The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 aired on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), followed immediately by a dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct. The event has concluded; watch the official Xbox replay or read Xbox’s announcement recap for the full lineup.
What was the Xbox Games Showcase 2024?
It was Xbox’s major summer presentation focused on upcoming games from Microsoft-owned studios and external partners, rather than a hardware briefing. The 2024 lineup brought together games associated with Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Xbox Game Studios and third-party partners. Xbox announced the format and participating portfolio in its April event announcement.
The broadcast had two consecutive parts: the Xbox Games Showcase, then the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct. The follow-up had initially been teased as a mystery presentation, but Xbox identified it before the event. It was not a separate show scheduled for another day.

The Xbox watch announcement gives the event details and official viewing channels: Xbox Games Showcase and Black Ops 6 Direct: how to watch.
Where can you watch the replay?
The official Xbox YouTube replay is the simplest option if you want the event in order, including the Black Ops 6 segment. Xbox also streamed through its official YouTube, Twitch and Facebook channels, alongside Bethesda and Activision Blizzard channels. Xbox advertised 4K/60fps streams on the Xbox, Bethesda and Activision Games YouTube channels; other streams were offered at 1080p/60fps. The 4K specification applied to those named YouTube streams, not every platform.

The combined replay is roughly 1 hour and 47 minutes, according to retrospective event listing information; that is not a runtime Xbox promised before the broadcast, and totals can vary depending on whether surrounding material is counted.
What did the Black Ops 6 Direct cover?
The Direct was a substantial second presentation, not just a brief trailer after the showcase. It focused on the game’s campaign setting and story, gameplay systems and footage, and Zombies mode. Viewers interested in Call of Duty needed to stay past the main Xbox presentation to see it.

What was reasonable to expect before the show?
Before the broadcast, the clearest distinction was between the confirmed Call of Duty follow-up, already-announced games with 2024 release windows, and titles that were only the subject of reporting or speculation. A game being expected did not mean Xbox had confirmed its appearance.
| Game or group | Pre-show basis | Status before the broadcast |
|---|---|---|
| Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 | Xbox confirmed a dedicated Direct immediately after the showcase. | Confirmed |
| Avowed | An announced Xbox game expected in 2024. | Strong possibility, not a confirmed showcase appearance |
| Indiana Jones and the Great Circle | An announced Bethesda game expected in 2024. | Strong possibility, not a confirmed showcase appearance |
| Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 | Previously announced for 2024. | Strong possibility, not a confirmed showcase appearance |
| Starfield: Shattered Space | A known expansion expected later in 2024. | Strong possibility, not a confirmed showcase appearance |
| Doom | Contemporary reporting and speculation pointed to a new game. | Unconfirmed expectation |
| Gears of War | Industry speculation anticipated another Gears project. | Unconfirmed expectation |
| Fable, Perfect Dark and State of Decay 3 | Existing Xbox projects drew speculation about new updates. | Possible, not confirmed |
The distinction between confirmed information and predictions mattered: Xbox had confirmed the event format and Black Ops 6 Direct, not a full game-by-game lineup. Contemporary reporting on the mystery follow-up and possible games is available from GameSpot.

What the showcase did not establish
The event’s confirmed focus was games; it was not presented as a broad Xbox hardware or platform-strategy briefing. It did not establish a new console or handheld announcement, a new Halo reveal, or news about the next mainline Fallout or Elder Scrolls. Nor should the appearance of a game be taken to mean it was exclusive to Xbox, launching in 2024, or included with Game Pass: platforms, dates and subscription availability vary by title. An absence from one showcase is not evidence that a project has been canceled.
