For a fast local-stock check, start with the Best Buy ROG Xbox Ally listing. For a manufacturer purchase, compare the ASUS checkout total rather than assuming the two displayed prices will produce the same delivered cost.
ROG Xbox Ally X: $999.99
ASUS lists the black ROG Xbox Ally X at $999.99 on its US ROG eShop with a Buy Now path. Best Buy also lists the Ally X under SKU 6642253 and identifies it as sold by Best Buy. However, the captured Best Buy page did not expose a complete ZIP-specific stock message, so it is safer to describe the product as listed and available to check—not as universally in stock.
Xbox.com is another official US route identified in Xbox’s launch guidance. If you are comparing offers, use the exact model name and check that the listing is for the Ally X rather than the less expensive white base Ally.

Where to buy the ROG Xbox Ally in the UK
ROG Xbox Ally X: £849.00 to £849.99
The Ally X is currently easiest to verify through ASUS UK and Currys. ASUS displays an eStore price of £849.00 and a Buy Now path. Currys displays £849.99 and identifies the configuration as the Ryzen Z2 Extreme model with 24GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a 7-inch 120Hz display.
Currys also displays free standard delivery over £40 and selected next-day delivery information. Those options can vary by postcode, item allocation and the delivery option selected, so treat them as checkout-dependent rather than a nationwide promise. The Currys ROG Xbox Ally X product page is the most useful UK major-retailer check alongside ASUS.
If you prefer the manufacturer route, the buy direct from ASUS option shows the lower displayed price in this snapshot. Compare the final checkout total, delivery date and return terms rather than choosing on the headline price alone.

Base ROG Xbox Ally
ASUS UK presents the white base Ally and a purchase flow, but the captured page also includes an availability-notification element. That means it is a live route to check, not proof of universal UK stock. Currys maintains a dedicated ASUS ROG Xbox Ally retail area covering both the base Ally and Ally X; select your delivery or collection location on the relevant product page to see the current base-model status.
No reliable UK base-Ally price was exposed in the captured research, so this guide does not invent one. If the base model is unavailable, do not assume the Ally X listing is interchangeable: the X is a different, higher-spec product at a different price.
Where to buy the ROG Xbox Ally in Canada
Base ROG Xbox Ally: CAD $749.00 at ASUS or CAD $799.99 at Best Buy
ASUS Canada lists the base ROG Xbox Ally at CAD $749.00, reduced from a displayed reference price of CAD $799.00. Best Buy Canada’s collection page shows CAD $799.99 and includes the product in its in-stock results. The individual Best Buy page says the device is sold and shipped by Best Buy.
Start with ASUS Canada’s direct ROG Xbox Ally listing if the lower displayed price is still active, then compare it with the Best Buy ROG Xbox Ally page if you need a local pickup or a retailer-specific delivery option. Check the final Canadian checkout totals: displayed prices may not include every tax, shipping charge or promotion condition.
ROG Xbox Ally X: CAD $1,299.99 at ASUS or CAD $1,499.99 at Best Buy
ASUS Canada lists the Ally X at CAD $1,299.99 with a Buy Now path, reduced from a displayed reference price of CAD $1,499.00. Best Buy Canada lists the model at CAD $1,499.99, and its collection page includes the Ally X among its in-stock results. Best Buy’s individual page describes the item as sold and shipped by Best Buy.
The CAD $200 difference between the captured ASUS and Best Buy prices is large enough to verify carefully. It could reflect a temporary ASUS promotion, retailer pricing, different page-refresh times, or differences in how tax and shipping are presented. Treat the checkout total—not the reference price or collection-page headline—as authoritative.
For the lower displayed direct price, check ASUS Canada’s ROG Xbox Ally X page first. For a major-retailer alternative, check the Best Buy ROG Xbox Ally X listing and enter your postal code to confirm delivery or pickup.

