Fisch’s permanent Mariana’s Veil expansion adds five rods: the Volcanic Rod, Challenger’s Rod, Rod of the Zenith, Ethereal Prism Rod, and Leviathan’s Fang Rod. The first two appear during the opening layer upgrades, Rod of the Zenith is bought in Abyssal Zenith, Ethereal Prism Rod is unlocked through the Veil of the Forsaken bestiary, and Leviathan’s Fang Rod is tied to the fifth layer.

Rod of the Zenith: stats, cost and Wrath passive
Rod of the Zenith requires level 150 and costs C$1,500,000. Its documented stats are:
- Lure speed: 80%
- Luck: 145%
- Control: −0.1
- Resilience: 12%
- Maximum catch weight: 250,000 kg
Its passive has a 70% chance to apply the Wrath mutation, which is listed as a 4.5× mutation. The rod’s lower price and strong luck make it the more attainable of the two fully documented endgame options, although its negative control is a meaningful handling trade-off.

Ethereal Prism Rod: stats, cost and Prismize passive
Ethereal Prism Rod requires level 250 and costs C$3,500,000. Its documented stats are:
- Lure speed: 95%
- Luck: 195%
- Control: 0.25
- Resilience: 40%
- Maximum catch weight: 250,000 kg
The passive gives caught fish a 50% chance to receive Prismize, a listed 5× mutation. Its higher lure speed, luck, control and resilience make it the stronger statistical target, but both the level requirement and C$3.5 million price put it firmly in late-game progression.

What is documented—and what is not
Current pages identify the Volcanic Rod, Challenger’s Rod and Leviathan’s Fang Rod and place them in their respective Mariana’s Veil layers, but the available 2026 references do not provide complete stat blocks for those three rods. Exact lure speed, luck, control, resilience, maximum weight, costs, level requirements and passives should therefore be checked against the live game or a current rod page before you spend resources.
How Mariana’s Veil progression gates the rods
Start with Dr. Glimmerfin’s submarine quest
Mariana’s Veil progression begins with Dr. Glimmerfin’s submarine quest. Advancing through the expansion requires submarine and diving-suit upgrades for the first three layers, which is why the Volcanic and Challenger’s rods are encountered before the deeper endgame purchases.

Reach the Calm Zone route
The route toward the Calm Zone uses the Magma Leviathan, Frozen Leviathan and Crowned Anglerfish to open the gate. Puzzles and the Scylla encounter follow that gate sequence.
Complete the Veil of the Forsaken bestiary
Completion of the Veil of the Forsaken bestiary is the final requirement described for buying Ethereal Prism Rod in the Calm Zone. This makes it a collection and progression milestone, not an early upgrade.

Which rod should you aim for first?
If you are entering Mariana’s Veil
Follow the layer progression and take the Volcanic Rod first, then the Challenger’s Rod. Their access is tied to the heat and ice upgrade paths rather than an optional endgame purchase.
If you can afford the third-layer purchase
Rod of the Zenith is the clearly documented intermediate objective: level 150, C$1.5 million, 145% luck and a 70% Wrath trigger. It is the practical target before the bestiary-gated Prism rod.

If you are finishing the expansion
Target Ethereal Prism Rod after completing the Veil of the Forsaken bestiary if you meet level 250 and have C$3.5 million. Its 95% lure speed, 195% luck, 0.25 control, 40% resilience and 50% Prismize chance give it the most complete documented stat package among these rods.
If your goal is the fifth-layer endgame
Leviathan’s Fang Rod belongs to the Veil of the Forsaken endgame route. The available references confirm its association and location but not a complete current specification, so do not choose it on assumed numbers.
