a mechanical challenge with immediate feedback.
  • Trade-off: Its simplicity makes it highly replayable for some players but repetitive once the timing is familiar.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

7. Soccer 2012

Verdict: The quickest choice for a football—or soccer—penalty challenge.

Play Soccer 2012. The Doodle launched on August 10, 2012, during Google’s London 2012 Olympics Doodle run. It focuses on penalty shots: aim and shoot past the goalkeeper rather than playing a complete soccer match.

Controls: Use the on-screen aiming and shooting instructions. Because the archived interface may expose different pointer or touch prompts, do not assume a keyboard layout unless the current game explicitly shows one.

  • Best device: Desktop or mobile, depending on how the current embedded controls appear.
  • Best for: Soccer fans and short accuracy challenges.
  • Trade-off: This is a penalty-shootout game, not a full match or football-management simulation.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

Historical correction: Some secondary pages connect this Doodle with UEFA Euro 2012. Google’s official page identifies it with the 2012 London Olympics instead.

8. Garden Gnomes

Verdict: The oddball physics game: launch ceramic gnomes, plant flowers, and keep experimenting with distance and bounce.

Play Garden Gnomes. Released on June 10, 2018, the game puts you behind a catapult. Launch a gnome into a landscape, use the terrain and objects to extend the flight, and try to plant as many flowers as possible.

Google says the game includes six colorful gnomes with different shapes, weights, and bounce characteristics. Choosing a different gnome changes how the launch behaves, giving Garden Gnomes more experimentation and replay value than a basic one-button sports game.

Controls: Use the on-screen launch controls. Third-party instructions disagree about the exact keyboard and touch sequence, so the live game prompt is the reliable guide for the archived version.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Best device: Desktop or mobile; control behavior can vary with the embedded version.
  • Best for: Casual physics-game fans and players who enjoy testing different approaches.
  • Trade-off: It has more replayable experimentation than Basketball or Baseball, but less structured progression than Champion Island.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

9. Coding for Carrots

Verdict: The best educational Doodle and an approachable introduction to block-based programming.

Rank #4
Quoridor Pac-Man Strategy Board Game | Officially Licensed Maze Chase & Wall-Blocking Game | from the Makers of Award-Winning Quoridor | Family Game Night | Ages 8+ | 2-5 Players | 15 Min
  • OFFICIALLY LICENSED PAC-MAN BOARD GAME : race through a maze as Pac-Man or the ghosts in a strategy game built around the arcade icon every generation recognizes on sight.
  • THE AWARD-WINNING QUORIDOR MECHANIC, PAC-MAN THEMED : built on Quoridor, the Mensa Select-winning wall-blocking strategy game with over 1 million sold; block your opponents' path while racing to the exit.
  • REAL STRATEGY, EASY TO LEARN : 1 minute to learn, 15 minutes to play; an abstract strategy game disguised as a maze chase, with enough depth that adults want to play again.
  • BUILT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY : 2 to 5 players, ages 8 and up, so kids and adults compete on equal footing at family game night.
  • A NOSTALGIC GIFT FOR PAC-MAN FANS : perfect for retro arcade lovers, birthdays, or board game night; the license fans want on a strategy game that actually holds up.

Play Coding for Carrots. Google released this Doodle on December 4, 2017, to mark 50 years of programming languages for children. It was created with Google’s Blockly team and MIT Scratch researchers, and draws on ideas associated with Scratch and Logo.

Across six levels, you guide a rabbit to collect every carrot by arranging instruction blocks. The puzzles introduce sequential instructions, turning, repetition, and loops without requiring typed code.

Controls: Drag code blocks into the programming area, snap them together in the desired order, and press the play button to run the sequence. You solve the puzzle by changing the sequence when the rabbit does not reach every carrot.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Best device: Desktop, laptop, tablet, or another device with enough screen space for block manipulation.
  • Best for: Children, parents, teachers, and curious beginners.
  • Trade-off: It is an introductory puzzle, not a complete programming course. Players uninterested in logic puzzles may find it less replayable than the score-chasing games.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

10. Pony Express

Verdict: The best pick here if you want a moving obstacle course with a concrete delivery goal.

Play Pony Express. Google released this Doodle on April 14, 2015, celebrating the Pony Express’s 155th anniversary. You ride through the landscape, collect letters, avoid obstacles, and work toward delivering 100 letters.

Controls: Follow the on-screen controls or prompt shown by the current game. Avoid assuming a particular keyboard layout because controls can vary between the archived interface and device type.

  • Best device: Desktop or mobile, depending on the current control prompt.
  • Best for: Players who want a short side-scrolling adventure rather than a sports score attack.
  • Trade-off: It offers a clearer journey than Baseball or Cricket, but not the exploration and variety of Champion Island.
  • Archive status: Official page checked August 10, 2026.

Historical correction: Some 2026 listicles call Pony Express a 2013 Doodle. Google’s archive dates it to April 14, 2015.

How to find more official Google Doodle games

  1. Open Google’s Doodles archive.
  2. Choose the Interactive Game format filter, or open the archive with the filter already applied at doodles.google/search/?format_tags=interactive+game.
  3. Search for a title or browse the interactive results.
  4. Open the individual Doodle page.
  5. Click or tap the Doodle image or play control. If the page initially shows only a description, scroll to the embedded Doodle area and look for the interactive image.

Using the official archive matters. Third-party “unblocked” pages and game roundups often mix Doodles with Google Search games, copy incorrect dates, use clones, alter controls, add redirects or advertising, or ask for unnecessary downloads and browser extensions.

