Yes. Galaxy Buds2 Pro can pair directly with Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, and Nintendo Switch 2 through the console’s Bluetooth Audio settings; you do not need the Galaxy Wearable app. The connection is for audio only: Nintendo does not support Bluetooth microphones, warns that audio delay may occur, limits Bluetooth audio to two connected wireless controllers, and disconnects it during local wireless communication. Nintendo’s Bluetooth audio guide and its Switch 2 guide describe the console-side process.

Before you begin

  • Charge the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and their case, and update the console to its latest available system version. Nintendo recommends updating before pairing.
  • Disconnect the earbuds from any phone, tablet, computer, or TV they may reconnect to. If needed, temporarily turn Bluetooth off on that device.
  • Keep no more than two wireless controllers connected while Bluetooth audio is in use. If local wireless multiplayer is active, end it before pairing.

Nintendo’s Switch Bluetooth-audio instructions cover the original Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED. Switch 2 has a separate support guide, with a similar settings path. Nintendo does not publish a model-by-model compatibility list for the Buds2 Pro; this connection uses standard Bluetooth audio pairing. Nintendo’s pairing troubleshooting guide also recommends updating the console.

Put Galaxy Buds2 Pro into pairing mode

  1. Place both earbuds in their matching slots in the charging case.
  2. Close the case lid, then open it again.
  3. Leave both earbuds in the case and touch and hold both earbuds’ touchpads at the same time for about three seconds.
  4. Wait for the case lights to flash, indicating pairing mode.

This is the Buds2 Pro procedure: do not look for or press a pairing button on the case. If the earbuds reconnect to a nearby phone, disconnect them there or turn off that device’s Bluetooth, then try again. See Samsung’s Galaxy Buds pairing instructions.

Pair with Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, or Switch OLED

  1. From the HOME Menu, open System Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Bluetooth Audio.
  3. Select Pair Device.
  4. Wait for the console to search, then select Galaxy Buds2 Pro when it appears.
  5. Wait for the connected status, then play a game or system sound to check the audio.

Audio should route to the earbuds once they are connected. For a saved pair later, open System Settings → Bluetooth Audio, select the Buds2 Pro entry, and choose Connect Device. Nintendo’s full instructions are at Bluetooth audio on Nintendo Switch.

Pair with Nintendo Switch 2

  1. Open System Settings from the HOME Menu.
  2. Select Bluetooth Audio, then Pair Device.
  3. Put the Buds2 Pro into pairing mode using the steps above.
  4. Select the earbuds’ name when it appears and confirm that audio plays through them.

Nintendo documents this process separately for Switch 2 at Bluetooth audio on Nintendo Switch 2. Its Bluetooth-audio restrictions include using one audio device at a time, a maximum of two connected wireless controllers, and disconnection during local communication.

What works—and what does not

Feature Direct Bluetooth connection
Game and system audio Yes
Galaxy Wearable app on the console No; the Switch does not run the app. The app is not required for basic Bluetooth playback.
Buds2 Pro microphones for Switch audio or voice chat No; Nintendo says Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
Audio delay Possible; Nintendo warns that latency can vary by Bluetooth device.
More than two connected wireless controllers Not while Bluetooth audio is active.
Local wireless communication Bluetooth audio disconnects during local communication.
Multiple Bluetooth audio devices in use at once No. A console can save up to 10 Bluetooth audio devices, but only one can be used at a time.

Basic audio does not mean every Samsung feature carries over. Samsung says the Buds2 Pro can connect to devices without Galaxy Wearable support, but app-dependent settings and controls may be unavailable or limited. Configure features such as ANC or Ambient Sound on a compatible device beforehand if you need a particular setting, and do not assume that Samsung-specific codec, 360 Audio, or Auto Switch features will operate through the Switch connection. Samsung explains direct Bluetooth use without Galaxy Wearable support.

The two-controller limit matters in multiplayer: a pair of Joy-Con counts as two wireless controllers, so adding another wireless controller while Bluetooth audio is active may exceed the limit. Nintendo’s local-wireless warning should not be confused with a blanket ban on online play; the stated interruption concerns local wireless communication.

Troubleshoot pairing and connection problems

The Buds2 Pro do not appear in the device list

  1. Check that both earbuds are seated in the case and charged; close and reopen the lid.
  2. Hold both touchpads at once for about three seconds while the earbuds remain in the case, and wait for the case lights to flash.
  3. Turn Bluetooth off on the phone or other device that usually connects to the Buds.
  4. Update and restart the console, then return to System Settings → Bluetooth Audio → Pair Device.
  5. Move the case close to the console, reduce obstructions or nearby interference where practical, and disconnect extra wireless controllers so no more than two remain.

Nintendo recommends restarting the console and audio device, moving the device closer, reducing controller connections, and avoiding local wireless activity during Bluetooth-audio troubleshooting. See Nintendo’s troubleshooting steps.

The Buds are saved but will not reconnect

  1. Make sure the earbuds are not connected to another device. Place them in the case and reopen it to restart their connection.
  2. Restart the console, then open System Settings → Bluetooth Audio.
  3. Select the saved Buds2 Pro entry and choose Connect Device.
  4. If the connection still fails, remove the saved entry and pair the earbuds again as a new device.

Nintendo recommends removing a saved device and pairing again if it will not connect. See Nintendo’s saved-device troubleshooting guide.

The Buds connect, but there is no sound or it comes from the wrong device

  • Confirm the console lists the Buds as connected, not merely saved, and check volume on both the console and earbuds.
  • Disconnect the Buds from any phone, tablet, or computer, then reconnect them through the console’s Bluetooth Audio menu.
  • If the earbuds switch away or audio drops, check whether another nearby device has claimed the connection, local wireless communication has started, or the earbuds are too far from the console. Restarting and updating the devices can also help.

Audio cuts out or sounds delayed

Move closer to the console and reduce obstructions, then check whether local wireless communication has begun or more than two wireless controllers are connected. Nintendo warns that Bluetooth audio latency can occur, but does not provide a universal delay figure; test with a timing-sensitive game to decide whether it is acceptable.

Should you use a Bluetooth transmitter instead?

Try the Switch’s built-in Bluetooth first: it costs nothing and is sufficient for many players who need game audio, play solo or with one other wireless controller, and can tolerate possible delay. A USB-C Bluetooth transmitter is worth considering if the built-in connection is unreliable or its latency is distracting, or if you want one transmitter for several devices. An adapter does not guarantee zero delay, restore Samsung-only features, or automatically enable Nintendo Bluetooth microphone support; results depend on the transmitter, its selected mode or codec, the earbuds, and the console.

Creative lists the BT-W6 as supporting Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, with USB-C handheld use and Classic Bluetooth and LE Audio support. Its published system requirements are Switch system version 5.0 or later for the original Switch and 20.2.0 or later for Switch 2. The product page does not establish compatibility with Galaxy Buds2 Pro specifically, so verify that pairing combination with the manufacturer before buying. Check current availability and price on Creative’s BT-W6 page; its support article describes pairing controls and mode switching.

Wired headphones are a simpler alternative when you want to avoid Bluetooth pairing and its potential delay. If you need a microphone for multiplayer voice chat, choose a setup explicitly supported for that purpose rather than relying on the Buds2 Pro microphone through the console’s Bluetooth audio connection.
