How Strands clues and hints work

Find words on the letter board by dragging across adjacent letters or tapping them. The spangram describes the puzzle’s theme and touches two opposite edges of the board. Every three non-theme words you find earns a hint; a hint reveals letters from an uncompleted theme word, or their order if a hint is already active.

Because a new puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone, “today’s” Strands can refer to different dates depending on where you play. The answers above are specifically for Sunday, January 11, 2026, game #679.
