Start with this diagnostic checklist
The cdrtxt110.dll error usually belongs to an old Corel application, not to Windows itself. Before replacing anything, check:
- Which program fails: CorelDRAW, WordPerfect Office, or another Corel application
- When the error appears: at startup, when opening a document, or after an update or security scan
- The exact message: missing file, failed load, bad image, or “specified module could not be found”
- The application architecture: a 32-bit Corel program can run on 64-bit Windows and still require its own 32-bit files and dependencies
- The installation path: confirm which executable the shortcut launches
- Recent changes: antivirus quarantine, cleanup software, disk problems, manual deletion, or a partial reinstall
Do not begin by downloading cdrtxt110.dll from a random DLL archive or copying it into C:WindowsSystem32. That often installs the wrong file and leaves the damaged Corel installation untouched.
What is cdrtxt110.dll?
cdrtxt110.dll is identified as Corel Text Manager DLL, an application file associated with Corel’s text-management components. The name is strongly associated with an older Corel and WordPerfect generation. An archived file listing places the exact file in:
C:Program FilesWordPerfect Office 11ProgramsCdrTxt110.dll
The file is also attributed to CorelDRAW and Corel Corporation in software metadata. That attribution does not prove that every CorelDRAW release contains this exact DLL, however. The 110 suffix is an important clue that the file belongs to a particular older product generation.

It is not a normal Windows component. Windows should not need cdrtxt110.dll in either of these folders:
C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64
The correct location is normally the owning application’s program directory. If the file is missing there, repair the application that requested it.
What the error messages mean
You may see one of these commonly reported variants:
- “The program can’t start because cdrtxt110.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “The file cdrtxt110.dll is missing.”
- “Cdrtxt110.dll not found.”
- “Error loading cdrtxt110.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “Failed to load cdrtxt110.dll.”
These messages do not all mean the same thing.
The DLL is missing
The application may have an incomplete installation, or security software may have removed the file. A failed update, disk problem, or manual deletion can produce the same symptom.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The specified module could not be found
The named DLL may actually be present. Windows may instead be unable to find a dependency required by cdrtxt110.dll. Repair the application before installing runtimes at random.
The file is not designed to run on Windows
A bad-image message generally indicates corruption, an incompatible or mixed-version binary, tampering, or an architecture mismatch. Replacing only the named file can create another mismatch.
Fix 1: Repair the affected Corel or WordPerfect installation
This is the safest and most likely repair. The installer restores missing or damaged application files while preserving the matching product version.
WordPerfect Office repair steps
If the error appears when starting WordPerfect Office, use this procedure:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Close WordPerfect and every other Corel application.
- Press Windows key + R.

- Press Enter.
- Select WordPerfect Office in the installed-program list.
- Choose Uninstall/Change.
- When the InstallShield wizard opens, select Repair.
- Complete the wizard.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch WordPerfect again from its normal shortcut.
A successful repair should either restore CdrTxt110.dll to the WordPerfect program directory or correct the installation references that were preventing the application from loading it.
CorelDRAW or another Corel product
For a newer Corel product, open:
- Start
- Control Panel
- Programs
- Programs and Features
- Double-click the affected Corel product
- Select Repair
- Finish the wizard and restart Windows
If there is no Repair choice, choose Change or Modify and look for a repair option in the installer.

Do not repair a similarly named product by mistake. If multiple Corel applications are installed, check the error dialog and the shortcut target to identify the program that actually requested the file.
How to verify the repair
After restarting:
- Launch the application using its normal shortcut.
- Open the document or feature that previously caused the error.
- Confirm that the same error does not return.
- If possible, inspect the program folder and check whether the DLL was restored there.
If the application still fails, do not copy a replacement DLL from another installation. Continue with the checks below.

Fix 2: Check whether antivirus software quarantined the file
Security software can remove or quarantine an old DLL if it considers the file suspicious. That does not automatically mean the file was malicious, but an old application binary should not be restored blindly.
Check Windows Security Protection history
- Open Start.
- Type Windows Security and open it.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections involving the Corel or WordPerfect program folder.
- Expand a detection to view its path and action.
If the detection identifies the original Corel installation path, verify all of the following before restoring anything:
- The file came from your legitimate Corel installation
- The original program is still installed
- The path matches the application directory
- The file was not downloaded separately
- The installation has not been altered or mixed with files from another release
Microsoft warns that allowing a quarantined item can expose the device if it is genuinely malicious. If you cannot verify the file, leave it quarantined and repair or reinstall the application from its original media or legitimate Corel download.
Run a full scan if you see several unexpected detections, unexplained browser changes, or other signs of tampering.

Use this step when repair fails, the installer is damaged, or the file was permanently removed.
- Open Control Panel → Programs and Features.
- Select the affected Corel or WordPerfect product.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Restart Windows when prompted.
- Reinstall from the original Corel media, an account download, or another legitimate installation source.
- Install the same product generation rather than substituting a newer or older DLL.
- Apply the official updates available for that product.
- Restart Windows and test the program.
Keep the original installer and product key available. Very old Corel releases may require their original activation method, and modern Windows compatibility can remain a separate issue after the DLL has been restored.
If you no longer have the installer or cannot activate the product, use Corel’s official support and account resources. Do not use a standalone DLL as a substitute for the complete application.
Fix 4: Check for a wrong-version or architecture mismatch
A DLL with the correct filename can still be the wrong binary. This happens when files from different Corel releases are combined or when a 32-bit application is given an unrelated 64-bit component.

