Fly
GFI Metal 100 0 0

Multiplayer server examples

enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>
admincheat GCM
admincheat Fly
admincheat GFI Metal 100 0 0

Last verified: August 10, 2026. Coverage: ARK: Survival Ascended on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Command availability and behavior can change with the game build, map, platform, server settings, or mods. This is an ASA guide, not a guide to ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK Mobile, or mod-specific commands.

Use these commands only in your own single-player world, a non-dedicated session, or a private/unofficial server where you have permission to administer the game. Studio Wildcard’s Official Network Code of Conduct prohibits hacking and exploiting mechanics for an unfair advantage; penalties can include removal of items, creatures, or structures and bans from Official Network or BattlEye-protected servers.

This guide focuses on the commands players most often need: creative mode, flight, item spawning, taming, dinosaur summoning, teleportation, time changes, world management, and private-server administration. It is not presented as a literally complete command list. The maintained ARK Official Community Wiki console-command reference and ARKCommands database are better places to check obscure or newly added commands.

#1 Best Overall
ARK: Survival Ascended - PlayStation 5
  • ARK: Survival Ascended has completely recreated and redesigned the artwork and worlds of ARK to take advantage of the latest in videogame technology, Unreal Engine 5, using high-end graphics features such as fully dynamic Global Illumination (“Lumen”), so that light bounces realistically of off surfaces and provides realistic reflections, and advanced mesh streaming (“Nanite”) of hundreds of millions of triangles for extreme detail.
  • Advanced new physics systems such as dynamic water so that every creature creates waves, ripples, splashes, and bubbles as they move through fluids, and fully interactive physical foliage where every blade of grass, bush, and tree reacts to characters, explosions, projectiles, and physics objects.
  • ARK: Survival Ascended includes access to all of ARK’s worlds, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, ARK Genesis Part 1, ARK Genesis Part 2, and more. The Island is released now, with the subsequent expansion worlds to be added at no additional cost on a regular basis.
  • Thorough Quality of Life revamps in every area: redesigned User Interfaces, dynamic navigation for intelligent creature pathfinding, Wild Babies, Photo Mode, new Camera systems, new Map system, Tracking System, new Structures and Items, new Creatures, and much more.
  • Cross-Platform Modding: Download & play new custom content created by players, including new maps, creatures, items, and game modes, through a dedicated new Mod-bowser directly within the game! Enjoy an endless stream of new ARK content as the creativity and talent of the community is fully unleashed for the first time ever across gaming platforms!

How to enable and open the ASA console

PC

  1. Enter your single-player world or multiplayer session.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Open the Advanced tab.
  4. Set Console Access to On, then save the setting.
  5. Press the key assigned to Toggle Console. The usual ASA default is the ~ key.
  6. Type the command and press Enter.

If ~ does nothing, check Settings → Keyboard for the current Toggle Console binding. Keyboard layouts, custom controls, and game updates can change which key works. The commonly repeated Tab instruction is associated with older or ARK: Survival Evolved instructions and should not be treated as the universal ASA shortcut.

PlayStation 5

  1. Enter the world and pause the game.
  2. If it is not already enabled, turn on Settings → Advanced → Console Access.
  3. Use the Console Command option displayed in the lower-left area of the pause screen. Current ASA UI references identify the touch-pad/pause-menu route as the preferred method.
  4. Enter the command and submit it.

Some older guides list L1 + R1 + Square + Triangle as a simultaneous shortcut. It may work in some UI revisions, but it is not as reliable a general instruction as selecting the current Console Command button. If a keyboard is connected to the PS5, the PC-style console key may also be available.

Xbox Series X|S

  1. Enter the world and pause the game.
  2. Turn on Settings → Advanced → Console Access if needed.
  3. Select the Console Command option shown at the bottom of the pause screen. On Xbox, the relevant controller button is the View button, marked with an overlapping-rectangle icon.
  4. Enter and submit the command.

Older instructions commonly list LB + RB + X + Y. Treat that as an alternate or legacy shortcut rather than the primary ASA method. The pause-screen command button is the best first option.

