Mine Ore nodes with a pickaxe or a Mining-suitable Pal. For a renewable supply, place a Palbox over a dense group of nodes, assign Mining Pals, and build nearby storage, beds and food. Later, an Ore Mining Site—or Ore Mining Site II—can produce Ore continuously when staffed by Mining-suitability Pals inside the base area.
Ways to get Ore
| Method | What you need | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Manual mining | An appropriate pickaxe and access to a natural Ore node | Getting a small amount quickly, especially early in the game |
| Pal mining | A Pal with Mining Work Suitability | Working natural deposits while you handle other tasks |
| Ore base | A Palbox covering a node cluster, Mining Pals, storage and basic base logistics | Building a repeatable stockpile from natural deposits |
| Ore Mining Site | The structure inside a Palbox base area and Mining-suitability Pals | Continuous Ore production without relying on natural nodes |
How to mine Ore manually
- Find a deposit. Look for the distinctive Ore nodes in the open world. A pocket containing roughly five to 10 deposits is efficient when you need a large haul.
- Equip a pickaxe. Strike the node until it is exhausted and collect the Ore it drops.
- Use a Mining Pal when convenient. A Pal with Mining Work Suitability can work natural deposits, allowing you to collect or organize resources while it mines.
- Manage your carry weight. Ore is heavy. Return to a chest or base before your inventory becomes overloaded; a nearby container shortens every trip.
Stone boulders can also provide Ore as a secondary drop, alongside Stone or Paldium Fragments, according to Game8. Treat this as an extra chance rather than your primary Ore plan.
Build an automatic Ore base on natural nodes
A resource base works by putting the Ore deposits inside the Palbox base radius and assigning Pals to mine them. The deposits remain the limiting resource: a location with more covered nodes offers more simultaneous work than a location with only one or two.
1. Select a workable node cluster
Look for several closely grouped deposits and enough flat ground for the Palbox, beds, a feed box, storage and unobstructed paths. Node density matters, but a theoretically rich spot is not useful if Pals cannot reach its buildable area.

2. Place the Palbox for coverage
Position the Palbox so every deposit you intend to farm is within the base boundary. Avoid placing structures directly on a node if that prevents the node from respawning; respawn behavior can vary with the current game version and world settings, so check the result in your own world.
3. Assign the right Mining Pals
Automatic mining of natural Ore nodes requires Mining Work Suitability level 2 or higher, as specified by the Palworld Wiki. Higher Mining suitability is generally preferable, but the exact output depends on work speed, traits, server settings, node coverage and pathing. Do not fill the same Pals’ schedules with too many competing jobs.
4. Put storage beside the work area
Place a chest or other storage close to the deposits and leave a clear route between the nodes, storage and the Palbox. A Mining Pal that cannot reach a container can leave Ore on the ground or stop working efficiently, so transport access is part of the farm rather than an afterthought.
5. Keep the crew operating
Add beds and a food source inside the base and assign or provide a Transporting Pal. Hunger, rest and long hauling routes can reduce the practical output even when the mining assignment itself is correct. Exact staffing ratios are layout- and version-dependent, so adjust them after observing where work is actually accumulating.

Ore Mining Site
The Ore Mining Site is a base structure that lets Mining-suitability Pals produce Ore continuously without depending on natural deposits. It must be placed inside a Palbox base area and needs enough open space for Pals to access it. Staff it with Mining Pals just as you would staff a natural-node operation.
Ore Mining Site II
Ore Mining Site II is the later structure in the same production line. It follows the same essential rules: keep it inside the Palbox area, provide clear Pal access, and assign Mining-suitability Pals. The structure does not remove the need for food, beds and sensible transport routes.

How to choose the best Ore-farming location
Judge a location on all five of these factors rather than node count alone:
- Node count and density: More nearby deposits create more simultaneous mining opportunities.
- Palbox coverage: Every natural node you want farmed must fall inside the base boundary.
- Terrain and pathing: Flat, buildable ground and unobstructed routes reduce stuck Pals and abandoned drops.
- Travel and safety: A nearby fast-travel statue and a defensible position make resupply and recovery easier.
- Other resources: Coal or another useful deposit nearby can make a mixed resource base more valuable.
One current Palworld.tools guide identifies an area near the Sealed Realm of the Guardian with 16 Ore nodes and a nearby fast-travel statue. That is a guide-reported count, not a guaranteed value for every version or world setting; verify the nodes and coordinates in your game before committing a base.
Make the farm more reliable
Separate jobs that interfere
Mining Pals can be pulled toward other available tasks. If Ore is the priority, limit competing work or use a dedicated resource base so the assigned crew spends more time at the deposits.

Shorten every route
Keep storage close to the mining area, maintain open approaches to the nodes and avoid decorative buildings that narrow paths. Transporters should be able to reach both the mined Ore and the storage container without climbing or taking a long detour.
Use output claims cautiously
There is no authoritative, version-controlled Ore-per-hour figure that applies to all Palworld worlds. Work speed, Pal traits, Mining suitability, node coverage, pathing and server settings can all change the result, so measure your own base over a representative play session instead of relying on a universal number.
Quick Recap
Troubleshoot a base that is not producing Ore
- Pals ignore the nodes: Confirm that each deposit is inside the Palbox boundary and that the assigned Pal has Mining Work Suitability level 2 or higher.
- Ore is mined but never reaches storage: Move storage closer, clear the route and make sure a Transporting Pal can access both locations.
- Production stops after a while: Check food, beds, sanity-related needs and whether the Mining Pals have been reassigned to another task.
- Nodes do not return: Make sure a building is not occupying the deposit and allow time for the normal respawn behavior of your current version and world settings.
- Pals get stuck: Rebuild cramped structures, widen paths and provide level ground around the Palbox, nodes and storage.
Which method should you use?
- Need Ore immediately: Mine a nearby node yourself.
- Need a modest ongoing supply: Have a Mining Pal work deposits while you remain nearby.
- Need a large renewable stockpile: Establish a second base on a dense cluster, cover the nodes with the Palbox and build the supporting logistics.
- Have access to the structure: Use an Ore Mining Site or Ore Mining Site II for continuous production inside a staffed base.
