The fix depends on which part of Roblox is white. A blank Roblox website usually points to browser data, extensions, VPNs, or security software. A white Windows app may need repair, a clean reinstall, or the current Roblox – Windows Microsoft Store app. A blank game window can indicate graphics compatibility. On phones, force-stopping, clearing app data, or reinstalling usually comes first.
Before changing anything, check Roblox Status. If Website, Player, Games, and Game Join are operational, the problem is more likely local to your browser, device, installation, graphics driver, or network.
First identify where the white screen appears

There is no single universal “white screen cache” that fixes every case. Roblox’s troubleshooting guidance associates similar failures with browser add-ons, corrupted temporary or Roblox files, security software, network restrictions, outdated systems, and graphics compatibility.
Windows fixes
1. Install the correct Microsoft Store app
Roblox now distinguishes between two Microsoft Store apps:

Install the current version before trying older fixes:
- Open Microsoft Store.
- Search for Roblox – Windows.
- Install the app with the blue icon.
- Sign in and test an experience.
- If it works, uninstall the old light-gray-icon app so Windows does not keep launching the wrong version.
Your Roblox account, friends, Robux, inventory, and progress are not tied to the old app installation, although you may need to sign in again. Roblox says the old app will eventually stop working. See the official Microsoft Store app instructions.
2. Repair or reset Roblox – Windows
Use this when the white screen is limited to the Microsoft Store app.
Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Roblox – Windows.
- Select the three-dot More button beside it.
- Select Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
- Open Roblox and test it. If the problem remains, return to the same screen and select Reset.
Windows 10
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
- Select Roblox – Windows, then Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
- If Repair fails, select Reset.
Microsoft notes that Repair and Reset are not available for every app. Reset removes the app’s stored data and settings, so you may need to sign in again. More details are in Microsoft’s app repair instructions.

3. Completely clear local Roblox data and reinstall
Use this if repairing or resetting did not help. Roblox’s current Windows troubleshooting procedure is:

- Uninstall Roblox.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
CMDand press Enter. - Run:
cd AppDataLocalThen run:
rmdir /s RobloxWhen prompted, type y. Restart the computer, then reinstall Roblox.
Run this only after uninstalling Roblox. The command permanently removes the matching Roblox folder and its contents. Roblox’s instructions assume Command Prompt starts in your Windows user profile directory; if it starts somewhere else, the relative cd AppDataLocal command may fail. Do not add undocumented switches or run the removal command against a different directory. The procedure is documented in Roblox’s Windows access and installation troubleshooting.
4. Clear browser data when the website or Play button is white
Clear temporary files and cookies in every browser you use to launch Roblox, then restart the computer and try again. Roblox supports Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge on Windows; Internet Explorer is not supported.
If clearing data does not help:
- Disable browser extensions and add-ons.
- Try Roblox again.
- Re-enable extensions one at a time to find the incompatible extension.
Ad blockers, privacy tools, script blockers, and other browser add-ons can interfere with Roblox pages or the handoff from the website to the player. Roblox’s general website troubleshooting covers this sequence.
5. Test VPN, antivirus, and firewall interference
Temporarily disconnect a VPN and test Roblox. Roblox also identifies antivirus and firewall software as possible causes of blocked communication. If disabling security software makes Roblox work, turn protection back on and add Roblox to its allow list instead of leaving it disabled.

Roblox does not use one fixed outgoing client port. Its client selects ports dynamically, and a router or firewall that blocks UDP traffic on any port can prevent joining experiences. On a school, work, or managed network, the administrator may need to allow Roblox traffic. See Roblox’s firewall and router guidance.
6. Check graphics support if only the game window is white
If Roblox opens but the experience remains blank, especially when audio plays, treat it as a rendering problem rather than a website problem. Roblox lists graphics initialization failures, distorted textures, warped images, unreadable text, and outdated or unsupported graphics hardware among related symptoms.
Windows Roblox requires DirectX feature level 10 or higher:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
dxdiagand press Enter. - Open Display, Display 1, or Display 2.
- Check Feature Levels.
If no feature level 10 or higher is listed, the computer does not meet Roblox’s graphics requirement. Update the graphics driver from the GPU manufacturer. Also check compatibility mode:
- Right-click the Roblox or Roblox Studio application.
- Select Properties > Compatibility.
- Clear Run this program in compatibility mode for if it is selected.

7. Confirm Windows is supported
Current Roblox computer requirements list 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. Roblox also recommends at least 1 GB of RAM and 300 MB of available storage. Linux is not supported. Advice written for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 is outdated even though some older Roblox support pages still contain legacy instructions. Check the current hardware and operating-system requirements.

- Restart the Mac.
- Uninstall and reinstall Roblox.
- If the white screen remains, press Command + Space Bar.
- Enter
~/Library/Logs/Roblox/and open the folder. - Delete the contents of that folder.
- Reproduce the problem.
Roblox also recommends trying Chrome or Firefox if Safari is causing the problem, confirming that Roblox appears in the Applications folder, and launching Roblox from the Dock instead of the website.
To reset Roblox preferences, open Library > Preferences and delete the Roblox com files. Be careful to remove Roblox preference files rather than unrelated application data.
Roblox supports macOS 10.13 High Sierra and later and supports Apple Silicon/M1 Macs. To reinstall using Roblox’s documented flow:
- Open Safari and sign in to Roblox.
- Open an experience and select Play.
- Follow the installation prompts.
- If the installer does not start, open Finder > Today.
- Open
Roblox.dmgand place the Roblox application in Applications.

Android fixes
- Open the device’s application manager or task manager. The label varies by manufacturer.
- Select Roblox.
- Tap Force Stop.
- Open Roblox again.
If the screen is still white:
- Return to Roblox in the application manager.
- Tap Clear Data.
- Confirm with OK.
- Open Roblox and sign in again.
Clearing data removes local app data and normally requires another sign-in. If needed, uninstall Roblox and reinstall the official app from Google Play. Menu labels vary on newer Android versions; the supported action is to remove Roblox and install it again from Google Play. Roblox also recommends using the latest available Android version. Follow the Android troubleshooting guidance.
iPhone and iPad fixes
- Force-close Roblox from the app switcher.
- Restart the device.
- Update Roblox and iOS or iPadOS.
- Reinstall Roblox from the App Store.
- Clear Roblox cookies using Apple’s instructions.
- Confirm that the device date and time are accurate.
On older devices with a Home button, open the app switcher by pressing the Home button twice. On newer iPhones and iPads, swipe up from the bottom and pause, then swipe Roblox away. Roblox’s iOS troubleshooting page contains the supported steps.
Chromebook fixes
Roblox on Chromebook uses the Android app. Roblox requires an up-to-date Chrome OS, Google Play Store enabled, and Chrome OS version 53 or later. Roblox states that its app does not work with Bluetooth mice or other Bluetooth pointing devices.
First restart the Chromebook and check its date and time. To reinstall Roblox:
- Select the Launcher.
- Select All Apps.
- Find Roblox.
- Right-click the app icon.
- Select Remove from Chrome, then Remove.
- Reinstall Roblox through Google Play.

What not to assume
- “Roblox is always down.” Check the official status page first; a white screen can be local.
- “Deleting one cache folder fixes everything.” Browser data and Windows Roblox data are different troubleshooting targets.
- “Compatibility mode should be enabled.” Roblox recommends clearing compatibility mode when it is selected in the relevant graphics troubleshooting case.
- “Windows 7 and 8.1 are still supported.” Current requirements list 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- “The Microsoft Store app named Roblox is current.” The current app is named Roblox – Windows and has a blue icon.