Console Access is not Admin Logging

Console Access makes the command interface available. Admin Logging records administrative commands on a server; enabling Admin Logging does not open the console or grant administrator privileges. This distinction is a common reason players think the console is broken.

Single-player commands versus multiplayer admin commands

In single-player, commands normally work without enablecheats, cheat, or admincheat. The examples below often show cheat because it makes the command easy to recognize, but single-player users can generally enter the command itself.

On a multiplayer server, the server owner or an authorized administrator must provide the server admin password. This is not necessarily the ordinary password players use to join a password-protected server.

enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>

After authenticating, use admincheat before administrative commands:

admincheat Fly
admincheat GFI Metal 100 0 0
admincheat SaveWorld

The community reference also documents cheat as a multiplayer prefix, but admincheat is the clearest convention for server administration. Authentication generally has to be repeated after reconnecting. If your server host uses a control panel, verify or set the admin password in the server configuration rather than confusing it with the player-join password. See the Nitrado ASA admin guide or your host’s documentation for setup-specific details.

ASA command syntax: the rules that prevent most mistakes

  • Angle brackets are placeholders. Replace <Quantity> or <PlayerID> with a value; do not type the angle brackets.
  • Command names are not case-sensitive. Conventional capitalization such as SaveWorld improves readability.
  • Boolean values can generally be written as true/false or 1/0.
  • Use quotation marks around names containing spaces and around many blueprint paths or creature class strings.
  • Target commands use your crosshair. Put the intended creature, structure, or player under the crosshair unless the command explicitly accepts an ID or name.
  • Distances are game units. They are generally measured in centimeters, so teleport and spawn offsets may be less intuitive than they first appear.
  • Run commands separately while testing. ASA supports chaining with | where supported, for example cheat LeaveMeAlone | cheat Fly | cheat SaveWorld. On a server, each command in a chain may need its own administrative prefix. Separate commands make failures much easier to identify.

Before experimenting, use SaveWorld and make an external copy of the save when possible. Saving is not a substitute for a backup and does not provide a universal undo function.

Best ARK: Survival Ascended commands for beginners

The following table covers the practical starting set. Commands marked as destructive should not be treated as routine quality-of-life cheats.

Command Purpose Example Important detail
GCM or GiveCreativeMode Toggles Creative Mode for the executing player. cheat GCM Creative Mode changes survival rules; it is more than temporary invulnerability.
God Prevents most incoming damage. cheat God Do not interpret it as protection from every survival condition; older references specifically note drowning as an exception.
InfiniteStats Stops food, water, oxygen, stamina, and related survival stats from decreasing. cheat InfiniteStats It is not the same as God mode.
LeaveMeAlone Convenience bundle combining common God, InfiniteStats, and enemy-invisibility effects. cheat LeaveMeAlone It is not a save backup or progression rollback.
Fly Enables free flight. cheat Fly Use Walk to return to normal movement.
Walk Disables flight and/or ghost movement. cheat Walk Use it after Fly or Ghost.
Ghost Enables no-clip movement through solid objects. cheat Ghost Be careful around caves, terrain meshes, water, and structures.
EnemyInvisible Causes creatures to ignore the player. cheat EnemyInvisible true It does not make the player invisible to other players.
Teleport Moves the player forward until an obstacle or terrain is reached. cheat Teleport Risky near cliffs, caves, water, and hostile areas.
TPCoords Teleports to latitude, longitude, and altitude. cheat TPCoords 50 50 500 Safe altitude and coordinate behavior vary by map.
AddExperience Adds experience to the player or mounted creature. cheat AddExperience 10000 0 1 The final arguments control tribe-sharing behavior.
SetTimeOfDay Changes world time. cheat SetTimeOfDay 12:00 Use HH:MM format.
SaveWorld Saves the current world. cheat SaveWorld Useful before testing, but not an external backup.
DestroyWildDinos Removes wild creatures so the world can repopulate them. cheat DestroyWildDinos Destructive to the current wild population.
Kill Kills the targeted creature, player, or structure. cheat Kill The correct target must be under the crosshair.
ToggleInfiniteAmmo Toggles unlimited ammunition. cheat ToggleInfiniteAmmo Run it again to toggle it off.
SetCheatPlayer true/false Toggles the cheat/player information overlay. cheat SetCheatPlayer true This does not grant server-admin access.

