How Connections works
The New York Times game presents 16 words that must be sorted into four groups of four sharing a connection. Groups are assigned yellow, green, blue or purple difficulty bands, with yellow intended as easiest and purple as trickiest. The design deliberately allows words to appear to fit more than one category, so look for the group that accounts for all four entries rather than stopping at the first plausible link. NYT says its editors curate words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary.
Can you replay Connections #460?
Connections releases at midnight in the player’s local timezone and is available through the NYT Games app, the Connections website, nytimes.com/theathletic and the NYT News app. The NYT archive reaches back to June 12, 2023, but replay access is available to eligible Games and All Access subscribers.
