The festival contains three minigames—Flea Juggle, Flea Dodge, and Flea Bounce. Beat the listed non-Seth high scores in all three to earn the Pale Oil reward; Seth’s separate scores are only required for the Guardian’s Memento.
How to unlock the Festival of the Flea
- Rescue all 30 Fleas. The Flea Caravan relocates after rescuing 5, 12, and 22 Fleas. Its milestone rewards are Flea Brew, a Spool Fragment, and a Tool Pouch.
- Receive the Egg of Flealia. After all 30 Fleas have been rescued, Hornet can obtain the Egg of Flealia.
- Reach Act 3 and accept the Ecstasy of the End wish. Fleatopia then becomes available, hosted by Fleamaster Mooshka.
Once unlocked, Fleatopia remains available for the rest of the playthrough. It does not disappear after one attempt or after completing the wish. See the Flea reference page for the rescue milestones and the Festival minigame reference for the listed scores and rewards.
Festival rules and rewards
Fleatopia has exactly three minigames:
- Flea Juggle, started by talking to Fleamaster Mooshka.
- Flea Dodge, started by talking to Vog.
- Flea Bounce, started by talking to Kratt.
Tools and Silk Skills have no effect inside the minigames. Crests do work, so choose your Crest setup rather than relying on normal Tool or Silk Skill abilities.
Pale Oil reward
Beat the existing high score in all three games to trigger the piñata sequence and complete Ecstasy of the End. The piñata drops currency on each of the first nine strikes: 15–41 Rosaries and 5–8 Shell Shards per strike. The tenth strike drops Pale Oil.

Guardian’s Memento reward
After Seth moves to Fleatopia, you can challenge his separate scores. Beating Seth in all three games awards the Guardian’s Memento. Seth’s targets are not needed for the Pale Oil sequence.
Flea Juggle guide
Talk to Fleamaster Mooshka on the stage to begin. Falling Fleas must be struck upward and kept airborne. A successful juggle awards one point when the Flea leaves the play area, usually after three or four hits.
Rank #2
- Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the award winning action-adventure.
- Journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover secrets tied to your nature and your past.
The game ends when three Fleas hit the ground, represented by the three “X” signs in the background. It also ends if Hornet walks off the stage or jumps too far sideways.

Flea Juggle scores
| Opponent | Score to beat |
|---|---|
| Kratt | 4 |
| Varga | 15 |
| Mooshka | 22 |
| Vog | 27 |
| Grishkin | 30 |
| Seth | 55 |
Reliable Flea Juggle strategy
- Stay on the ground and use ordinary side-slashes to keep Fleas moving together.
- Do not depend on upward slashes to control direction: an upward slash can send a Flea either left or right.
- Watch the stage edges so Hornet does not leave the play area while repositioning.
- Use the Shaman Crest if available. It increases effective hit range and adds a lingering energy wave, making crowded juggles more forgiving.
Flea Juggle wave types
The game can introduce normal Fleas, Huge Fleas, Brew-soaked Fleas, Grishkin, and Varga. Brew-soaked Fleas move particularly quickly. Grishkin and Varga require four hits rather than the usual three before leaving the play area.
The number of Fleas active at once increases as your score rises: two appear after one successful Flea, three after eight, and four after 25. The jump to four simultaneous Fleas is the main difficulty spike before Seth’s 55-point target.

Flea Dodge guide
Talk to Vog to start. Hornet begins on one of the platforms above her. The score is one point per second that Hornet remains on a platform or airborne. It is not the number of Fleas avoided and not the number of Fleas that leave the screen.
The attempt ends when Hornet touches the ground below or jumps too far to either side. Being hit does not automatically end the game: if Hornet can recover and return to a platform, the attempt continues.

How to survive Flea Dodge
- Move as little as possible. Many Fleas do not approach if Hornet barely moves, and they are harmless unless their path intersects her.
- Prioritize platform control. Returning to a platform matters more than attacking or clearing Fleas.
- Use Clawline for recovery. It can bring Hornet back to a platform without sacrificing as much height.
- Save Needle Bounce and Faydown Cloak. Treat them as recovery tools rather than routine movement options.
- React late to Huge Fleas. Jump at the last possible moment, then use Faydown Cloak and Drifter’s Cloak while tracking where the platforms will return.
Flea Dodge attack patterns
Early waves use horizontal attacks from the sides. Later waves add vertical and diagonal dives. Brew-soaked Fleas travel faster. Vog occasionally jumps and throws her weapon; a pause in incoming Fleas can telegraph that attack.
Huge Fleas change height and destroy platforms they pass through. During these waves, avoid committing to an early jump. Wait until the last safe moment, preserve your recovery options, and follow the platforms’ return positions rather than simply holding toward the nearest one.
Reveal Fleas hidden by the HUD
The HUD can hide Fleas entering from behind it, particularly diagonal divers. Turn it off through:

Talk to Kratt to begin. Hornet starts on the platform above the water while Fleas cross the screen from both sides. Their speed increases over the course of the game.
You score one point by hitting a Flea with a Needle Bounce or Clawline. The game ends if Hornet lands on the platform, touches the water, or jumps too far sideways.
Quick Recap
Flea Bounce scores
| Opponent | Score to beat |
|---|---|
| Kratt | 9 |
| Varga | 19 |
| Mooshka | 31 |
| Grishkin | 38 |
| Vog | 42 |
| Seth | 68 |
Flea Bounce strategy
- Position yourself for the next crossing rather than chasing the Flea currently nearest to Hornet.
- Use Needle Bounce for direct hits and Clawline when the next Flea is offset horizontally.
- Do not land on the starting platform between attempts; landing ends the game.
- Use Faydown Cloak and Drifter’s Cloak to preserve airtime when the next Flea is too far away.
- Keep track of Hornet’s horizontal momentum so a successful hit does not carry her beyond the stage edge.
Recommended order for completing the festival
- Start with Flea Juggle. Its early targets teach the basic timing and are usually the most direct scores to clear.
- Clear Flea Bounce next. Focus on controlled Needle Bounces and use Clawline to avoid falling or landing.
- Finish with Flea Dodge. Its score is survival time, so learn the attack patterns and reserve recovery abilities for platform emergencies.
- Return for Seth’s scores later. They are substantially higher and unlock the Guardian’s Memento rather than the Pale Oil sequence.
Common mistakes and corrections

| Seth must be beaten to obtain Pale Oil. | The Pale Oil sequence requires beating the listed non-Seth scores in all three games. Seth’s scores award the Guardian’s Memento. |
| Tools and Silk Skills work normally. | Tools and Silk Skills have no effect in the minigames. Crests do work. |
| The festival disappears after one attempt or after the wish is completed. | Fleatopia remains available for the rest of the playthrough. |