What is not included in this list?

This article counts only interactive games originally published as Google Doodles and still reachable through an official Google Doodles archive page. That is why ordinary Google Search games such as Solitaire, Minesweeper, Snake, Quick Draw, and the Chrome Dinosaur are not part of the ten. They are Google games, but they are not Google Doodle archive games.

Likewise, a game appearing in a search result is not automatically an official Doodle. If Google’s archive page cannot be verified, use caution before calling a mirror or clone an official Google game.

Honorable mentions and alternatives

Lotería

Lotería is the strongest alternative if multiplayer matters more than a self-contained solo campaign. Google describes it as its second-ever multiplayer Doodle, supporting private matches with friends and random matchmaking. It launched on December 9, 2019, and Google later included it in the Popular Past Google Doodles revival series.

Best Value
BRIO – 34065 PAC-Man Labyrinth Game | Classic Wooden Games for Kids Aged 6 Years Up
  • Revisit the 1980s and the glory days of arcade gaming with this retro-inspired PAC-MAN Labyrinth maze game.
  • Exercise patience, concentration and fine motor skills as you navigate your way through this wooden maze, passing over Pac-Dots and avoiding the Ghost Gang along the way.
  • Relive childhood memories as you strive to set the best hi-score with this nostalgic game for fans of retro video games.
  • Crafted to BRIO high quality standards using FSC (FSC-C111262) sourced pine wood, high-quality plastics and fine metal details.
  • We know that children sometimes play with toys in other ways than expected. That’s why we test our products thoroughly with strict safety requirements which in many cases are tougher than the legal requirements. For players aged 6+ years.

The caveat is important: an archive page can remain accessible even when matchmaking, private rooms, or other backend services have changed. Treat multiplayer functionality as something to verify immediately before publication or play.

Scoville

Scoville is a good science-themed alternative. It celebrates chemist Wilbur Scoville and turns pepper heat into a fighting-game-style challenge.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is the creative and musical alternative. Google included it in the 2020 Popular Past Google Doodles series, and it is a better fit for readers who want to mix music rather than chase a sports score.

Rubik’s Cube, Slalom Canoe, and Halloween 2018

Rubik’s Cube, Slalom Canoe, and Google’s 2018 Halloween multiplayer Doodle are all plausible additions to a broader Doodle-games guide. They should be presented only after checking their current official interactive assets. Search results for Rubik’s Cube, in particular, often surface third-party mirrors instead of a clear official archive page. Google described Halloween 2018 as a multiplayer technical project, but current matchmaking availability should not be assumed merely because its description remains online.

If a Google Doodle game will not load

  1. Use a current browser: Try the latest available version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
  2. Reload the official page: Archived interactive assets may not initialize on the first attempt.
  3. Check extensions: Temporarily disable an extension that blocks scripts, canvas, sound, tracking resources, or embedded content.
  4. Try a private window or another browser: This can distinguish a browser-cache or extension problem from an unavailable game.
  5. Check the network: School, library, workplace, and managed networks may block game assets or embedded content.
  6. Click once for sound: Browsers often block autoplay. Click or tap the game, then check the tab’s audio setting, device volume, and mute switch.
  7. Consider the device: Champion Island and other larger Doodles may take longer to load or run less smoothly on older phones.

If the official page still does not work, do not silently replace it with a clone. Mark the game as temporarily unavailable, try again later, or choose another official archive entry. The same distinction applies to multiplayer: archive access does not prove that matchmaking or private rooms are currently functioning.

Why these ten, rather than a claimed official top ten?

Google does not publish an all-time leaderboard of Doodle games by total players. This selection therefore uses transparent editorial criteria: official Doodle status, current archive access as checked on August 10, 2026, recognizability, variety of play styles, replay value, and usefulness to different readers.

That approach also prevents the common mistake of filling a list with only similar sports mini-games. PAC-MAN covers arcade history; Champion Island provides a longer adventure; Magic Cat Academy adds gesture-based action; Baseball, Cricket, Basketball, and Soccer cover different sports formats; Garden Gnomes supplies physics; Coding for Carrots provides education; and Pony Express adds obstacle-based movement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these the 10 most-played Google Doodle games?

No official all-time player ranking was found. These are curated popular picks chosen for recognition, replay value, variety, and continued access through Google’s official Doodles archive as checked on August 10, 2026.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do I need to download anything to play these games?

The official Doodles archive is browser-based and does not present these games as paid downloads. A browser, JavaScript, and access to the embedded game assets are required, and school or workplace networks may block them.

Which Google Doodle game is best for multiplayer?

Lotería is the clearest multiplayer choice because Google describes private matches and random matchmaking. However, multiplayer backends can change independently of the archive page, so current matchmaking should be verified rather than assumed.

Why are Google Solitaire, Snake, Minesweeper, and the Chrome Dinosaur not on the list?

They are ordinary Google Search or Chrome games, not interactive Google Doodles in the scope of this article. They can be useful alternatives, but they should not be presented as Doodle archive games.

Which Doodle game is best on a phone?

Cricket is the safest quick recommendation because Google specifically describes tap-or-click batting and a mobile-friendly design. Magic Cat Academy and some Champion Island activities can also suit touchscreens, though controls and performance vary by device.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bottom Line

Start with Doodle Champion Island Games for the fullest experience, PAC-MAN for classic arcade nostalgia, or Doodle Cricket for a fast mobile-friendly round. Use Google’s Interactive Game archive as the source of truth, since third-party mirrors frequently mix official Doodles with unrelated games and clones.