Item and resource commands

GFI: the easiest way to spawn items

For most common resources and items, GFI is the most convenient option:

cheat GFI <ItemClass> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint>

For example:

cheat GFI Metal 100 0 0

This requests 100 metal items at quality 0. The final argument controls whether the result is a finished item or a blueprint:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • 0 or false: give the item.
  • 1 or true: give the blueprint.

The item-class value is usually a partial identifier. That is convenient, but it can match the wrong object, particularly when mods add similarly named classes. If GFI produces an unexpected result, search for a more unique code in the official GFI-code reference or use a full blueprint path with GiveItem.

Precise and bulk item commands

cheat GiveResources
cheat GiveAllMeat
cheat GiveColors
cheat GiveBossItems
cheat GiveEngrams
cheat GiveEngramsTekOnly
cheat GiveItemSet <Tier>
cheat GiveWeaponSet <Tier> <Quality>
cheat GiveArmorSet <Tier> <Quality>
cheat GiveItem <BlueprintPath> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint>
cheat GiveItemNum <ItemID> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint>
cheat GiveItemToPlayer <PlayerID> <BlueprintPath> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint>
cheat GiveItemNumToPlayer <PlayerID> <ItemID> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint>

Examples include:

cheat GiveResources
cheat GiveEngrams
cheat GiveEngramsTekOnly
cheat GiveWeaponSet 3 Ascendant
cheat GiveArmorSet 2 Mastercraft

GiveItem uses a full blueprint path and is preferable when a partial GFI code is ambiguous. GiveItemNum uses the older numeric item-ID format; use an updated database rather than relying on an old copied ID list. The player-targeting variants require the correct player ID.

Set commands commonly use tiers corresponding to primitive, basic, advanced, and Tek weapon sets. Armor categories documented for set commands include Cloth, Chitin, Metal or Flak, Tek, Hide, Fur, Desert, Ghillie, Riot, Scuba, and Hazard. Common quality names include Primitive, Ramshackle, Apprentice, Journeyman, Mastercraft, Ascendant, and Alpha. These labels belong to the set-command syntax; do not assume that the same quality scale maps exactly onto every numeric GFI quality value.

For current item paths, numeric IDs, GFI codes, and command-specific parameters, check ARKCommands’ GFI documentation and the official community GFI reference.

Dinosaur spawning and taming commands

Taming commands

cheat DoTame
cheat ForceTame
cheat ForceTameAOE <Radius>
  • DoTame tames the creature under your crosshair when it is normally tameable.
  • ForceTame instantly tames the targeted creature and allows riding without a saddle.
  • ForceTameAOE force-tames creatures within a radius and can affect a populated area, making it especially dangerous to use casually.

DoTame and ForceTame are not interchangeable. Force-taming can affect creatures that are not designed for ordinary taming and may produce unusual behavior or an unexpected riding setup.

Summoning and spawning

cheat Summon <EntityID>
cheat SummonTamed <EntityID>
cheat GMSummon "<CreatureClass>" <Level>
cheat SpawnDino "<BlueprintPath>" <Distance> <YOffset> <ZOffset> <Level>

The commands serve different purposes:

  • Summon: creates a wild creature, usually at a random level.
  • SummonTamed: creates a tamed creature but does not provide the same exact-level workflow as GMSummon.
  • GMSummon: creates a tamed creature at the specified level using its creature class.
  • SpawnDino: uses a full blueprint path and gives more control over spawn distance, offsets, and level.

