Use Google Play Games on PC. It is Google’s official Windows client for a curated catalog of Android games and avoids installing BlueStacks-style third-party emulators. It still relies on Windows virtualization, does not run every Android game or APK, and requires you to check each title’s compatibility badge before installing.
Google lists support for Windows 10 version 2004 and later and Windows 11. The client is free, although individual games and in-game purchases may cost money. See the official Google Play Games page.
What “without an emulator” means
There are four different meanings behind this phrase:
- No third-party emulator: Google Play Games on PC is the best official option for supported games.
- No Android runtime or virtualization at all: There is no general official way to run arbitrary Android games directly in Windows. Google Play Games may require Windows Hypervisor Platform and CPU virtualization.
- No game installed on the PC: Microsoft Phone Link can mirror a supported game from your Android phone while the phone runs it.
- No Android software: Use an official Windows edition or a cloud-streamed PC/console equivalent, if one exists.
Google Play Games is a game catalog, not a replacement for the full Google Play Store. It does not promise arbitrary APK sideloading.

Choose the right method

Check your Windows PC before installing
Google’s listed service requirements are:
- Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or Windows 11.
- At least 10 GB of free space on an SSD.
- 8 GB of RAM.
- A processor with at least four physical CPU cores.
- Intel UHD Graphics 630 or comparable graphics hardware.
- A Windows administrator account.
- Hardware virtualization enabled in UEFI/BIOS.
- A supported Google Play country or region and a personal Google Account.
These figures establish eligibility, not guaranteed frame rates. A demanding game can need more graphics or processor performance. Google lists the United States among supported regions, while catalog availability varies by country. Check the current requirements at Google’s support page.
Check whether your game is supported
Search for the exact title inside Google Play Games on PC instead of assuming that its Android release will work. Google uses five labels:

| Playable | Google tested it as stable, observed at least 30 frames per second, and confirmed mouse and/or keyboard support. |
| Untested | It may work, but Google has not tested it on PC. |
| Unsupported | Google found technical problems; crashes, sign-in failures or poor performance are possible. |
| Not available | The game is unavailable for Google Play Games on PC or for your computer. |

Install Google Play Games on Windows 10 or 11
- Open Google’s official Google Play Games page and select Download.
- Open the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If setup asks for it, enable Windows Hypervisor Platform.
- If required, enter your UEFI/BIOS settings and enable CPU virtualization. The setting may be named Intel VT-x, Intel Virtualization Technology, AMD-V or SVM, depending on the motherboard.
- Restart Windows when prompted.
- Launch Google Play Games on PC and sign in with a personal Google Account.
- Search for your game, inspect its badge, and select Install only if the result meets your expectations.
- Start the game, then adjust its graphics, input and account settings.

Use the same progress on your phone and PC
Sign in with the same Google Account on mobile and PC, but do not assume that every save will transfer. Three separate systems can be involved:
- Your Google Play Games profile.
- The game’s own cross-device save support.
- A separate publisher account, such as an account created by the developer.
Before deleting or resetting the mobile version, verify that the game shows the expected progress on PC. If it does not, check the same Google Account, sign in to the same publisher account, confirm that cross-device syncing is supported, and follow the developer’s cloud-save instructions.

Fix common problems
Installer says a requirement is missing
- Read the installer’s exact message.
- Confirm your Windows version and SSD space.
- Verify that your account has administrator privileges.
- Enable Windows Hypervisor Platform if requested.
- Enable CPU virtualization in UEFI/BIOS.
- Restart Windows and run the installer again.
- If it still fails, remove Google Play Games from Settings > Apps > Apps & features, restart, and reinstall.
Another emulator stopped working
Google warns that enabling Windows Hypervisor Platform can prevent some other emulators from working. Identify that conflict before changing virtualization settings. Switching configurations may require a restart; do not disable Windows security or virtualization features as a blanket fix.
The game appears but will not launch
Check whether it is marked Unsupported or Untested. A recent game update can leave a badge behind, and failures can also come from publisher-account requirements, mobile-only sensors, GPS, touch gestures or services unavailable on PC.
Keyboard or mouse controls feel wrong
Playable means Google confirmed mouse and/or keyboard support, not that every control is perfectly mapped. Check the game’s control menu, try a supported gamepad when appropriate, and prefer an Optimized title for the best desktop input experience.

Performance is poor
- Close unnecessary background applications.
- Install the game on the SSD.
- Update Windows and graphics drivers.
- Lower in-game graphics settings.
- Recheck the title’s badge; minimum specifications do not guarantee a particular frame rate.
Use Phone Link when the game can stay on your phone
Phone Link is a genuine non-emulator alternative only if you already own a compatible Android phone. Microsoft mirrors supported apps from the phone; the game is not installed on Windows and continues running on the handset. Requirements for the multiple-apps experience include Windows 10 May 2020 Update or later, Android 11 or later, at least 8 GB RAM recommended, compatible Link to Windows and Phone Link versions, and a supported device. Some features are limited to selected Samsung or HONOR phones.
- Open or install Phone Link in Windows.
- Link the Android phone using Link to Windows.
- In Windows, open Phone Link > Apps.
- Select the game and interact with it through the mirrored window.
See Microsoft’s requirements at Use apps from your Android device on your PC. This method is a poor fit for low-latency games or titles that depend heavily on touch, gyroscope or GPS.

Official Windows edition
Search the publisher’s website and the Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic Games Store or GOG. A PC edition usually offers better desktop controls and Windows graphics settings, but it may be a separate product and may not share mobile purchases or saves.

PC Game Pass or cloud gaming
These services can provide an equivalent Windows or console game, not the Android build. PC Game Pass downloads Windows games through the Xbox app. Xbox Cloud Gaming streams supported games to a compatible device. Availability, plans, prices, regions and catalogs change; consult Microsoft’s Windows PC gaming overview and Game Pass comparison.
Conventional Android emulators
Use one only if the title is absent from Google Play Games and you accept the trade-off. Emulators generally provide wider app and APK support, key mapping, multi-instance tools and sideloading, but they are precisely the software this method is intended to avoid.
Do not follow obsolete Windows Subsystem for Android guides
Windows Subsystem for Android and the Amazon Appstore stopped being available in the Microsoft Store on March 5, 2025. Do not treat enabling WSA from the Store as a current Windows 11 solution. Microsoft’s notice is at Install mobile apps and the Amazon Appstore on Windows.
