It is not Samsung-made hardware: PDP manufactures the controller, while Samsung’s program certifies accessories for compatibility, quality, performance, safety and security on supported Samsung devices.
The REPLAY’s appeal is convenience—especially its Gaming Hub shortcut and TV controls—not exclusive access to cloud gaming. Samsung already supports several Xbox, PlayStation and Amazon Luna controllers. As of August 18, 2026, Samsung lists the REPLAY Midnight Blue for select 2022–2024 Samsung Smart TVs and monitors, but its purchase links redirect to a general Turtle Beach controller collection, so current stock and pricing are not confirmed.
What Samsung announced on January 5, 2024
Samsung announced both a partner-accessory certification program and its first certified product: the PDP REPLAY Wireless Controller. The announcement was made ahead of CES 2024, not as a new 2026 launch. Samsung describes the “Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub” designation as a way to identify accessories tested for compatibility, quality, performance, safety and security on Samsung devices. That designation does not prove that the REPLAY has lower latency, better durability or superior performance to every Xbox or PlayStation controller.
PDP is the hardware maker and Samsung is the licensing and certification partner. Samsung’s announcement is available at Samsung Newsroom.

Compatibility: check the exact Samsung model
Samsung’s current U.S. controller page lists the REPLAY Midnight Blue as compatible with select 2022–2024 Samsung Smart TVs and monitors. PDP additionally lists select 2022, 2023 and 2024 Samsung Smart TVs, monitors and the second-generation Samsung Freestyle projector with Gaming Hub.
- Do not assume every Samsung TV or monitor released from 2022 through 2024 is supported.
- Support for Samsung models released after 2024 is not established by these listings.
- Gaming Hub availability and cloud services vary by country and region.
- Compatibility with other Bluetooth devices, including PCs, consoles or non-Samsung TVs, is not established by the cited material.
Before buying, check the model number and software information against Samsung’s Gaming Hub controller page. Samsung’s general Gaming Hub overview also notes that service availability varies by market.
Pairing and using the controller
The available product pages do not publish a single pairing procedure that applies to every TV generation. A safe setup sequence is:

- Open the Samsung device’s controller or Bluetooth settings.
- Select the REPLAY when it appears in the device list.
- After pairing, test the Gaming Hub button and power, volume and mute controls.
- If pairing works but a particular cloud-gaming app does not accept an input, check that service’s controller support and update the Samsung device software.

Do you need the REPLAY for Gaming Hub?
No. Samsung’s supported-controller list includes the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, PlayStation DualSense, DualSense Edge, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualShock 4 and Amazon Luna Wireless Controller. Samsung also describes phone-based and remote-control options for some Gaming Hub experiences.
Reasons to choose the REPLAY
- A dedicated Gaming Hub button can be quicker than navigating with a remote.
- Power and audio controls reduce the need to switch between controller and TV remote.
- The rechargeable battery avoids disposable batteries, with a manufacturer rating of up to 40 hours per charge.
- Remappable rear buttons add controls without moving to a premium controller tier.
- The accessory was specifically tested and licensed for Samsung Gaming Hub compatibility.
Reasons to use a controller you already own
- Samsung already supports Xbox and PlayStation gamepads, so basic Gaming Hub access does not require the REPLAY.
- An existing DualSense or Xbox controller may provide better value than buying another gamepad.
- The REPLAY’s Samsung shortcut and TV controls may not justify a second controller for occasional play.
- No cited source establishes esports-grade latency, Hall-effect sticks, superior durability or universal PC, Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo compatibility.
How it compares with common alternatives
| Controller | Best fit | What the REPLAY adds or lacks |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Wireless Controller | Owners of Xbox hardware or users wanting a broadly supported gamepad | Samsung lists it for Gaming Hub; it does not provide the REPLAY’s dedicated Samsung shortcut or stated TV-control integration |
| PlayStation DualSense | PlayStation owners who already have a DualSense | Reuse existing hardware; no stated Samsung shortcut or TV controls |
| PlayStation DualSense Edge | Owners of a premium PlayStation controller | Advanced PlayStation hardware may be unnecessary for casual cloud gaming |
| Xbox Adaptive Controller | Players needing an adaptable accessibility-oriented setup | Designed for flexible accessibility connections rather than TV-remote convenience |
| Amazon Luna Wireless Controller | Amazon Luna users | Service-focused alternative rather than Samsung-specific integration |

Price and availability in 2026
PDP’s last indexed listing showed $49.99, but that is a historical or previously listed price, not a verified current price as of August 18, 2026. Samsung still lists the REPLAY, yet its “Buy now” link leads to Turtle Beach’s general controller collection, and the old PDP product URL redirects there as well. The current collection is Turtle Beach’s controller page.
Treat availability as unresolved. If you find a listing, confirm the seller, condition, warranty, return policy and the exact model before paying; do not rely on a $49.99 price badge copied from the older PDP page.
Who should buy it?
Good fit
- A Samsung Gaming Hub household that needs its first compatible gamepad.
- A casual or family cloud-gaming user who values TV power and audio controls.
- A buyer whose exact 2022–2024 Samsung model is listed as compatible and who can verify a reputable current listing.
Poor fit
- Anyone who already owns a supported Xbox or PlayStation controller and does not need TV controls.
- Competitive players seeking independently measured latency, advanced stick technology or proven tournament durability.
- Owners of Samsung TVs newer than the explicitly listed generations.
- Buyers who require confirmed stock, current pricing or a dedicated manufacturer sales page.
Bottom line
The REPLAY is a PDP controller announced by Samsung on January 5, 2024—not a Samsung-built gamepad and not a requirement for Gaming Hub. Its dedicated Gaming Hub shortcut, TV controls and rechargeable battery make it a sensible convenience purchase for a compatible Samsung setup. Existing Xbox or PlayStation owners should try their current controller first, and every buyer should verify the exact Samsung model and live availability before purchasing.
