How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared theme. Each group is assigned a color: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest. Words can seem to fit more than one category, but the puzzle has one intended solution. Read the New York Times’ Connections overview for the game’s rules.