Make sure you are buying the right model
The names are similar, but the two handhelds are not the same configuration. The simplest visual check is color: the base ROG Xbox Ally is white, while the ROG Xbox Ally X is black. Confirm the model family as well:
Recommended Free Tools
| Feature | ROG Xbox Ally | ROG Xbox Ally X |
|---|---|---|
| Model family | RC73YA | RC73XA |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen Z2 A | AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme |
| Memory | 16GB | 24GB |
| Storage | 512GB | 1TB |
| Display | 7-inch, 1080p, 120Hz | 7-inch, 1080p, 120Hz |
| Battery | 60Wh | 80Wh |
Retailer configuration codes can be longer than the manufacturer family names. For example, the US Best Buy base listing uses model code RC73YA-XB_ALLY.Z2A.16 and SKU 6642251. The US Best Buy Ally X listing uses model code RC73XA-XB_ALLYX.Z2E.24 and SKU 6642253. Canadian pages may use slightly different suffixes, so match the core RC73YA or RC73XA family and the specification table.
Which ROG Xbox Ally should you buy?
Choose the base ROG Xbox Ally if you want the Xbox-oriented Windows handheld experience at the lowest official launch price and are comfortable with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage. It is the more economical option in all three regions where a directly comparable price was captured.
Choose the ROG Xbox Ally X if your priority is the higher-end configuration: the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of memory, 1TB of storage and an 80Wh battery. Those specifications make it the more appropriate search target for buyers who expect to run more demanding PC games or want more capacity before adding a microSD card. This is a specification-based buying recommendation, not a claim based on independent hands-on testing.
Both models use Windows 11, offer the Xbox full-screen experience and retain access to Windows PC storefronts including Steam and Epic Games Store. Both also support Xbox cloud gaming and Xbox remote play, subject to compatible services, internet access, account requirements and regional availability.
What to check before paying
- Confirm the model and color. RC73YA is the base white Ally; RC73XA is the black Ally X. Check the RAM and storage figures as well as the product name.
- Enter your location. Best Buy availability can change by US ZIP code or Canadian postal code. Currys delivery and collection options can change by UK postcode. A product page alone is not a nationwide stock guarantee.
- Separate displayed price from final price. The figures in this guide are captured displayed prices. Confirm tax, delivery, collection fees, discounts and the final total at checkout.
- Check who is selling and shipping the device. The cited Canadian Best Buy pages identify Best Buy as the seller and shipper. On any marketplace or search result, verify the seller before ordering.
- Do not assume Xbox content is bundled. The Xbox full-screen interface does not mean every Xbox game or cloud feature is included with the hardware. Game Pass plan requirements, cloud-game availability, account rules, catalogues and regional support can vary. Verify the terms for your account and country.
- Plan for storage. The base model has 512GB and the Ally X has 1TB, with usable space lower after Windows and installed software. Both support expandable storage through a microSD slot, but choose a compatible high-speed card rather than assuming every card will deliver the same game-loading performance.
- Review returns and warranty terms. These policies are controlled by the retailer and region. Read them before ordering, especially if you are choosing delivery rather than local pickup.
Useful accessories
Accessories should come after you have secured the handheld itself, particularly while stock and regional prices are changing.
- ROG Xbox Ally premium case: ASUS lists the 2-in-1 Premium Case at $69.99 in the US. Regional pricing and availability were not established here, so confirm that the case is specifically compatible with the model you buy.
- ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock: ASUS describes this dock as a way to connect the handheld to a TV and accessories. A current regional price or stock signal was not established in this check, so treat it as an accessory to investigate rather than a confirmed in-stock recommendation.
- microSD storage: Both models have expandable storage. No specific card brand or model is recommended here because compatibility, capacity and sustained game performance should be checked separately.
If Windows performance problems appear after setup
The Ally and Ally X are Windows 11 PCs as well as Xbox-oriented handhelds. Start with Windows Update, the manufacturer’s support and driver tools, a restart and a check of the selected power or performance mode before buying extra software.

If those steps do not resolve a genuine Windows issue, Outbyte PC Repair is an optional tool to review, not a requirement.
For readers who specifically want an optional third-party tool, Windows PC repair and performance troubleshooting from Outbyte is a separate Windows PC Repair product that documents Windows 11 support and describes itself as complementary to antivirus software. It is not required for either ROG Xbox Ally, is not an ASUS or Xbox endorsement, and should not be treated as a substitute for retailer, ASUS or Microsoft support. Verify the product terms and suitability for your system before installing any repair utility.

A current, region-specific official Amazon listing with dependable stock information was not established in this availability check. Amazon search results may contain third-party offers or different regional listings, so do not treat an Amazon result as confirmed stock until the exact model, seller, delivery date and final price are visible for your country.
