Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteamainip.dll is a proprietary DVDLogic application file, not a Windows system component. If amainip.dll is missing or was not found, repair or reinstall the DVDLogic program that originally installed it rather than downloading a replacement DLL.
What amainip.dll is
| Item | Identification |
|---|---|
| File | amainip.dll |
| Internal description | DVDLogic |
| Publisher | DVDLogic |
| Category | Third-party application file |
| Windows component | No evidence supports this |
| Microsoft runtime | Not identified as Visual C++ or DirectX |
| Normal location | Usually the owning DVDLogic application folder |
DVDLogic develops Windows software for DVD, Blu-ray and UHD authoring, demuxing and reauthoring. Its products include DVD Reauthor Pro, BD Reauthor Pro, BD Wizard, EasyBD and KITe.
Public file-information records associate amainip.dll with DVDLogic, but DVDLogic does not publicly document which exact product and build installs this filename. Do not assume that every DVDLogic program contains the same copy.
Some third-party records report a 32-bit file and list version 6.0.0.0 and a size of 877,056 bytes. Those details are not confirmed by DVDLogic, so they should not be used as proof that a replacement file is genuine.

What the error means
You may see one of these reported messages:
- “This application failed to start because amainip.dll was not found.”
- “The file amainip.dll is missing or corrupted.”
- “A required component is missing: amainip.dll.”
- “Error loading amainip.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “amainip.dll access violation.”
- “This application failed to start because amainip.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
These messages usually indicate that the DVDLogic program cannot access a required library. The file may be absent, damaged, blocked, incompatible, or located correctly while another dependency is missing.
In particular, “the specified module could not be found” does not always mean that amainip.dll itself is missing. Windows may be reporting that a DLL required by amainip.dll or by the DVDLogic executable is unavailable.
“Not designed to run on Windows” can indicate corruption, an incompatible architecture, an incompatible build, or a malicious replacement. Capture the full dialog before trying fixes.
Fix 1: Identify the DVDLogic program
Start by finding which application is producing the error.
- Note the executable named in the error window, if one is shown.
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps and then Installed apps.
- Search for DVDLogic, DVD Reauthor Pro, BD Reauthor Pro, BD Wizard, EasyBD or KITe.
- Also check Control Panel if the program is older:
- Press
Windowsand search for Control Panel. - Open Programs and Features.
- Look for a DVDLogic entry.
- Right-click the application shortcut and select Open file location, if available.
- Check the shortcut’s Properties and inspect the Target field.
If the error appears during Windows startup and you no longer use DVDLogic, look for the associated executable before deleting anything. An obsolete startup entry may be calling a removed installation.
Do not infer the exact host product from the filename alone. If several DVDLogic products are installed, repair the one whose executable appears in the error.
Fix 2: Repair or reinstall DVDLogic
This is the most likely solution because amainip.dll belongs to application software rather than Windows.
Try repair first
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps and Installed apps.
- Find the affected DVDLogic product.
- Select its three-dot menu.
- Choose Advanced options, if available.
- Select Repair.
- Start the application again.
Some older installers instead provide repair through Control Panel:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs and Features.
- Select the DVDLogic application.
- Choose Change or Repair.
- Complete the installer.
A successful repair should restore the missing file to the application’s own directory and allow the program to start without the original error.
Reinstall when repair is unavailable
- Save any DVDLogic project files and custom settings.
- Uninstall the affected program from Installed apps or Programs and Features.
- Restart Windows.
- Obtain the installer from the official DVDLogic software site or from the original licensed installation media.
- Run the installer.
- If Windows asks for permission, select Yes.
- Start the program and test the operation that previously failed.
Use the product page that matches the application. DVD Reauthor Pro and BD Reauthor Pro have separate published requirements, and older DVDLogic programs may depend on legacy Windows components.
If the application was installed through a launcher, use that launcher’s Verify, Repair or Verify integrity of files command instead of copying a DLL manually.
If reinstalling does not help
Record:
- The exact DVDLogic product name
- The installed product version
- The complete error text
- The executable named by the error
- Whether the error appears at startup or only when opening a project
- Whether antivirus software removed or quarantined a file
The exact product and build matter because the public information available for amainip.dll does not identify one confirmed host application.