Example:

cheat GMSummon "Dodo_Character_BP_C" 150

Creature IDs differ between ordinary creatures, variants, DLC creatures, and mod creatures. A current Dodo reference uses Dodo_Character_BP_C, but creature class names should be looked up rather than guessed. Use the official Creature IDs reference or Dododex’s creature admin-command page.

Advanced creature commands

cheat ForcePoop
cheat ChangeSize <SizeMultiplier>
cheat CryoMyTarget
cheat ClearCryoSickness
cheat Dino InfiniteFuel
cheat Dino InfiniteGas
cheat Dino InfiniteBlink
cheat Dino TitanMode

These are creature- or creature-type-specific and are less dependable across every creature, map, and current build than the standard movement, taming, and spawning commands. Test them in a disposable world before using them on an important save. The maintained command database has the latest indexed details for these commands.

Player, movement, and teleport commands

cheat Fly
cheat Walk
cheat Ghost
cheat Teleport
cheat TeleportPlayerIDToMe <PlayerID>
cheat TeleportPlayerNameToMe <PlayerName>
cheat TeleportToPlayer <PlayerID>
cheat TeleportToPlayerName <PlayerName>
cheat TPCoords <Latitude> <Longitude> <Altitude>
cheat CopyCoordsToClipboard

Fly lets your character move freely through the air. Ghost is no-clip movement through solid objects and is therefore more dangerous around terrain, caves, structures, meshes, water, and boss arenas. Use Walk to return to normal movement after either command; before doing so, move to a safe position if you are inside terrain.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Teleport moves you forward until the game reaches an obstacle or terrain. It can put you in water, inside a cave wall, or on the wrong side of a cliff. TPCoords uses latitude, longitude, and altitude, but safe values vary by map. Test coordinates on a separate save.

For multiplayer movement:

  • TeleportPlayerIDToMe brings another player to the administrator.
  • TeleportToPlayer moves the administrator to another player.
  • The name variants can be useful, but spaces and platform-specific characters make numeric player IDs more reliable.

ASA uses EOS-related player identifiers in cross-platform administration contexts, so do not assume every player has a usable Steam ID. Use ListPlayers first, and see the server-configuration reference for ID-related commands. CopyCoordsToClipboard is particularly useful on PC for recording a development location or reporting exact coordinates.

World, weather, time, and progression commands

cheat SetTimeOfDay 12:00
cheat CE <WeatherType>
cheat OpenMap <MapName>
cheat SaveWorld
cheat PlayersOnly
cheat GameCommand <Command>
cheat AddExperience <Amount> <FromTribeShare> <PreventSharingWithTribe>
cheat ClearTutorials
cheat HideTutorial <TutorialIndex>

SetTimeOfDay 12:00 uses the expected HH:MM format. PlayersOnly pauses or limits world activity while players remain active; because it changes the simulation state, remember to toggle it back when finished.

AddExperience is commonly used as:

cheat AddExperience 10000 0 1

The first value is the amount of XP. The later values control whether the experience comes from tribe sharing and whether it is prevented from being shared with the tribe. Check the command reference if you need a particular sharing result.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

CE is map-specific. Do not copy a single universal weather list: documented weather arguments differ among maps such as The Island, Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Aberration, Extinction, and Valguero, and later map additions may introduce different requirements. Consult the map-labeled weather coverage and verify the current map/build before using it.

Private and unofficial server administration

This section is for owners and authorized administrators of private or unofficial servers. It does not provide a way to administer an Official Network server.

Authenticate first:

enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>

Then run commands with admincheat:

admincheat ListPlayers
admincheat Broadcast <Message>
admincheat ServerChat <Message>
admincheat KickPlayer <PlayerID>
admincheat BanPlayer <PlayerID>
admincheat AllowPlayerToJoinNoCheck <PlayerID>
admincheat DisallowPlayerToJoinNoCheck <PlayerID>
admincheat ClearPlayerInventory <PlayerID> <ClearInventory> <ClearSlotItems> <ClearEquippedItems>
admincheat ForcePlayerToJoinTargetTribe <PlayerID>
admincheat MakeTribeAdmin
admincheat MakeTribeFounder
admincheat RemoveTribeAdmin
admincheat SaveWorld
admincheat DoRestartLevel

ListPlayers is usually the first useful command because it identifies currently connected players and their IDs. Use those IDs for kicks, bans, teleports, inventory operations, and tribe commands. Player names are less reliable when they contain spaces or platform-specific characters.

