Feral Interactive’s Android port is GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition, not a new mobile-only sequel. It launched on December 17, 2024, and the U.S. Google Play listing reviewed on August 18, 2026 shows a $14.99 one-time purchase. The demanding part is hardware: you need Android 12 or newer and at least 15 GB of storage, with optional HD vehicle textures requiring about 18 GB of free space.
What happened to the Android GRID announcement?
The original announcement, reported on October 7, 2024, described another GRID game coming to Android. Feral later confirmed the launch date, and the release is now complete.
- October 7, 2024: Coverage identified Feral’s upcoming Android and iOS port. Phandroid reported the announcement.
- December 5, 2024: Feral announced the December launch and opened pre-registration or pre-order details.
- December 17, 2024: GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition released on Android and iOS. Feral’s launch announcement listed the regional launch prices.
- May 21, 2025: The Google Play listing recorded an update adding MediaTek Dimensity 9200 support and fixing minor issues.
It is an adaptation of the existing Codemasters and Electronic Arts release. Feral Interactive develops and publishes the Android version; it is not a separate sequel to Feral’s earlier mobile port of GRID Autosport.
What is included in the Deluxe Edition?
Feral and Google Play market the mobile release as a complete package with the desktop game’s associated DLC included. The listing specifically advertises:

That is a claim about the mobile package’s advertised content, not proof that every PC or console feature is identical on Android.
How does it play on a phone or tablet?
Three control options
The Android version supports touchscreen controls, tilt or gyro steering, and physical gamepads. A Bluetooth or USB-C controller is therefore an option for players who prefer traditional racing controls, although support for every individual controller model is not guaranteed.

Online multiplayer is not clearly advertised
Feral’s Android feature page and Google Play description emphasize career, story, race creation and time-trial-style activities. They do not clearly confirm an Android online multiplayer mode. Do not buy this version expecting that feature unless Feral publishes an explicit mobile statement.

The game is unusually demanding for a mobile racing title. Google Play lists these requirements:

Check compatibility before buying
Android version alone does not establish that the game will run well. Feral maintains a separate list of supported chipsets and tested devices at its GRID Legends Android compatibility page.
- Open the official Google Play page on the phone or tablet you intend to use.
- Confirm that Google Play reports the device as compatible.
- Verify Android 12 or newer in the device’s software information.
- Clear materially more than 15 GB before downloading; allow about 18 GB if you want HD Vehicle Textures.
- Cross-check the model against Feral’s compatibility list before paying.
Feral warns that Google Play can occasionally identify a device incorrectly. A purchase button is useful evidence, but it is not an absolute performance guarantee. Avoid unofficial APK mirrors or sideloads when a device is not supported.
Who should buy it?
It makes sense if you:
- Own a recent Android phone or tablet that appears on Feral’s compatibility list.
- Have the required storage available without deleting essential data.
- Want a premium racing game with a story, career progression, varied disciplines and race customization.
- Prefer buying a complete package rather than assembling DLC separately.
- Have a compatible gamepad or are comfortable with touch and tilt controls.
Consider waiting or skipping if you:
- Use a device below Android 12 or one with limited free storage.
- Are near the minimum hardware specification and cannot tolerate possible compatibility or performance issues.
- Specifically require confirmed online multiplayer, which the current mobile descriptions do not clearly promise.
Bottom line
GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition is already available on Android as Feral Interactive’s substantial premium port, priced at $14.99 in the U.S. listing reviewed. Its bundled DLC, story and career content, ten disciplines and controller support make it far more than a lightweight arcade racer. The deciding factors are practical: check Feral’s device list, use Android 12 or newer, and reserve considerably more than 15 GB of free storage before you buy.