Fix 3: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software may have removed or quarantined a legitimate application file. It may also have detected a counterfeit DLL supplied by an unsafe source.

- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review detections around the time the error began.
- Open any relevant detection.
- Check the original file path, detection name and publisher or signature details.
Restore or allow the file only when all of these are true:
- The file came from a trusted DVDLogic installer.
- Its path is inside the expected DVDLogic application directory.
- The installer and application source are genuine.
- The detection is understood and you accept the security risk.
Microsoft warns that allowing a real threat can put the device and data at risk. If amainip.dll came from a random DLL website, do not restore it. Remove the downloaded file, uninstall any software associated with it and run a Microsoft Defender scan.
After restoring a trusted file, reinstall or repair DVDLogic if the application still fails. Quarantine restoration alone may not repair related dependencies or installer registration.
Fix 4: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
A 32-bit application normally uses its own 32-bit libraries, even when Windows is 64-bit. The third-party classification of amainip.dll as 32-bit is not vendor-confirmed, but mixing architectures is a common reason for loading failures.
Do not copy the file into both C:WindowsSystem32 and C:WindowsSysWOW64. Those directories are not general-purpose storage locations for application DLLs. On 64-bit Windows, System32 is commonly used for 64-bit system components, while SysWOW64 contains 32-bit system components. The directory names are easy to misunderstand.
Use the installer that matches the DVDLogic application:
- Uninstall the damaged application.
- Restart Windows.
- Download or retrieve the correct DVDLogic installer.
- Install it normally.
- Do not replace individual DLLs with files from another computer.
- Test the application again.
If a dependency-analysis tool identifies an x86 dependency, install the x86 version of the relevant runtime. If it identifies an x64 dependency, use the x64 package. Do not guess based only on the operating system’s architecture.

Fix 5: Check required Microsoft runtimes
amainip.dll is not identified as a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime or DirectX file. However, a DVDLogic executable or its private DLLs may require a Microsoft runtime.
The full error dialog may name another DLL. If it does, treat that second filename as the immediate dependency to investigate.
For Visual C++:
- Check the DVDLogic product documentation or installer requirements.
- If Visual C++ is explicitly required, use Microsoft’s supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads.
- Install the architecture that matches the application.
- Restart Windows.
- Test DVDLogic again.
Microsoft provides packages including VC_redist.x86.exe, VC_redist.x64.exe and VC_redist.arm64.exe. Installing the latest package without evidence that Visual C++ is involved may not fix amainip.dll. Do not remove older side-by-side runtimes merely because a newer one is installed.
Some older DVDLogic product pages list .NET Framework 2.0 or later, while BD Reauthor Pro lists .NET Framework 4.0 or later. These requirements vary by product and do not prove that .NET is the direct cause of an amainip.dll error.
To check Windows Features:
- Press
Windows. - Search for Turn Windows features on or off.
- Open it.
- Look for the .NET Framework entries.
- Enable only the framework required by the DVDLogic product.
- Select OK and allow Windows to add the component.
- Restart if prompted.
Do not enable obsolete components solely because the filename ends in .dll. Use the product’s documented requirements or the complete error message.
Fix 6: Repair broader Windows component corruption
DISM and SFC do not normally recreate a third-party DVDLogic DLL. Use them when other Windows components are also failing, Windows features will not open, or multiple unrelated applications report corruption.

- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the command to complete.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the DVDLogic application.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. If SFC reports that it found and repaired corrupted files, test again after restarting. If both commands complete without fixing the DVDLogic error, return to repairing the owning application rather than repeating them indefinitely.
When manually hunting through Windows components and repeating SFC or DISM does not reveal what changed, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for reported problems; its free scan shows what it identifies, while repair requires the full version. Reinstalling the DVDLogic application remains the definitive fix when its private DLL is missing.
Fix 7: Revert a recent change
If the problem began immediately after an update, cleanup operation, application removal or system change, undo that change where possible.
First try uninstalling the recent application or update:
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Open Update history.
- Select Uninstall updates, if the relevant update is listed.
- Restart Windows and test DVDLogic.
For System Restore:
- Press
Windows. - Search for Create a restore point.
- Open it.
- Select System Restore.
- Choose a restore point from before the error began.
- Review the affected programs.
- Complete the restore and restart.
System Restore returns Windows system state to an earlier restore point. It is not a substitute for reinstalling DVDLogic and may not restore a missing application file.
Fix 8: Update or reinstall related drivers
Drivers are not the normal owner of amainip.dll, but an authoring application can also fail while accessing optical drives, storage devices or graphics components. Only investigate drivers when the error occurs during disc access, video processing or another hardware-related operation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse Device Manager
- Right-click the Start button.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category, such as:
- DVD/CD-ROM drives
- Storage controllers
- Display adapters
- Right-click the affected device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows.
- Test DVDLogic.
If the problem began after a driver update:
- Open the device’s Properties.
- Select the Driver tab.
- Choose Roll Back Driver, if available.
- Restart Windows.
If Device Manager shows a warning icon, uninstalling the device and selecting Scan for hardware changes may rebuild its Windows entry. Do not remove chipset or storage drivers casually. Obtain replacement drivers from the hardware manufacturer when Windows cannot provide a compatible one.
When Device Manager leaves you hunting through hardware vendors and guessing which of many drivers is stale, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and identify reported driver issues; its free scan shows the findings, while driver installation requires the full version. A driver update will not replace a missing DVDLogic application DLL.

Do not download amainip.dll from a random DLL site
A replacement downloaded from an unknown source may contain malware, belong to a different build or use the wrong architecture. It may also lack dependencies, fail signature checks or leave the damaged DVDLogic installation unchanged.
The safe sources are:
- The official DVDLogic product installer
- Original licensed installation media
- A trusted launcher that verifies the application
- A backup made from the same verified installation
No public vendor hash or malware verdict for amainip.dll is available, so a filename alone cannot establish authenticity.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Do not copy it into System32 or SysWOW64
A private application DLL should normally remain with the application that owns it. System-directory copying can create version conflicts, architecture errors and security exposure. It can also make future repairs harder by leaving Windows with an unrelated copy.
Do not run regsvr32 routinely
Do not use:
regsvr32 amainip.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A normal private application library may not export that function. The command may produce “DllRegisterServer was not found” and will not repair a missing dependency.
Use registration only when the DVDLogic installer or vendor documentation specifically instructs you to do so. For an ordinary missing-file error, repair or reinstall the application instead.
If the error continues
Use a reputable dependency-analysis tool to inspect the DVDLogic executable and amainip.dll. Look for a second missing DLL rather than assuming the first filename is the whole problem.

FAQ
Is amainip.dll a Windows file?
No evidence supports that conclusion. It is associated with DVDLogic software and is not identified as a Windows System32 or SysWOW64 component.
Which DVDLogic program installs it?
The exact host product and build are not publicly confirmed. Identify the executable named in the error and repair that DVDLogic application.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Is amainip.dll a Visual C++ or DirectX file?
No. It is identified as a DVDLogic application DLL. A separate Visual C++ or DirectX dependency may still be missing, but that must be established from the complete error or dependency inspection.
Where should amainip.dll be located?
Usually in the installation directory of the DVDLogic program that uses it. The exact standard path has not been publicly confirmed.
Should I register amainip.dll?
Normally no. regsvr32 is for self-registering DLLs, and a private application library may not support registration.
Why did copying the DLL not fix the error?
The copied file may be the wrong build or architecture, or Windows may actually be missing a dependency of amainip.dll. Copying a DLL also does not repair the owning application, its installer records or antivirus removal.
Will DISM or SFC restore it?
Normally no. They repair Windows components, not proprietary DVDLogic application files. Use them when broader Windows corruption is present, then repair or reinstall DVDLogic.
What is the safest fix?
Identify the affected DVDLogic product, check whether antivirus quarantined its file, then repair or reinstall the program from DVDLogic or its original trusted installer.
