AYN opened an official AliExpress storefront for its Thor and Odin 3 Android handhelds in mid-January 2026, but the listings were initially preorders, not ready-to-ship stock. The launch pages indicated that shipping would begin on or around February 28, 2026.
That distinction matters if you are comparing AliExpress with AYN’s own store or with third-party resellers. AliExpress added a legitimate purchase channel and could undercut reseller markups, but its headline price was not automatically the cheapest after shipping, taxes, coupons, and import charges.
What AYN added to AliExpress
Reports published between January 16 and 18, 2026 identified AYN’s official AliExpress storefront as carrying the Thor and Odin 3. Third-party AliExpress listings had existed before, but this was the reported arrival of an official AYN sales channel.
At launch, the official storefront listed only the Thor and Odin 3. Older handhelds, official accessories, and the lower-cost Thor Lite were not part of the reported initial lineup. The Thor Lite later appeared on AYN’s own website, so its absence from the January AliExpress launch should not be confused with permanent unavailability.

Because the launch listings were marked as preorders, “available on AliExpress” did not mean that either handheld would immediately dispatch. The pages reportedly showed a shipping start date of approximately February 28, 2026. That was a planned fulfillment date, not a guaranteed delivery date for every destination.

January 2026 launch prices
NotebookCheck reported the following AliExpress prices, excluding shipping. These are historical launch figures, not universal current prices. AliExpress totals can vary with country, currency, selected variant, coupons, sale periods, taxes, and import charges.
| Device | Configuration | Reported price |
|---|---|---|
| Thor Base | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage | $311.90 |
| Thor Pro | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage | $375.44 |
| Thor Max | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage | $447.64 |
| Odin 3 Base | 8GB RAM, 128GB storage | $341.79 |
| Odin 3 Pro | 12GB RAM, 256GB storage | $414.28 |
| Odin 3 Max | 16GB RAM, 512GB storage | $462.08 |
A separate January report showed different AliExpress totals, including shipping, for some configurations. That is not necessarily a contradiction: marketplace prices are often destination-specific, and one report may show a shipping-inclusive or promotion-adjusted amount while another shows the product price alone.
Thor versus Odin 3
AYN Thor
The Thor is the unusual option: a dual-screen Android handheld with a customized 6-inch Full HD AMOLED touchscreen and a secondary 3.92-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It has a 6,000mAh battery, Hall-effect sticks, and Android 13 according to AYN’s current product page.

AYN’s current Thor range includes:
- Thor Lite: Snapdragon 865, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1.
- Thor Base: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1.
- Thor Pro: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 12GB RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1.
- Thor Max: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 16GB RAM, with 512GB or 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.
The dual-display design is the main reason to choose the Thor. It suits buyers who want a distinctive Android gaming machine rather than the simplest conventional handheld layout.
AYN Odin 3
The Odin 3 uses a conventional single-screen design with a 6-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display. It has an 8,000mAh battery, Hall-effect sticks, and weighs approximately 390 grams. AYN’s current product page lists Android 15 and UFS 3.1 storage.
The current configurations are:
- Base: 8GB RAM, 128GB storage.
- Pro: 12GB RAM, 256GB storage.
- Max: 16GB RAM, 512GB storage.
- Ultra: 24GB RAM, 1TB storage.
Launch coverage described the Odin 3 processor as the Snapdragon 8 Elite. AYN’s later product page instead uses the name Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8. Those labels should not be silently treated as identical claims; the current manufacturer terminology differs from the terminology used in the launch reports.

- Odin 3: Batch 8 preorder, with shipping stated to begin in August.
The official-site starting prices shown at that time were $259 for the Thor and $349 for the Odin 3. Selecting higher RAM or storage tiers changes the price; the Thor Max 1TB was listed at $579. These figures should be dated because they do not establish the price of an AliExpress checkout in every region.
AYN also announced a July 2026 price adjustment. The notice listed increases including Thor Lite from $249 to $259, Thor Base from $319 to $329, Thor Pro from $399 to $409, Thor Max 512GB from $469 to $479, and Thor Max 1TB from $549 to $579. It also announced an additional $10 increase for Odin 3 models. These were manufacturer price-adjustment figures, not a promise that every AliExpress listing would display the same amount.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is official AliExpress cheaper than buying from AYN?
At launch, the official AliExpress store appeared substantially more credible and generally cheaper than third-party reseller listings, which had reportedly added significant markups. However, AYN’s own website was still somewhat cheaper than the reported official AliExpress prices in several comparisons.

The correct comparison is the final checkout total:
- Console price for the exact RAM and storage variant.
- Shipping to your address.
- Sales tax and any displayed import fees.
- Currency-conversion or payment costs.
- AliExpress coupons or regional promotions.
- AYN’s direct-store shipping charge and any applicable taxes.
AliExpress may win during a platform sale or with a usable coupon, and it may be more convenient in regions where direct AYN checkout is difficult. AYN’s own store, however, generally exposes batch information more clearly and provides the manufacturer’s direct product, warranty, and support context. AYN’s product pages list a one-year warranty, but buyers should not assume that AliExpress orders have identical return handling or return-shipping arrangements.
How to avoid the common AliExpress mistakes
- Confirm the seller. Do not assume that every listing containing “AYN Thor” or “Odin 3” belongs to AYN. Check the store identity and official badge where available.
- Select the actual console variant. Verify the model, RAM, storage, color, and whether the option is a console, accessory, deposit, or balance payment.
- Read the dispatch estimate. “Available” can still mean preorder or batch allocation. Check the estimated shipping date for your destination.
- Calculate the complete total. Add shipping, tax, import fees, and any coupon restrictions before comparing with AYN’s direct price.
- Read warranty and returns. Confirm who handles support, where a return must be sent, and whether return shipping is covered.
- Check the production batch. Later batches can differ from launch listings in price, storage configuration, and delivery timing.
Neither product includes games preinstalled according to AYN’s current product pages. Buying an Android gaming handheld does not mean that commercial games or ROMs are bundled with it.
Accessories and alternatives
AYN’s direct store lists an Odin 3 accessories pack at $30, reduced from $60, and separately lists an Odin 3 grip, case, and screen protector. Thor-specific listings include a stylus, carrying case, TPU grip, soft pouch, and accessories pack. These are optional; check whether an AliExpress bundle already includes equivalent items before paying twice.
Recommended Free Tools
The Odin 2 Portal is a lower-priced alternative on AYN’s store, but it is a different product rather than a direct Odin 3 equivalent. Older Odin models may also appeal to buyers who do not need the newest platform, although availability varies.
Bottom line
AYN did open an official AliExpress channel for the Thor and Odin 3 in January 2026, but the launch was a preorder event rather than immediate in-stock fulfillment. The store was a safer alternative to unknown resellers and could become cheaper with promotions, yet AYN’s direct website often offered a lower baseline price and clearer batch information. Compare the complete checkout total and fulfillment terms, not just the AliExpress sticker price.
