Short answer: the 13 seeds below are reported to produce villages containing a weaponsmith, toolsmith, armorer, or another village smithing building, but the available evidence does not verify all of them for the current releases. Treat them as leads, not guaranteed results. For reliable use, match the seed to the exact edition and version, preserve every minus sign, and check the listed coordinates in a fresh world.
“Blacksmith” is legacy shorthand. Modern Minecraft villages use separate weaponsmith, toolsmith, and armorer buildings; not every village generates every type, and a building does not always include the chest a player expects.

What “blacksmith” means in modern Minecraft
Since the Village & Pillage-era village overhaul, the old single blacksmith building is no longer the precise term:
- Weaponsmith: identified by a grindstone.
- Toolsmith: identified by a smithing table.
- Armorer: identified by a blast furnace.
These are separate house variants. A village may generate one, several, or none of them. Weaponsmith and toolsmith houses generally have chests, while armorer chest availability depends on the specific house variant and village type. Chest contents are also randomized and can differ by edition or release. See the village loot documentation before treating any item claim as guaranteed.

The 13 reported seeds
The following list preserves the seeds and coordinates reported by the original source, but does not upgrade unverified claims into current guarantees. The source article does not consistently identify an exact test release, provide screenshots, or offer reproducible map links for each entry. Current stable-release context is Java Edition 26.2 and Bedrock Edition 26.30, with some console platforms receiving Bedrock hotfixes such as 26.34 or 26.35. A coordinate from an older release may not remain reliable.

The seed that needs special caution: 542630838
The original list describes this Bedrock seed as a desert village at approximately X 184, Z 88. Older Bedrock reports instead describe an island village near spawn, often associated with three blacksmith buildings, a nearby or underlying stronghold, and additional structures. One such historical report is available at MCPEDL.
Those reports do not prove that the newer coordinates are impossible: structure generation can change between releases, and different reports may use different coordinate conventions. They do prove that this seed should not be advertised as a guaranteed desert-village-and-temple combination without an exact Bedrock version and visual or reproducible evidence.

How to enter a seed
Bedrock Edition
- Open Minecraft → Create New → Create New World.
- Open the Game tab.
- Enter the number in the field marked Seed. Some platforms place related settings under an Advanced area.
- Leave structures enabled and use the normal default world-generation settings.
- Create the world.
The exact layout can vary by platform and UI rollout. Microsoft’s Bedrock seed-picker documentation identifies the Game tab and Seed field.
Java Edition
- Open the Minecraft Launcher and start the intended Latest Release.
- Select Singleplayer → Create New World.
- Open the current world-generation or world-settings area.
- Enter the seed exactly, including the leading minus sign on negative seeds.
- Keep structures enabled and create the world.
Older instructions that universally say More World Options describe an earlier interface. Java’s world-creation screens have changed, including changes in Java 26.1, so use the labels shown by the version you actually run.
How to verify a reported seed properly
- Record the edition and release. For example, Java 26.2 or Bedrock 26.30.
- Create a fresh world with default terrain and structures enabled.
- Check the seed in-game with
/seed. - Travel to the reported X/Z coordinates. These lists normally omit Y, so do not treat two numbers as a complete teleport coordinate.
- Confirm the village. Identify whether it contains a weaponsmith, toolsmith, armorer, or another claimed building.
- Inspect every relevant chest. Record what is actually present rather than assuming diamonds, obsidian, or a particular tool.
- Repeat in a second fresh world using the same edition and release.
- Capture evidence. A screenshot should show the building and coordinates; a map preview alone does not prove chest contents.
For a command-assisted check, Java uses /locate structure #village, while Bedrock uses /locate structure village. Commands require cheats or the relevant permissions. On Bedrock, enabling cheats can affect achievements in that world. Microsoft’s structure-type reference documents the Bedrock village identifier.

Why a seed may not match
Java and Bedrock are not interchangeable
The same numeric seed does not guarantee the same village position across editions. Terrain and biomes can look similar while structure placement differs. A Java coordinate must not be copied into Bedrock, and a Bedrock village should not be assumed to exist at the same location in Java. “Works on both editions” requires separate testing in both editions.
See the seed-generation documentation for the edition distinction.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe version matters
Coordinates tested in an older 1.21.x or Bedrock release may not remain valid in 26.x. A useful seed entry must name the exact edition and release, not merely say “latest version.”

Negative signs are part of the seed
-4361528937055201680, for example, is entirely different from 4361528937055201680. Check every leading hyphen before creating the world.
Coordinates are usually incomplete
Minecraft coordinates are conventionally written X, Y, Z, but seed lists often provide only X and Z. The Y level depends on the terrain and must be obtained in-game or from a verified map. Also, “near spawn” does not mean X 0, Z 0: the initial spawn point can be offset, and a listed location may identify the village center rather than the exact spawn block.
Buildings and chests are not guaranteed as a package
A village can contain a profession workstation building without the chest variant expected by a guide. Snowy armorer houses are one documented example in which only some variants contain chests. Even when the chest exists, its loot is randomized and can vary with version, edition, and loot-table changes.

World settings can remove the result
Structures disabled, Flat or customized worlds, experimental generation settings, add-ons, and data packs that alter world generation can all invalidate a seed guide’s coordinates or structures.
How to judge a “best” blacksmith seed
For a survival start, prioritize evidence over an exciting description. A genuinely useful entry should state:
- the exact seed;
- Java or Bedrock edition;
- the exact tested release;
- complete X, Y, Z coordinates or clearly labeled X/Z coordinates;
- the number and type of smithing buildings;
- whether each relevant chest actually exists;
- observed loot with a randomization warning; and
- a screenshot or reproducible map link for the same edition and release.
Until those details are supplied, the 13 numbers above are best treated as reported candidates. They may produce useful villages, but the evidence does not support promising that every seed currently generates a blacksmith building, a particular chest, or specific loot.
The Bottom Line
These 13 seeds are useful starting points, not a verified current ranking. Enter each one in the stated edition, check the exact release, confirm the village and smithing building in-game, and do not assume Java, Bedrock, coordinates, or chest loot will match across versions.
