Its reported power draw is around 70W, below the PCIe slot’s 75W limit, and it does not require an auxiliary PCIe power connector. Those traits can simplify an upgrade, but “for all PCs” is not a compatibility guarantee: your case, bracket, motherboard slot, clearance, airflow, power budget and monitor connections still have to match.
What ASUS announced
ASUS positions the GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK as a “low-profile, compact graphics card that enables multi-monitor productivity.” The board occupies two slots and uses a half-height form factor intended for compatible small-form-factor and OEM desktops.
AnandTech reported the ASUS model on March 15, 2024, as part of NVIDIA’s low-power GeForce RTX 3050 6GB configuration. That report describes a sub-75W board aimed at systems that cannot accommodate a conventional full-height graphics card.

#1 Best Overall
- Chipset: GeForce RTX 3050
- Boost Clock / Memory: 1492 MHz / 14 Gbps
- Video Memory: 6GB GDDR6
- Memory Interface: 96-bit
- Output: DisplayPort x 1 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.1a x 2
Why the low-profile design matters
Half-height compatibility
A low-profile card can fit cases that reject a standard-height bracket, including many office desktops and small OEM towers. The case must provide a half-height bracket position and enough room for the card’s two-slot cooler and board length. ASUS’s broad product description does not establish universal dimensions.
No extra power lead in the reported configuration
At around 70W, the 6GB configuration was reported to stay below 75W and to draw power through the motherboard slot. That can help systems whose power supplies lack spare PCIe leads, but the motherboard, power supply and thermal design still need to support the upgrade.

- NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
- 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
- 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.
- OC Mode : 1500 MHz (Boost Clock)/Default Mode : 1470 MHz (Boost Clock)
Mixed-generation monitor support
The reported DVI-D, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a outputs can suit a desk that combines an older DVI monitor with newer HDMI or DisplayPort screens. Actual multi-monitor combinations, resolutions, refresh rates and adapter requirements depend on the monitors and the exact board revision.
RTX 3050 6GB versus the full 8GB RTX 3050
This is not the same product as the 8GB RTX 3050. AnandTech’s launch comparison lists a narrower memory bus and lower theoretical FP32 throughput for the 6GB version.

The 6GB model’s main advantage is system compatibility, not a promise of performance equal to an 8GB card. Choose based on the space and power limits of the target PC as well as the games or applications you intend to run.
Will it fit your PC?
Use this checklist before buying the ASUS card:
- Case: Confirm that the chassis accepts a half-height graphics card and has a two-slot opening.
- Clearance: Measure available card length, width and space around the cooler; ASUS’s inspected product text does not state exact dimensions.
- Motherboard: Check for a compatible PCIe graphics slot and ensure neighboring slots or internal components will not obstruct the cooler.
- Power: Confirm the current SKU’s power requirement and connector policy. Do not assume every RTX 3050 board has the same arrangement.
- Airflow: Small cases can have restricted ventilation. Make sure the card’s exhaust path is not blocked.
- Bracket: Verify that a low-profile or half-height bracket is included or otherwise available for your installation.
- Displays: Match the card’s available DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs to your monitors, including any active adapter needs.
- Software: Check NVIDIA driver support for your operating system and the applications you plan to use.
Who should consider it?
Good candidates
- OEM desktops with a half-height expansion area.
- Compact PCs whose power supplies cannot provide an auxiliary GPU cable.
- Users replacing integrated graphics for entry-level gaming, GPU-accelerated applications or additional displays.
- Workstations that need a DVI output alongside HDMI and DisplayPort.
Look elsewhere when
- Your case only accepts full-height cards or has less than two-slot clearance.
- You need high-end gaming performance or the largest available VRAM capacity.
- Your workload is known to exceed the practical limits of a 6GB, 96-bit entry-level configuration.
- You require a specific connector or monitor mode that the card does not provide.
Price and availability
AnandTech’s report mentioned an MSI low-profile competitor at a launch price of $185, but that was historical context from 2024, not a current ASUS price. ASUS states that regional availability varies and specifications may change. Check the current ASUS listing and local retailer stock before purchasing, and compare the exact model number rather than relying on the RTX 3050 name alone.

Bottom line
The ASUS GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB is notable for combining a low-profile, two-slot design with a reported sub-75W power target and a versatile DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort output mix. It is a practical candidate for compatible compact and OEM desktops, but it is not a universal drop-in upgrade and should not be treated as an 8GB RTX 3050 or a high-end gaming card. Measure the PC, verify the current SKU and confirm your display requirements before ordering.
