Short answer: GTA 6 has no officially announced PC version. Rockstar currently lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date. Xbox Cloud Gaming is the only plausible way to stream the Xbox version to a PC without owning a console, but Rockstar and Microsoft have not confirmed that the game will be cloud-playable.
What platforms are confirmed for GTA 6?
Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page and its platform and editions support page list only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Microsoft’s official listing gives the release date as November 19, 2026.
- PlayStation 5: confirmed
- Xbox Series X|S: confirmed
- Windows PC: not announced
- PS4 and Xbox One: not listed
“No PC version has been announced” is the accurate wording. It does not mean Rockstar will never release one. Rockstar has historically launched major games on consoles before PC, but that pattern does not establish a PC date or guarantee that a port is in development. Current industry comments also leave PC timing unconfirmed; see PC Gamer’s release-date analysis and its report on Take-Two’s comments about PC players (PC Gamer).
Could Xbox Cloud Gaming provide a PC workaround?
Possibly, but it is not confirmed. Xbox Cloud Gaming streams an Xbox game running on Microsoft’s servers, so it does not require a native Windows build. If Microsoft enables GTA 6 for cloud play, a PC user could potentially stream the Xbox Series X|S version through a supported browser or Xbox app.

- Vertical Stand sold seperately
That depends on more than buying the game. Microsoft and Rockstar must enable the title for cloud streaming, and access may depend on the user’s plan, country, device and whether the game is included in a subscription or sold separately. Xbox says selected purchased games can be streamed, but only when they are cloud-playable. Its cloud-gaming requirements page also notes that availability varies by title, plan, platform, region and time.
What the current Xbox listing proves—and does not prove
The US Xbox product page currently identifies GTA 6 as an Xbox Series X|S game with single-player support and Xbox cloud saves. Cloud saves synchronize progress between supported devices; they do not mean the game can be launched from a browser or streamed from Microsoft’s servers. The listing does not currently show the normal confirmation of cloud-play support.

What you may need if cloud support is added
- Check that GTA 6 appears in the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog.
- Confirm whether it is included with an eligible Game Pass plan or must be purchased separately.
- Check cloud availability in your country and on your chosen device.
- Use a compatible controller and a stable connection. Xbox’s guidance is at least 10 Mbps on mobile devices and about 20 Mbps on PCs, consoles and tablets, with 5 GHz Wi-Fi recommended. Those figures are service guidance, not a performance guarantee for a demanding open-world game.
Do not assume that an Xbox purchase automatically grants cloud access. The US Xbox listing showed the Standard Edition at $79.99+ and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99+ when reviewed in August 2026. Those are game prices, not the total cost of a subscription, internet service or hardware, and store prices can change.
How the different streaming options compare
| Method | Own a console? | Native PC version needed? | Situation for GTA 6 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | No, if supported | No | Potential day-one PC route, but unconfirmed |
| Xbox Remote Play | Yes, Xbox Series X|S | No | Streams from your own console |
| PlayStation Remote Play | Yes, PS5 | No | Possible personal-console option if the final setup supports it |
| GeForce NOW | No console required | Yes | Future possibility only, after a PC release |
| Virtual gaming PC | No console required | Yes | Future possibility only, subject to hardware, launcher and DRM compatibility |
| Local PS5 or Xbox play | Yes | No | Most certain launch access |
Why GeForce NOW is not a solution today
GeForce NOW streams supported PC games linked through stores such as Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect. It does not convert an Xbox purchase into a PC entitlement or stream the Xbox console build. A future PC version would still need to be supported by NVIDIA’s service and the relevant storefront.

- 🚀 Storage: Custom 825GB SSD
- 🚀 RAM: 16GB GDDR6
- 🚀 GPU: 10.3 teraflop RDNA 2 GPU
The same limitation applies to Shadow-style virtual gaming PCs. A rented Windows machine could potentially run a native PC build later, but it cannot solve the absence of that build today. Rockstar’s launcher, DRM, system requirements and the service’s policies would all need to be compatible.
What cloud play may feel like
- Input delay varies with your network route, Wi-Fi, device and server location.
- Image quality and resolution can be less stable than local play.
- Major launches can bring queues or reduced availability.
- Mods, graphics settings, local files and some overlays or accessories are generally unavailable or limited.
- Long sessions can consume substantial data, which matters if your connection has a cap.
- Cloud availability can differ by country, plan and device.
Xbox explicitly warns that streamed games can have limitations involving resolution, audio, saves, companion apps and accessories. A fast connection improves the odds of a good session but cannot guarantee console-like latency.

- Enjoy smooth and fluid high frame rate gameplay at up to 120 fps for compatible games, with support for 120Hz output on 4K displays.
- PS5 consoles support an 8K output, so you can play games on your 4320p resolution display.
- Maximize your play sessions with near-instant load times for installed PS5 games.
- 825GB SSD allows ultra-fast load times, while 3-D audio output produces crisp acoustics.
- Explore uncharted virtual territories and slay dragons with this sleek Sony PlayStation 5 gaming console.
If cloud support never arrives
- For guaranteed launch access: play locally on a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
- For the cheapest confirmed Xbox route: consider Xbox Series S, while waiting for Rockstar to publish the final performance details.
- For existing console owners: use local play or Remote Play from your own Xbox or PS5, where supported. Remote Play requires the console, game and account; it is not hardware-free cloud gaming.
- For PC-only players: wait for an official PC announcement rather than buying GeForce NOW, a virtual gaming PC or an Xbox copy on the assumption that streaming will work.
A console purchase is the least ambiguous choice because PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are the only confirmed launch platforms. Buying hardware solely for cloud access makes sense only after Microsoft publishes explicit cloud-play support.

You already own an Xbox
Local play or Xbox Remote Play avoids dependence on the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog. You still need the console, the game and a network capable of Remote Play.
Your PC is too weak for a future port
GeForce NOW or a virtual gaming PC may become useful after Rockstar releases a Windows version. Neither is a current GTA 6 solution.
You want to avoid unnecessary spending
Do not treat the Xbox listing’s cloud-save label, an Xbox purchase or a Game Pass subscription as proof of streaming access. Recheck the Xbox cloud catalog and the service terms immediately before launch.
Bottom line
Confirmed: GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, with no announced PC version. Possible: Xbox Cloud Gaming could stream the Xbox build to a PC without a native Windows release, but Microsoft and Rockstar have not confirmed that option. Not viable today: GeForce NOW and virtual gaming PCs, because both require a supported PC version.
