NVIDIA also announced six games available to stream that day. This was a historical rollout, not a new 2026 launch; Samsung TV support and GeForce NOW’s plans and catalog have since evolved.
What launched on Samsung Gaming Hub?
Samsung Gaming Hub is the TV interface for discovering and opening cloud-gaming services. GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s streaming service: it runs supported PC games remotely and sends the video to your device. The June 30, 2022 announcement brought GeForce NOW directly to supported Samsung TVs, so players did not need a separate gaming PC or console to stream compatible titles. They still needed an account and, for games tied to PC storefronts, the relevant game entitlement.
At launch, NVIDIA named the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and Spain as regions with Samsung Gaming Hub availability. It separately said users in other supported GeForce NOW regions could access the GeForce NOW app on Samsung TVs; that did not establish that the full Gaming Hub experience was available in every such region. NVIDIA’s June 30, 2022 announcement has the launch details.
Which six games were announced?
NVIDIA said these six titles were available on GeForce NOW that day. The storefront column reflects the stores named in the announcement; being listed in the cloud-streaming catalog did not make a game free with a membership.

Which Samsung TVs can run GeForce NOW?
At the 2022 launch
The announcement described support on supported 2022 Samsung Smart TVs, not every Samsung television. Contemporary coverage pointed to many 2022 Neo QLED and OLED models, but that is not a guarantee for every model, market or firmware version. Android Headlines’ launch coverage provides additional period context.

Current device guidance
NVIDIA’s current system-requirements page lists Samsung TVs from 2020 through 2025 among supported Smart TV devices. That year range does not mean every model is compatible. Confirm your exact model, firmware and regional service availability against NVIDIA’s system requirements and Samsung’s Gaming Hub information before relying on built-in access.
What do you need to play?
- A compatible device: a supported Samsung TV with current software, or another supported GeForce NOW device.
- A GeForce NOW account: membership options and their limits vary by tier.
- A gamepad: NVIDIA says TV gameplay requires a supported controller. Its listed families include NVIDIA-recommended gamepads, Xbox controllers, PS5 DualSense and DualShock 4. Other controllers may work, but some need firmware or driver updates. A keyboard and mouse can navigate the TV app but are not the general gameplay input.
- Game access: for a title tied to a store, connect the right account and own or otherwise have access to the game. GeForce NOW is not a universal subscription that includes every game it can stream.
- A stable internet connection: speed matters, but latency, packet loss, Wi-Fi congestion and other household traffic can affect play too.
For the current controller and connection guidance, see NVIDIA’s system requirements.

- HANDPICKED BY AMAZON: They did the research so you don’t have to.
- WRAP YOURSELF IN ADVENTURE: Experience the next level of gaming with vivid scenes wrapped around your field of view. The 49" 1000R curved screen with Dual QHD resolution enables full peripheral vision, putting you right into the character's shoes.
- LIGHTENING-FAST RESPONSE TIME: Conquer every enemy with extreme speed. A 240Hz refresh rate eliminates lag for ultra-smooth action. 1ms(GtG)* response time allows for blur-free frames and minimized ghosting, enabling you to game with precision.
- GROUNDBREAKING DISPLAY: See every detail in all its glory. From gloomy shadows to sun-scorched scenes, 1000 nit peak brightness and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio enhance color expression and depth. Gain an edge by spotting enemies in dark corners.
- IMMERSE YOURSELF WITHOUT DISRUPTION: Hyperfast action made seamless. Complex and fast-moving game scenes are projected smoothly and stutter-free with AMD FreeSyncTM Premium Pro to power your competitive edge.
What internet speed and controller does a TV need?
NVIDIA’s current Smart TV guidance gives these bandwidth targets:
| Streaming target | Published bandwidth |
|---|---|
| HD, up to 60 FPS | 15 Mbps |
| Full HD, 60 FPS | 25 Mbps |
| 4K, 60 FPS | 40 Mbps |
| 4K, 120 FPS | 45 Mbps |
NVIDIA recommends Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and latency below 80 ms to a GeForce NOW data center. These are service targets, not a promise that a particular TV, game or network will deliver the listed resolution and frame rate. Ethernet is often the more dependable living-room choice, especially for high-resolution streams or games sensitive to input delay. A strong speed-test result alone cannot rule out jitter, packet loss or congestion.

Latency is more noticeable in competitive shooters, rhythm games and fast racing than in many turn-based, strategy or narrative games. TV processing and whether Game Mode is enabled can also affect how responsive the picture feels.
How GeForce NOW has changed since 2022
In 2022, NVIDIA described a library of more than 1,300 games. That was a historical figure, not a current catalog count. NVIDIA now advertises more than 4,500 PC games and connections to supported libraries and subscriptions including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect. Store connection does not mean every title on that store is streamable; availability is title-specific and can change. See NVIDIA’s current service page.

SHIELD TV software update
NVIDIA also announced SHIELD Software Experience Upgrade 9.1, with automatic Game Mode switching on TVs that support automatic low-latency mode, a night listening mode and microphone notifications intended to identify the active microphone when multiple devices were connected. These were SHIELD TV features, not Samsung Gaming Hub features. The GeForce NOW client update v2.0.42 was separately described as adjusting streaming resolution to better fit network conditions.
Troubleshooting common TV problems
GeForce NOW is missing from Gaming Hub
- Update the TV software, restart the TV and reopen Gaming Hub.
- Check the exact TV model against NVIDIA’s system requirements and confirm service availability in your region.
- If the built-in app remains unavailable, check NVIDIA’s supported-device information for another device you already own. Do not assume every streaming device or browser is supported.
The controller pairs but does not work in a game
- Disconnect the controller from nearby phones, PCs or consoles that may be claiming it.
- Remove it from the TV’s Bluetooth device list, then pair it again.
- Update its firmware if the manufacturer provides an update.
- Test with an Xbox or PlayStation controller from NVIDIA’s listed Smart TV controller families.
The stream is blurry or stutters
- Pause downloads, backups and other video streams sharing the connection.
- Move from 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to 5 GHz, or connect the TV by Ethernet.
- Reduce streaming quality or resolution if the connection cannot sustain the selected target.
- Restart the router and TV, then check latency and packet loss as well as bandwidth.
- Try at another time to see whether network congestion is contributing.
A listed game will not launch
Check that the game is currently supported, that the correct store account is connected and that the account has the needed entitlement. Regional availability, catalog changes or synchronization delays can also affect a listing. A game appearing in a past announcement does not guarantee that it remains available on your account today.