- Right-click the application shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Shortcut tab.
- Review the Target field.
- Select Open File Location if available.
- Confirm that the shortcut points to the intended Corel installation.
If more than one copy of the program is installed, the shortcut may launch an old copy while you are repairing a different one.
Understand 32-bit and 64-bit Windows
A 32-bit Corel application can run on 64-bit Windows. Its DLLs normally remain in the Corel program directory rather than being copied to System32 or SysWOW64.
The relevant architecture is the application and its dependencies, not merely the Windows edition. If the Corel installer identifies an x86 runtime dependency, install the x86 package it specifies. Do not assume that installing the newest x64 runtime will satisfy an older 32-bit program.
Multiple Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables can coexist. Install one only when the application installer or reliable dependency evidence identifies it as required.

Fix 5: Investigate a missing dependency
If cdrtxt110.dll exists but Windows reports that a module could not be found, another library may be missing.
Start with the application’s Repair option. That is safer than trying to identify and replace dependencies individually.
If the installer specifically requests a Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, obtain it from Microsoft’s official documentation and match the package architecture to the application. Installing a runtime without evidence that it is required is not a reliable fix for this file.
If repair succeeds but the application still reports a dependency problem:

- Remove any manually copied DLLs from the application directory.
- Reinstall the complete application.
- Check whether the error changes to a different dependency name.
- Contact the software vendor if the installer cannot restore its own files.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components only as a secondary step
cdrtxt110.dll is a third-party application file, so System File Checker is not expected to restore it. Use Windows repair commands when Windows itself is also unstable, updates fail, or multiple built-in applications show corruption.
Open an elevated Command Prompt:
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click it.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run DISM first:
bat
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
bat
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows files. Neither command is a replacement for repairing WordPerfect or CorelDRAW.

When you do this manually, it can be difficult to tell whether a recurring Windows component problem has actually changed or which repair is responsible. Outbyte PC Repair provides a free scan that shows what it identifies, while repair is handled by the full version. It is optional, and reinstalling the Corel application remains the definitive fix when that application owns the missing file.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFix 7: Update or reinstall related drivers only when evidence points there
A display, printer, or input driver is not the usual cause of a missing cdrtxt110.dll. Consider drivers only if the Corel program starts after repair but crashes when rendering, printing, importing text, or using a particular device.
Update a driver through Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category, such as Display adapters or Printers.
- Right-click the device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if an update is installed.
For a clean reinstall:
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click the affected device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Restart Windows.
- Allow Windows to reinstall the driver, or install the driver from the hardware manufacturer.
Do not uninstall a device merely because cdrtxt110.dll is missing. Drivers do not replace application DLLs.
Finding the correct driver manually can mean identifying the hardware model, architecture, and appropriate release among many packages. Outbyte Driver Updater offers a free scan showing which drivers it identifies, while installation is handled by the full version. It is optional, and it will not replace the need to reinstall the Corel product that owns cdrtxt110.dll.
Do not use regsvr32 as a generic DLL repair
The .dll extension does not mean a file should be registered.
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A text-management library may not be a self-registering component. Running a command such as this without instructions from the application vendor is usually unhelpful:
regsvr32 cdrtxt110.dll
If Windows reports that an entry point is missing, that indicates the DLL is not designed for that registration operation. Repair the owning application instead.
Do not copy the file into both System32 and SysWOW64. Global DLL placement can cause version conflicts and can create DLL-loading or hijacking risks. Application DLLs should normally remain beside the executable that uses them.
Why random DLL downloads are a poor fix
Standalone DLL websites may offer a file with the right name, but that does not establish that it matches your Corel release. The file may have:
- The wrong version
- The wrong architecture
- Missing dependencies
- A damaged or modified origin
- Exports that do not match the application
- No relationship to the installed Corel product
Even a clean replacement may only move the error to another missing file. It can also conceal an antivirus event or a damaged installation.
Use the original Corel installer, legitimate account download, or original media. Repair or reinstall the complete matching product rather than building an application from individually downloaded DLLs.
If the repair works but the program still will not run
An obsolete Corel or WordPerfect application can have compatibility problems on current Windows versions even after all files are restored.

Try these checks:
- Right-click the application shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Use Run compatibility troubleshooter.
- Apply a setting only if Windows recommends one.
- Test the application again.
Also try launching the program as an administrator only for troubleshooting. If elevation changes the result, review folder permissions and security software rather than permanently running every old application with elevated rights.
If the error occurs for only one Windows user:
- Create a temporary local Windows account.
- Sign in to that account.
- Launch the repaired Corel application.
- Compare the result.
A successful launch under another profile points toward user-specific settings or permissions rather than a missing application file.
FAQ
Is cdrtxt110.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with Corel application software and should normally be located in the owning program’s directory.
Does it belong to CorelDRAW or WordPerfect Office?
The exact 110 filename has strong evidence linking it to WordPerfect Office 11, while software metadata also attributes it to CorelDRAW and Corel Corporation. Identify the program named in your error before choosing what to repair.
Should I download cdrtxt110.dll?
No. Use the official installer or repair option for the affected Corel product. A random replacement may be unsafe or incompatible.
Should I copy it to System32?
No. An application DLL normally belongs in the application directory. Copying it to a Windows system folder is not the standard repair.
Will SFC restore cdrtxt110.dll?
No. SFC repairs protected Windows files, not ordinary third-party application files. Use SFC only when Windows has separate signs of corruption.
What if the DLL is present but the error remains?
Repair the complete application, check for mixed Corel versions, and investigate dependencies. “Specified module could not be found” can refer to a dependency rather than the named DLL.
What if I no longer have the original installer?
Look for the legitimate Corel account download or original media, then contact Corel support if activation or installation access is unavailable. Avoid substituting a DLL from another release.
