Released on December 3, 2025 as Luna III — “Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude — A Nocturne of the Far North,” it introduced the limited event-only 4-star bow Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow and the conditional Hexerei enhancement system. The bow was not Venti’s signature weapon, is not permanently obtainable according to the Version 6.2 notices, and does not provide a teamwide ATK buff.
What was actually added in Version 6.2?
Version 6.2 added two separate bow-related rewards and systems that were frequently confused in early leak coverage:
- Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow: a free 4-star event bow obtained from Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey.
- The Daybreak Chronicles: a separate 5-star Event Wish bow associated with Venti’s Version 6.2 weapon banner.
They are different weapons. Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow was the event reward; it was not a free version of Venti’s new 5-star bow. See the official Version 6.2 overview and weapon details.

Its weapon skill, Astral Whispers Beyond the Sacred Throne, increases the wielder’s ATK by 28% for eight seconds after the equipping character’s attacks hit an opponent while that character is off-field.

The passive is personal rather than teamwide: it raises the ATK of the character holding the bow. Its 510 base ATK also does not make it the highest-base-ATK 4-star bow. For comparison, Sacrificial Bow reaches 565 base ATK at Level 90. More weapon data is available in the weapon reference.
How the free bow was obtained
Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow and its refinement material came from the Version 6.2 flagship event Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey. The event ran from December 19, 2025, through January 5, 2026, so the original acquisition period has ended.
The event requirements were:
- Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
- Completion of Archon Quest Prologue: Act III, Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
HoYoverse recommended completing the relevant Tribal Chronicles for the best event experience. The official event notice does not identify a permanent shop source or rerun method. Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow should therefore be treated as a limited event weapon, not a permanently available free bow.

How to refine Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow
The bow does not use duplicate copies of itself. Its four refinements require the event material Refined Heart. Four Refined Hearts were available through the event, allowing the weapon to reach R5.
- Open the Character menu.
- Select Weapons.
- Choose Enhance.
- Open Refine.
- Select Refined Heart rather than looking for duplicate bows.

What were the “potential buffs” in Version 6.2?
Version 6.2 did not give a group of older characters unconditional, permanent talent buffs. Instead, it introduced Witch’s Homework, the additional talent Witch’s Eve Rite, and the conditional party effect Hexerei: Secret Rite.
The characters associated with Witch’s Homework were:
- Durin
- Venti
- Klee
- Albedo
- Mona
- Fischl
- Sucrose
- Razor
Completing a character’s relevant homework unlocks the additional talent and converts that character into a Hexerei character. The enhanced party effect requires at least two Hexerei characters in the team. These effects should not be described as unrestricted improvements to the characters’ normal base talents.
How to unlock the Hexerei system
Use the in-game path Events Overview → Witch’s Homework → Go to Quest. Completing Witch’s Homework: Solution awards The Little Witch’s Dictionary, which provides access to the character-specific homework.

The stated requirements included:
- Completion of Archon Quest Prologue: Act III, Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
- The relevant character reaching Level 70.
After the introductory quest, players could invite one character from Fischl, Sucrose, or Razor. This was a single choice, not an offer to obtain all three characters. The Version 6.2 presentation provides the system details.

Venti
Venti receives improved Elemental Burst targeting, while the Hexerei effects can strengthen his Burst and support Swirl-focused teams. His enhancement also enables stronger on-field functionality.
Klee
Klee’s Hexerei effect allows her Normal Attack sequence to trigger an additional Charged Attack, changing how her attack string can be used in combat.

Albedo
Albedo gains additional functionality for Solar Isotoma and can provide bonuses to Hexerei characters.
Fischl
Fischl gains reaction-oriented support effects connected to Overloaded, Electro-Charged, and Lunar-Charged teams.
Razor
Razor gains extra Electro damage and energy-related benefits when his Electro mechanics overflow.
The specific benefits depend on the Hexerei system and the party’s composition. The presentation and update coverage for these effects are summarized in HoYoverse’s Version 6.2 materials and the Fischl and Razor details.

Bottom line
The former “6.2 leaks” are now release-era facts: Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow is a limited 4-star Energy Recharge bow with an off-field-triggered personal ATK passive, while the character improvements belong to the conditional Hexerei system. Players who missed Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey should not assume the bow can currently be claimed through a permanent source, and teams need at least two completed Hexerei characters to activate the system’s enhanced party effect.
