BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P Review: Is This 24-inch 144Hz Monitor Worth Buying in 2026?

The XL2411P remains a fast 24-inch 144Hz esports monitor, but in 2026 it is worth buying only when a tested used unit is substantially cheaper than a modern adaptive-sync IPS display.

Verdict: The BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P is still a responsive 1080p esports monitor, but it is now a used-market proposition. Its 144Hz TN panel, very low tested input lag, fast motion handling, and adjustable stand suit competitive PC gaming. However, it has no FreeSync or G-SYNC, limited image quality, dated connectivity, and BenQ’s regional page showed it as discontinued and out of stock on August 18, 2026. Buy one only when it is substantially cheaper than a newer 144Hz/165Hz IPS monitor and the individual panel passes inspection.

Who should still consider it?

The XL2411P makes sense for a player who primarily runs Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League or other high-frame-rate competitive games on a desktop PC. A 24-inch 1080p image is easy for a mid-range system to drive at high frame rates, and the compact screen keeps the whole play area within a practical field of view.

  • Choose it when the used or clearance price is clearly below comparable modern 144Hz/165Hz monitors.
  • Choose it when your graphics card has DisplayPort or genuine dual-link DVI.
  • Choose it when you sit directly in front of the display and prioritize motion and latency over color and viewing angles.
  • Skip it for HDR, shared viewing, color-critical work, extensive multitasking, console 120Hz gaming or a laptop without suitable video output.
  • Skip it when its price approaches a current IPS monitor with adaptive sync.

BenQ’s regional listing showed the model as “Discontinued” and “Out of stock” on August 18, 2026; remaining availability can vary by country and retailer.

Gaming performance

144Hz, low latency and response behavior

At 144Hz, a new frame can arrive about every 6.9 milliseconds instead of every 16.7 milliseconds at 60Hz. That can make camera movement and mouse control look smoother when the computer is actually producing high frame rates. It does not guarantee better aim or faster reactions: frame pacing, game-engine latency, input devices and player skill still matter.

Independent testing by RTINGS found excellent gaming responsiveness and outstandingly low input lag. Tom’s Hardware also described the monitor as a fast competitive display. These are measured review results, not a promise that every used unit will perform identically.

The TN panel is designed for speed and consistency rather than wide viewing angles or premium color. BenQ’s “1ms” label is a GTG specification; it should not be read as every pixel transition completing in exactly one millisecond or as proof that all overdrive settings are artifact-free.

  • BETTER COLOR PERFORMANCE — The XL2566X+ has been meticulously redesigned to enhance color performance, offering more vibrant hues and greater clarity in identifying enemies.
  • LATEST DYNAMIC ACCURACY TECHNOLOGY (DYAC 2) — With its dual backlight technology, DyAc 2 enhances performance in blur reduction while it offers a soft light output, facilitating eye adaptation.

Blur Reduction

The XL2411P includes a backlight-strobing blur-reduction mode. Tom’s Hardware found that it can substantially reduce perceived motion blur, but brightness drops considerably. Strobing is most useful with a stable refresh rate and consistent frame delivery. It can be less attractive in a bright room and may produce flicker or double images when timing is poor. Blur Reduction is a separate choice from adaptive sync, which this monitor does not provide.

Black eQualizer and Color Vibrance

Black eQualizer raises visibility in dark areas, while Color Vibrance changes the perceived saturation. Both are gaming-oriented OSD controls, not replacements for good native contrast or calibrated color. Excessive Black eQualizer can turn blacks gray and flatten the image.

Image quality: usable, but dated

The matte screen and roughly 350-nit typical brightness work well in a normally lit room and help reduce reflections. Color can be improved with sensible OSD adjustments or calibration. For a player facing the screen directly, the image is perfectly functional.

BenQ Zowie XL2586X+ 24.1 DyAc 2 600Hz Fast TN Gaming Monitor for Esports
  • PROVIDE THE BEST MOTION CLARITY IN THE INDUSTRY — Compared to any other panel types, a Fast TN panel with DyAc technology provide clearer and sharper images.
  • SHARPEST AND CLEAREST VISUALS — At the resolutions most commonly used by pro players, our Fast TN panel with native FHD resolution provides better image sharpness.
  • OVERSHOOT REDUCED WITH NEWLY DEVELOPED FAST TN PANEL — The latest panel design improves electrical conductivity, enhancing liquid crystal responsiveness and effectively reducing overshoot.
  • VIVID COLOR FILM — The XL2586X+ features a new vivid color film that improves color performance by 35%, enhancing target visibility and reducing color wash-out compared to standard TN panels.
  • LATEST DYNAMIC ACCURACY TECHNOLOGY (Dyac 2) — With its dual backlight technology, DyAc 2 enhances performance in blur reduction while it offers a soft light output, facilitating eye adaptation.
  • Viewing angles: TN shifts in brightness and color noticeably when viewed off-center, much more than a modern IPS panel.
  • Black performance: RTINGS reported poor black uniformity, so dark-room scenes can look uneven.
  • Resolution: 1080p at 24 inches is practical for esports but cramped for multiple windows, editing timelines and detailed desktop work.
  • HDR and wide gamut: HDR is not supported, and this is not a modern wide-gamut display.

For movies, single-player games and shared viewing, an IPS monitor generally offers a more convincing picture even if its response tuning is less focused on esports.