Be especially careful with ClearPlayerInventory, tribe ownership changes, bans, and DoRestartLevel. Run SaveWorld first and keep a server backup. A reconnect may require you to authenticate again.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Commands that can change or damage a save

Save before testing. Use SaveWorld before a destructive experiment and make an external copy of the single-player or server save whenever possible.

There is no universal undo command for state-changing cheats. Turning off God Mode, Creative Mode, or InfiniteStats does not remove items, XP, tames, deaths, structures, tribe changes, or progression that was created while the command was active.

Treat the following as potentially irreversible without a backup:

  • DestroyWildDinos, which removes the current wild population before repopulation.
  • DestroyStructures and other destruction commands.
  • ClearPlayerInventory.
  • Tribe-ownership and tribe-administration commands.
  • Boss, ascension, or progression-related commands.
  • Player bans and whitelist changes.
  • Level restarts and commands that alter broad world state.

For unfamiliar commands, create a disposable world, test the command there, and run commands separately instead of chaining them.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Achievements and trophies

Do not rely on blanket claims that console commands always disable achievements or PlayStation trophies—or that they never do. Public player reports conflict, and the result may vary by platform, command, session, save, and whether Creative Mode or other administrative features were activated. No authoritative Studio Wildcard source located for this guide establishes one universal ASA rule.

If achievements or trophies matter to you, test commands on a separate save and verify the result on your platform. Keep your achievement-focused survival save separate from an experimental command world.

Troubleshooting ASA console commands

The console will not open

  1. Confirm that you are playing ARK: Survival Ascended, not ARK: Survival Evolved.
  2. Enter a world before looking for the command interface.
  3. Turn on Settings → Advanced → Console Access → On.
  4. On PC, check Settings → Keyboard for the Toggle Console key.
  5. On PS5 or Xbox, pause the game and look for the lower-left or bottom Console Command button.
  6. If a keyboard is connected to a console, try the keyboard console key.
  7. Restart the game after changing the setting if the interface does not update.

Do not enable only Admin Logging; it records commands but does not open the command interface.

The command appears to run, but nothing happens

  • On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first.
  • Use admincheat before the command.
  • Confirm that you used the admin password, not the normal player-join password.
  • Check that the command is supported on the current map, platform, server, and build.
  • Check spelling, spaces, quotation marks, and argument order.
  • Test with a harmless command such as admincheat Fly.
  • For a target command, put the intended creature or structure under the crosshair.
  • For player commands, use the correct current player ID; do not assume a Steam ID applies to every cross-platform player.
  • Reconnect and authenticate again if the server session changed.

My admin password fails

Verify that you are using the server’s configured admin password, not the password players type to join. Check the host’s server configuration, remove accidental spaces, authenticate after entering the world, and reconnect if necessary. If you do not own or administer the server, ask its owner for access rather than attempting to bypass authentication.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

GFI gives the wrong item

GFI searches by a partial item or class name. A short value such as Metal can collide with another matching class, especially after mods are installed. Search for a unique GFI code in the GFI database, verify the result in the community reference, or use GiveItem with a full blueprint path.

The summoned creature has the wrong level or type

Use the command that matches the result you want:

  • Summon creates a wild creature and usually does not give exact-level control.
  • SummonTamed creates a tamed creature but does not offer the same level-control workflow as GMSummon.
  • GMSummon "CreatureClass" Level creates a tamed creature at the specified level.
  • SpawnDino "BlueprintPath" Distance YOffset ZOffset Level is the more precise blueprint-path method.

Check the creature’s exact class or blueprint path in the Creature IDs reference. DLC, creature variants, and mods can use different identifiers.

