No supported, documented method exists to install macOS on a retail Xbox Series X. Apple’s documented macOS installation and virtual-machine routes require a compatible Mac hardware model and configuration; Microsoft’s Xbox documentation covers console software and app development, not replacing the console’s operating system with macOS.
Why a macOS installer is not enough
macOS is not a general-purpose operating system that can be installed on any device with a suitable processor. Apple’s virtual-machine instructions describe obtaining a macOS restore image and configuring a compatible virtual Mac, including a VZMacOSBootLoader, hardware model, auxiliary storage, and machine identifier. They do not document an Xbox Series X as a supported host or target.
Apple also states in its external startup disk instructions that “This macOS installation will be specific to your Mac model.” An installer on a USB drive or external disk therefore does not provide a general way to boot macOS on an Xbox.
Xbox Developer Mode does not install another operating system
Microsoft’s UWP FAQ describes Xbox retail and developer modes in the context of deploying apps. It is focused on Xbox One, so its procedures should not be treated as guaranteed Series X instructions. In any case, the material describes an app-development workflow, not replacing the console operating system with macOS.

What the evidence does—and does not—establish
The practical answer for Xbox Series X owners is no: the reviewed Apple and Microsoft documentation provides no supported macOS installation route. That is different from proving that every conceivable unofficial modification or experiment is physically impossible. The cited documentation does not assess every unofficial attempt, so claims that macOS has never been experimentally run on an Xbox would go beyond what it establishes.
