Omnithal can be caught only during an active Omnithal Hunt at the Sunken Reliquary fishing pool in Tidefall. Fish in that specific pool to build Disturbance, watch for the hunt announcement, then use Luminous Larva and a rod built around resilience, control, or progress-triggering effects. Fog, night, and winter improve its listed preferences, but they do not create the hunt.
Where Omnithal spawns
Go to Tidefall and follow its underwater route to the Sunken Reliquary. Omnithal is available only in the Reliquary’s fishing pool while the Omnithal Hunt is active. It is not part of the ordinary Reliquary fishing table, and fishing in another Tidefall water tile will not count as fishing in the correct hunt zone.

How the Omnithal Hunt starts
The normal hunt is generated by Fisch’s Disturbance system. Presence in Tidefall does not guarantee a spawn, and there is no command or menu option that summons Omnithal.

An Omnithal manifests in the Sunken Reliquary…
For Omnithal, the maximum Disturbance value is 10,000. The system rolls approximately every 15–60 seconds. If the roll exceeds the stored Disturbance, the hunt does not begin and the stored value decreases by 1. If the roll is below the stored value, the hunt starts and the Disturbance resets to 0. The mechanics are documented in the current Disturbance reference.
How much Disturbance each catch adds
In the correct hunt zone, the base contribution is 1 Disturbance per caught fish, plus applicable bonuses from your rod, enchantments, bait, and other active effects. Fishing outside the correct zone gives only one-fifth of the normal contribution.
Listed bonuses include:
- Hunter: +2
- Ferocious: +4
- Vicious: +1
- Menacing Spirit: +7
- Obsidian-Bone bait: +1
- Thorn Cluster bait: +2
- Additional bonuses from certain rods
Requiem is the most directly targeted option because it has +2 Disturbance and Omnithal Hunt Focus. Current Disturbance documentation lists that Hunt Focus as an additional +3 for the named Omnithal Hunt, rather than a universal bonus for every hunt. Requiem also has 120% lure speed, 277% luck, 63% resilience, 0.1 control, and a 1,500,000 kg maximum weight. Its details are listed on the current Requiem reference.

Hunt duration and server rules
An Omnithal Hunt lasts 10 minutes, unless a player catches the fish first. If nobody catches it, the server displays: [Omnithal Hunt] The Omnithal dissolves into the reliquary’s gloom…

The hunt is shared across the server. If another player catches Omnithal, the event ends immediately for everyone else. You cannot continue catching additional Omnithals during that same hunt.

These conditions are preferences that improve catch odds; they are not stated to be mandatory conditions for the hunt to spawn. The hunt is controlled separately by the Omnithal Hunt and Disturbance systems.
What totems can and cannot do
A Smokescreen Totem can produce fog, and a Sundial Totem can change the server’s time to night. Neither totem changes the season. More importantly, Sundial Totems cannot currently spawn or accumulate Omnithal Hunt Disturbance, so they cannot be used to stockpile the event before it appears. See the Reliquary reference for the current limitation.

When hooked, Omnithal applies −85% locked progress speed. This is forced or locked progress speed, not an ordinary progress-speed penalty. Regular progress-speed enchantments, bait effects, and most standard rod bonuses do not simply cancel it, although some rod-specific forced-progress effects can interact with the mechanic.

Omnithal also attacks during the fight:
- Each movement initially has a 14% chance to trigger a bite.
- A bite shrinks 10% of the control bar for 1.8 seconds.
- It removes 30% of your current progress.
- After each attack, the trigger chance falls by 1.4 percentage points, to a minimum of 7%.
The bite, rather than simple bar movement alone, is the major danger. Even if the fish remains inside the control bar, a bite can remove a large portion of your progress. Low resilience, limited control, and frantic overcorrection make the encounter much less forgiving.

Bait
Use Luminous Larva whenever possible. It is Omnithal’s preferred bait and the current recommended high-resilience choice. Suggested alternatives include Sapphire Krill, Snail, and Stag Beetle, depending on the effects available in your inventory.

- Resilience, to reduce movement pressure.
- Control, to keep the bar over the fish.
- Stab or progress-triggering passives, which can add progress or constrain the fish.
- Maximum weight, because Omnithal’s listed maximum base weight is approximately 2,982,000 kg.
Recommended rod categories include:
- Cerulean Fang Rod and No-Life Rod for stab-related abilities.
- Abyssal Specter Rod for high resilience or control.
- Brick Rod for its useful fight characteristics, although its low lure speed makes it inefficient for general farming.
- Requiem as a strong combined option for spawning and catching.
Requiem’s passive adds 5% progress at the start and end of an input, but rapidly spamming inputs can forcibly snap the reel. Use deliberate inputs rather than trying to activate the passive as quickly as possible.
Enchantments
Useful current recommendations include Herculean, Mystical, Piercing, Controlled, Resilient, Long, and Chaotic where applicable. On Requiem, Herculean + Controlled is the easier-control setup, while Piercing emphasizes stabbing progress.
Step-by-step catch strategy
- Enter Tidefall and reach the Sunken Reliquary fishing pool.
- Fish continuously in that pool to build Omnithal Disturbance.
- Use disturbance bonuses where available; Requiem is especially useful because of its Omnithal Hunt Focus.
- When the server announces the Omnithal Hunt, equip Luminous Larva.
- Optionally use Smokescreen for fog and Sundial for night. Do not expect either to create the hunt or change the season.
- Remain at the Reliquary pool and cast throughout the 10-minute event.
- When Omnithal is hooked, make measured movements and avoid frantic input.
- Expect bite-triggered progress losses and keep the fish inside the control bar.
- If another player catches it first, the hunt ends and you must wait for a later event.
Awakened Omnithal
An Awakened Omnithal uses the same location, hunt system, and listed preferences as the normal version. When a hunt spawns, there is a 10% chance that it is replaced by an Awakened Omnithal Hunt.
The Awakened hunt also lasts 10 minutes or ends when a player catches the fish. Its current fish-table data lists Luminous Larva, foggy weather, night, and winter as preferences, along with an average base weight of 350,000 kg and an average base value of 42,000 C$.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Fishing anywhere in Tidefall: use the Sunken Reliquary pool specifically.
- Waiting for a Sundial Totem to summon Omnithal: the hunt requires fishing-driven Disturbance.
