ep0lvr1o.dll is an Epson printer-driver component, not a normal Windows system file. If Windows says it is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, repair the Epson printer package rather than downloading a loose DLL.
The most reliable solution is to identify the Epson printer, remove its damaged or outdated software, and install the current driver package for that exact model from Epson’s official support site.
What ep0lvr1o.dll is
Public file metadata identifies ep0lvr1o.dll as part of EPSON Printer Driver, associated with SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION. The exact printer model cannot be identified from this filename alone.
| File detail | What is known |
|---|---|
| Filename | ep0lvr1o.dll |
| Category | Hardware driver component |
| Associated software | Epson printer-driver software |
| Windows component | Not known to be part of Windows |
| Exact Epson model | Not established from the filename |
| Reported version and architecture | Public records are inconsistent and should not be treated as vendor-confirmed |
The file may be stored inside an Epson driver package or Windows driver store instead of an ordinary application folder. A folder containing amd64 does not prove that every DLL inside it is 64-bit, so do not choose a replacement based only on a path name.

This is not normally a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime, DirectX file, or .NET component. Installing those packages will not usually repair an Epson driver error.
Error messages you may see
The wording varies by Windows version and by the program that tries to load the driver. Common examples include:
- “The program can’t start because ep0lvr1o.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because ep0lvr1o.dll was not found.”
- “There was a problem starting ep0lvr1o.dll.”
- “Error loading ep0lvr1o.dll.”
- “ep0lvr1o.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
- “Failed to load EP0LVR1O.DLL.”
These messages do not identify a particular Epson printer. They can indicate a missing file, a damaged driver package, an incompatible legacy driver, or a dependent file that Windows cannot load.
Fix 1: Reinstall the correct Epson printer software
This is the primary fix when printing stopped working or the error appeared after removing, updating, or reconnecting an Epson printer.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIdentify the printer model
- Check the label on the printer.
- Open Settings with Windows + I.
- Select Bluetooth & devices on Windows 11, or Devices on Windows 10.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Note the exact Epson model shown.
- Also note whether the printer connects by USB, Wi-Fi, or a print server.
Do not select a driver merely because its name contains “Epson.” Different Epson models may require different packages.
Remove the old Epson installation
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps on Windows 11. On Windows 10, select Apps & features.
- Search for Epson software.
- Remove the Epson printer software, maintenance utility, scanner package, or combined driver package associated with the affected printer.
- Return to Printers & scanners.
- Select the old Epson printer and choose Remove.
- If Windows asks whether to remove the device, confirm it.
- Disconnect the USB cable, if present. For a network printer, leave the printer disconnected from the installation process for now.
- Restart Windows.
Epson warns that removing shared driver components can affect more than one Epson product. If several Epson printers are installed, record their models before removing shared software.
Download and install the replacement
- Open Epson’s official support site.
- Search for the exact printer model.
- Select the Windows version shown for your installation.
- Download the package Epson lists for that model, such as a Printer Driver or Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer.
- Run the downloaded installer.
- Accept the license terms and follow the setup prompts.
- Reconnect the USB cable or configure the network connection only when the installer requests it.
- Restart Windows after setup completes.
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Select the Epson printer and print a test page.
A successful repair usually removes the startup error and lets the Windows test page print. If the installer cannot detect the printer, disconnect it again, restart the installer, and reconnect only at the requested step. For a network printer, confirm that the computer and printer are on the same network.

If the current Epson installer does not support the printer, check whether Epson provides a legacy package for the exact model and Windows version. Do not substitute a DLL from another package.

One-click scans. No signup required.
Manually hunting through Device Manager and comparing dozens of driver versions can be slow, especially after a fresh Windows installation. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers, with the free scan showing what it finds and the full version handling driver installation; it is optional, and the exact Epson package from the manufacturer remains the definitive repair for this file.
Fix 2: Check whether Windows Security quarantined the file
Antivirus software may quarantine a damaged or suspicious driver file. Do not restore it automatically.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Look for an entry mentioning
ep0lvr1o.dllor Epson software. - Expand the entry and inspect the detected file path.
- If the path belongs to the Epson installation or driver package, check the file’s properties and digital signature before taking action.
- If the file came from an unknown download, leave it quarantined and remove it.
- Reinstall the Epson package from the manufacturer instead of restoring a loose copy.
If Windows Security identifies the file as malware, do not create an exclusion simply to make the error disappear. Microsoft warns that allowing a malicious file can put the device at risk.
After reinstalling, check Protection history again. If the newly installed official package is immediately quarantined, record the detection name and contact Epson or Microsoft support rather than repeatedly restoring the file.
Fix 3: Repair the printer through Device Manager
Use Device Manager when the Epson printer is listed but Windows reports a driver problem, or when the error began after a Windows update.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, and, if present, Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Look for the Epson printer, an unknown device, or an entry with a yellow warning icon.
- Right-click the affected entry and select Properties.
- Read the message under Device status.
- Select the Driver tab and choose Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if an update is installed.
If updating does not help:
- Return to the device in Device Manager.
- Right-click it and select Uninstall device.
- Enable Attempt to remove the driver for this device if Windows displays that choice.
- Confirm the removal.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the Epson model-specific package again.
Do not remove every printer or every Epson entry without recording what is installed. Shared components may support multiple printers.
If the problem started immediately after a driver update, open the device’s Properties → Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver when available. If the button is unavailable, use System Restore or reinstall the Epson package.