I am stuck in terrain after Fly or Ghost

Do not immediately switch back to normal movement while embedded in terrain. First try to move upward or sideways into a safe open area:

cheat Fly
cheat Walk

If you remain stuck, use a safe TPCoords location or carefully use Teleport. Avoid experimenting inside caves, meshes, boss arenas, or water, and save before using no-clip movement.

A command worked before an update but not now

Recheck the command in the maintained ASA console reference and confirm that the server and client are on compatible builds. A patch may remove, restrict, rename, or alter a command. This is particularly important for visual and performance-related commands.

Graphics commands no longer work

Do not assume that foliage-removal, water-removal, shadow, fog, or similar visual-advantage commands remain available. ASA patches have disabled some commands used to gain visual advantages, and behavior can differ by platform, map, server, and build. For example, see the documented changes in the ASA patch notes and related patch documentation. Use normal in-game graphics settings and platform-specific troubleshooting instead of relying on an old cheat list.

Where to find current item and creature IDs

A static article cannot safely include every item path, creature class, DLC identifier, mod identifier, server command, debugging command, and map-specific weather argument. Use these maintained references when a command needs an ID:

Always confirm that an ID belongs to ASA and to the map, DLC, or mod you are using. An identifier copied from an ASE guide may not be a reliable ASA identifier.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do console commands work on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

Yes. ARK: Survival Ascended supports console commands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Turn on Settings → Advanced → Console Access, pause the game, and use the Console Command option shown on the pause screen. Older four-button shortcuts may work in some UI revisions, but the pause-menu option is the preferred current method.

Do I need an admin password in single-player?

Normally, no. In single-player, enable Console Access and enter the command. An admin password is required when you are administering a multiplayer server, and it is separate from the regular password used to join that server.

What is the difference between cheat and admincheat?

In single-player, commands generally work without either prefix. On a multiplayer server, authenticate with enablecheats and use admincheat before administrative commands. The community reference also documents cheat in multiplayer, but admincheat is the clearest convention for server administration.

Why does GFI give me the wrong item?

GFI searches by a partial item or class name, so a short or ambiguous value can match another object. Use a more unique GFI code, check a maintained item database, or use GiveItem with the full blueprint path. Modded servers make name collisions more likely.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do I spawn a specific dinosaur level?

Use GMSummon with the creature class and level, such as cheat GMSummon “Dodo_Character_BP_C” 150. Summon generally creates a wild creature without the same exact-level control. SpawnDino provides more control when you have the full blueprint path.

How do I turn Fly off?

Enter cheat Walk in single-player, or admincheat Walk after authenticating on a server. If you are inside terrain, move to a safe open position before returning to normal movement.

Can I use commands on an Official server?

Do not use commands to gain an unfair advantage on the Official Network. These practical instructions are for single-player, non-dedicated sessions, or private/unofficial servers that you own or are authorized to administer. Consult Studio Wildcard’s Code of Conduct for the applicable rules.

Do console commands disable achievements or trophies?

There is no authoritative universal ASA rule establishing that all commands always disable—or never disable—achievements and trophies. Public reports conflict, and the result can vary by platform, command, save, and session. If trophies or achievements matter, test on a separate save and verify the result on your platform.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why did an old graphics command stop working?

ASA patches have disabled some commands used for visual advantages, and command availability can vary by platform, map, server, and build. Check current ASA patch notes and the maintained console-command reference instead of assuming an ASE-era graphics command still works.

Where can I find current item and creature IDs?

Use the ARK Official Community Wiki’s GFI Codes and Creature IDs pages, ARKCommands, or Dododex’s admin-command database. Verify that the entry is for ASA and matches your map, DLC, or mod.

The Bottom Line

For a quick, safe starting point: enable Console Access, use GCM for Creative Mode, Fly and Walk for movement, and GFI Item Quantity Quality BlueprintFlag for items. On a private server, authenticate with the separate admin password first and use admincheat. Save and back up before destructive commands, and never use administrative commands to gain an unfair advantage on the Official Network.