Getting a real 144Hz signal

Use DisplayPort 1.2 whenever possible. BenQ identifies DisplayPort and dual-link DVI as the XL2411P’s 144Hz paths; do not assume that HDMI offers the same mode. The HDMI input is limited to HDMI 1.4 bandwidth, and BenQ’s support guidance does not identify it as the preferred 144Hz connection.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Connect DisplayPort directly from the graphics card to the monitor. If using DVI, verify that the cable is dual-link.
  2. Install or update the graphics driver.
  3. In Windows display settings, select the XL2411P, open advanced display settings and choose 144Hz at 1920 × 1080.
  4. Set the game’s display mode and refresh rate to match.
  5. Confirm that the cable is plugged into the graphics card rather than the motherboard.

BenQ’s 144Hz support FAQ explains the DisplayPort/dual-link-DVI distinction and the difference from the older XL2411. If 144Hz is missing, check the cable type, GPU port, driver, duplicated-display mode, game setting and possible port damage. A passive DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter is not equivalent to a native DisplayPort connection.

BenQ Zowie XL2546X+ 24.1 DyAc 2 280Hz Fast TN Gaming Monitor for Esports
  • PROVIDE THE BEST MOTION CLARITY IN THE INDUSTRY — Compared to any other panel types, a Fast TN panel with DyAc technology provide clearer and sharper images.
  • SHARPER AND CLEARER than IPS — a Fast TN panel provides clearer and sharper outlines of overall moving images, helping you focus and have less distractions from the unwanted afterimage of the motions in-game.
  • OVERSHOOT REDUCED WITH NEWLY DEVELOPED FAST TN PANEL — The latest panel design improves electrical conductivity, enhancing liquid crystal responsiveness and effectively reducing overshoot.
  • BETTER COLOR PERFORMANCE — The XL2546X+ has been meticulously redesigned to enhance color performance, offering more vibrant hues and greater clarity in identifying enemies.
  • LATEST DYNAMIC ACCURACY TECHNOLOGY (DYAC 2) — With its dual backlight technology, DyAc 2 enhances performance in blur reduction while it offers a soft light output, facilitating eye adaptation.

Do not use custom resolutions or overclock the panel. BenQ warns that unsupported refresh-rate settings can damage the monitor and may affect warranty coverage; see its XL2411P FAQ.

Adaptive sync and frame-rate limits

The XL2411P has no AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC, as documented by RTINGS and Tom’s Hardware. When frame rate and the fixed 144Hz scan are out of alignment, tearing can occur. V-SYNC or an in-game frame cap can reduce it, but those options involve their own latency or smoothness trade-offs.

A system that holds a frame rate near 144fps can still feel excellent. A system with frequent dips will usually benefit from a newer adaptive-sync monitor, which can coordinate refresh timing with fluctuating frame delivery.

Design, stand and connectivity

The esports-focused chassis is plain but practical. The stand provides height adjustment, swivel, tilt and portrait pivot, features absent from many inexpensive displays. The 100 × 100mm VESA pattern also permits a monitor arm if its weight rating matches the display.

There is no USB hub and no internal speaker system. You get a headphone output, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI and dual-link DVI-D. Those older inputs are useful for legacy desktops but less convenient with modern laptops and graphics cards.

Console compatibility

This is primarily a PC monitor. BenQ’s comparison information lists the XL2411P at up to 60Hz for consoles, so it is a poor choice if your main goal is 120Hz PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X gaming. The later XL2411K is listed for console 120Hz, but its regional page was also marked discontinued/out of stock when checked. See BenQ’s comparison page and XL2411K product page.

XL2411, XL2411P and XL2411K: do not confuse the suffixes

Model Key connection or feature difference Best interpretation
XL2411 No DisplayPort; BenQ identifies dual-link DVI as its 144Hz route Older revision; verify ports before buying
XL2411P Adds DisplayPort 1.2; 144Hz via DisplayPort or dual-link DVI Model reviewed here
XL2411K Adds DyAc, XL Setting to Share, HDMI 2.0 and console 120Hz support Newer design, but regional availability was also listed as discontinued/out of stock

Check the label on the rear of the monitor and the full listing title. “XL2411,” “XL2411P,” “XL2411Z” and “XL2411K” are not interchangeable.

What to check before buying used

  1. Display full-screen white, black, red, green and blue images to find dead or stuck pixels, uneven backlight and persistent marks.
  2. Run 1920 × 1080 at 144Hz through DisplayPort or dual-link DVI and verify that the signal remains stable.
  3. Test every input, the headphone output, brightness changes and the OSD buttons.
  4. Look for flicker, horizontal lines, intermittent black screens or signal dropouts.
  5. Exercise height, swivel, tilt and pivot mechanisms; confirm the stand, power cable and suitable video cable are included.
  6. Inspect the exact model suffix and obtain a return window. Age-related brightness loss, damaged ports and transport damage are real risks.

How it compares with a modern monitor

The relevant comparison in 2026 is not the XL2411P versus a 60Hz office display. It is the XL2411P versus a current 24-inch 1080p IPS monitor rated at 144Hz or 165Hz. Newer IPS models commonly add adaptive sync, modern HDMI, wider viewing angles and better general-purpose image quality. The older BenQ can still win for a buyer who values its tested low latency, TN motion behavior, ergonomic stand and familiar ZOWIE controls—but only when the used price creates a meaningful saving.

Final buying advice

Buy the XL2411P for inexpensive, competitive PC gaming when you have DisplayPort, can sustain high frame rates and have verified the panel. Skip it when the seller asks anything close to the cost of a new adaptive-sync IPS display, when HDMI-only use is planned, or when console 120Hz and image quality are priorities. Its strengths remain legitimate; its discontinued status, fixed refresh rate and dated TN image make price and condition decisive.