Fix 4: Check Windows Features only for printing infrastructure problems
Windows Features does not normally provide ep0lvr1o.dll, but a damaged or disabled printing component can create a separate printer failure.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
optionalfeatures. - Press Enter.
- Review Print and Document Services.
- Leave the existing selections unchanged unless your printer setup specifically requires a feature.
- If Internet Printing Client or LPD Print Service is required by your network printer, enable only the feature requested by the printer documentation.
- Select OK and restart Windows.
Do not enable unrelated legacy features to fix a missing Epson DLL. Windows Features cannot recreate an Epson driver file that was removed from its package.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
Use these commands when several Windows functions are failing, not just one Epson printer. Microsoft recommends running DISM before System File Checker.
- Open the Start menu.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the printer again.
DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows files. They cannot reliably reconstruct an Epson driver package that was never part of Windows.
Repeating SFC and DISM without knowing what changed makes troubleshooting difficult. Outbyte PC Repair can show what its free scan detects, while repair actions are handled by the full version; it is optional, and reinstalling the Epson software remains the definitive fix for this printer-specific DLL.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, restart and run the commands again once. If only the Epson error remains, return to the Epson uninstall and reinstall procedure instead of treating this as a Windows runtime problem.
Fix 6: Use System Restore after a recent change
System Restore is appropriate when the error began directly after a driver installation, Windows update, or printer utility change.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point dated before the error began.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Review the drivers and applications that will be removed or rolled back.
- Select Next, then Finish.
- Allow Windows to restart.
System Restore normally rolls back system settings, drivers, and installed programs without changing personal files. It does not replace the need for a current Epson driver, so install the correct package afterward if the printer still fails.

Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
A 64-bit Windows installation can run 32-bit Epson software. Windows architecture and application architecture are separate, and a path containing amd64 is not enough to determine the architecture of this particular DLL.

To check Windows architecture:
- Open Settings.
- Select System → About.
- Read System type.
- Record the result before contacting Epson or selecting a driver package.
What not to do
Do not copy the DLL into System32
ep0lvr1o.dll is not known to be an inbox Windows component. Copying it into C:WindowsSystem32 can place the wrong file where unrelated programs may find it, while leaving the Epson driver registration and dependent files broken.
Do not use DLL download sites
A standalone download may contain malware, the wrong version, the wrong architecture, or an unsigned file. It may also hide the actual problem, such as a damaged driver store or missing dependent DLL. Restore the file through the signed Epson installation package.
Do not run regsvr32 as a generic repair
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration functions such as DllRegisterServer. A printer-driver component is not automatically a self-registering COM library, and registering it will usually do nothing useful.

Do not edit DriverStore manually
Windows protects its driver store because it contains staged driver packages. Remove Epson software through its uninstaller, Windows printer settings, or supported driver-management tools. Directly deleting files can break other devices and make reinstalling harder.
If the error remains
Record the following before contacting Epson:
- Exact Epson printer model
- Windows version and system type
- Full error wording
- Application or process named in the error
- File path shown in the message or file properties
- Whether the error appears at startup or only during printing
- Windows Security detection details
- Device Manager status
- Recent driver, printer, or Windows changes
If the message appears only while printing, clear stalled jobs, remove duplicate Epson printers, and reinstall the driver. If it appears at startup with no Epson printer connected, remove obsolete Epson utilities and startup entries.
The filename alone is not enough to select a replacement file. The correct repair is a complete, compatible Epson driver installation for the actual printer model.
FAQ
Is ep0lvr1o.dll legitimate?
The filename corresponds to an Epson printer-driver component in public metadata. However, a filename alone does not prove that a particular copy is genuine. Verify its location, signature, and Epson origin.
Is ep0lvr1o.dll part of Windows?
There is no reliable evidence that it ships as an inbox Windows DLL. Treat it as part of the Epson printer software that installed it.
Which Epson printer uses this DLL?
The exact model is not publicly established from the filename. Identify the printer and install its model-specific Epson package.
Recommended Free Tools
Will Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET fix it?
Not normally. This file is identified as an Epson driver component, not a Microsoft runtime file. Install those runtimes only when the error names a DLL belonging to them.
Can I fix it with System File Checker?
SFC can repair protected Windows files, but it cannot reliably restore an Epson driver package. Reinstall Epson software first when the problem is limited to printing.
Why does the file exist but Windows still say it is missing?
The file may have a missing dependency, incompatible architecture, damaged contents, incorrect driver registration, or an invalid package path. Reinstalling the complete Epson driver addresses those related files together.
