Waze and Blizzard launched a World of Warcraft driving experience on September 30, 2024, with Warchief Thrall providing turn-by-turn voice directions. The launch version included Horde and Alliance moods and a Red Drake vehicle theme. Whether you can still select it depends on what appears in your Waze app: a 2026 Google/Waze post refers to Thrall as an earlier activation, but does not confirm current availability in every country.
How to get Thrall’s voice on Waze
At launch, Google/Waze instructed users to update the Waze app and look for the World of Warcraft banner in the app menu. If that banner or experience is still offered in your region, use it to activate the pack and choose its available options.
- Update Waze to the latest version available for your device.
- Open Waze and check the app menu for the World of Warcraft banner.
- If the experience is listed, open it and select the Thrall navigation option and any available mood or vehicle theme.
If the banner is absent, the launch instructions do not establish another way to enable Thrall; availability may vary by region and over time.
What came with the World of Warcraft driving experience?
Thrall served as the navigation voice, delivering turn-by-turn guidance with character-themed lines. Google/Waze’s launch announcement quoted him saying, “breathe — this is not the end of the world.” For a U-turn, it offered the line, “a clever strategy to fool any pursuers on our tail.” These are promotional lines from the announcement; it did not identify a voice actor.
- Horde and Alliance moods: Players could choose between two themed moods.
- Red Drake vehicle theme: The experience included a Red Drake vehicle option.
- English voice navigation: The launch announcement specified English for Thrall’s navigation voice.
Is Thrall still available in Waze?
It is not possible to conclude from the available announcements that Thrall remains selectable everywhere today. The September 30, 2024 launch post described the experience as globally available, but Wowhead reported that the pack was available in the United States and might be restricted in other regions. In February 2026, Google/Waze described the “heroic and noble Thrall experience” as an earlier World of Warcraft activation while introducing Xal’atath; that reference confirms the collaboration existed, not that Thrall is currently available in every market.
