The fastest way to cure full vampirism in Oblivion Remastered is to activate the Font of Renewal at Deepscorn Hollow. Enter through the underwater hollow log southeast of Leyawiin, collect Purgeblood Salt from the nearby crystal formation, and use the font in the pool. If you want the traditional quest and its associated reward instead, follow the Vampire Cure quest—but do not combine the two methods after starting it.
The fastest way to cure full vampirism in Oblivion Remastered is to use the Font of Renewal in Deepscorn Hollow. Travel to the hollow log southeast of Leyawiin, enter the underwater passage, collect Purgeblood Salt from the nearby Purgeblood Crystal Formation, and activate the Font of Renewal in the pool. The cure is immediate once you confirm the prompt.
There is also a traditional Vampire Cure quest involving Raminus Polus, Count Janus Hassildor, and the witch Melisande. Choose that route if you want to complete the story and receive its associated quest reward. Do not start the quest and then use the Font of Renewal unless you are willing to risk making the quest impossible to finish.
Fastest cure: use the Font of Renewal
This is the best method if your only goal is to remove vampirism as quickly as possible. Deepscorn Hollow is available in the remaster because the included content listing includes the Vile Lair downloadable content.

Step-by-step
- Travel to Deepscorn Hollow. It is in the far southeast of Cyrodiil, southeast of Leyawiin.
- Find the underwater entrance. The entrance is inside a hollow log. Enter the water and use the passage inside the log.
- Proceed to the Deepscorn Cloister. Continue through the interior until you reach the room containing the Font of Renewal.
- Collect Purgeblood Salt. In the room near the font, interact with the Purgeblood Crystal Formation to obtain the salt.
- Enter the pool and activate the Font of Renewal. Interact with the obelisk or font in the middle of the pool.
- Confirm the cure. Accept the on-screen prompt to remove vampirism.
According to current gameplay documentation, the Font can be used again if your character becomes a vampire later. This makes it the most convenient option for players who want a repeatable, low-preparation cure rather than a long ingredient quest.
Important: do not mix the Font with the Vampire Cure quest
The Font of Renewal is an alternative cure, not simply a faster step in the traditional quest. If you begin the Vampire Cure quest and then cure yourself at Deepscorn Hollow, the quest may no longer progress because its later stages expect you to remain a vampire.

If you want the traditional quest, make a separate manual save before speaking to its first quest giver. Keeping several rotating saves is especially useful if a quest stage fails to update.
Traditional method: complete the Vampire Cure quest
The long-form cure begins at the Arcane University and requires several ingredients, a quest-specific blood sample, and a boss kill. It is slower than the Font, but it is the correct route for players who want the dialogue, story, and reward connected to the Vampire Cure quest.

1. Speak to Raminus Polus
Go to the Arcane University in the Imperial City and select the dialogue option concerning vampirism. Raminus Polus points you toward Count Janus Hassildor in Skingrad.

2. Speak to Count Hassildor
Visit Count Janus Hassildor in Skingrad. He directs you to Melisande, a witch who lives at Drakelowe near the Corbolo River.
3. Bring Melisande five empty Grand Soul Gems
Melisande initially asks for five empty Grand Soul Gems. Deliver those before gathering the rest of the cure ingredients.
Grand Soul Gems can be difficult to find early in the game. Check magical loot, appropriate vendors, and known containers or locations rather than assuming that ordinary filled soul gems will satisfy the requirement. The quest specifically calls for empty Grand Soul Gems.

After receiving the next stage from Melisande, collect the following:

The Argonian blood and Hindaril’s ashes are not ordinary ingredients that you can reliably substitute from your inventory. Obtain them through the actions specified by the quest.

5. Wait 24 in-game hours
After delivering all the required materials, wait 24 in-game hours and return to Melisande. She gives you two potions: one for your character and one intended for Count Hassildor’s wife.
6. Drink the correct potion
Drink the potion intended for the player to cure your vampirism. Deliver the other potion to Count Hassildor if you are completing the rest of the quest. Check the potion names and quest instructions carefully so you do not consume the one meant for Hassildor’s wife.
What if you are only infected, not yet a full vampire?
Early infection and established vampirism are different states. If your character has only contracted Porphyric Hemophilia, some guides recommend using a Cure Disease potion, a Cure Disease spell, or chapel healing before the infection develops into full vampirism.
However, reports differ on how consistently those original-game methods work in the remastered release. Once the character is visibly a full vampire, do not depend on ordinary Cure Disease effects. Use the Font of Renewal or complete the Vampire Cure quest instead.

The original Vampire Cure quest had known progression problems, including cases where Melisande failed to provide the Cure Vampirism potion. The remastered release also has community-reported issues involving Count Hassildor, Hal-Liurz, and the Chamber of the Lost.

- Save before beginning the traditional quest. Use a manual save rather than relying only on an autosave.
- Keep multiple rotating saves. This gives you a way back if a dialogue or objective fails to update.
- Do not use the Font after starting the quest if you want to preserve the quest’s completion.
- Check your inventory for the exact requirements. Five empty Grand Soul Gems are required at the first ingredient stage; ordinary soul gems may not count.
- Allow the full 24 in-game hours to pass after handing over the final ingredients before returning to Melisande.
- If a quest stage is stuck, do not immediately overwrite your only save. Reload an earlier rotating save and repeat the relevant hand-in or dialogue sequence.
Which cure should you use?
Use Deepscorn Hollow if you want the fastest, simplest solution. It requires travel and one special item from the Purgeblood Crystal Formation, but it avoids the Grand Soul Gems, ingredient hunt, Argonian-blood objective, Hindaril fight, and waiting period.
