Borderlands 4 has seven Abandoned Auger Mines. They become accessible after you complete Main Mission 11, Shadow of the Mountain. Each mine is a compact combat-and-platforming dungeon ending in a named boss; the first clear awards 40 SDU Tokens, and the boss can be revisited for repeat loot.
How to unlock the Abandoned Auger Mines
Complete Main Mission 11, Shadow of the Mountain. Before that point, mine entrances are blocked by a locked wall marked with a red sigil. After the mission, the same entrances use a shimmering, false-looking wall that you can walk through.
Every mine counts as complete only when its final boss is defeated. Clearing all seven contributes to the Ruler of Everything trophy or achievement.

1. Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening
Fast-travel to Abandoned Post Safehouse in Coastal Bonescape. Search the cave by the small pond to the north or north-east. Inside, walk through the shimmering wall to reach the mine.

2. The Claim
Start at Zadra’s Backup Plan. Use the western cave exit, then follow the route north until you reach the entrance in Dissected Plateau.
3. Embossed Fault (The Pigeonhole)
In Grindstone of the Worthy, travel to the Rustical Hurl Order Silo and look for the cave directly south of it. If your map says The Pigeonhole, it is this same mine.

4. Trinket Crevass
Leave Moxxi’s Bottoms Up heading north. Pass the Society for Amateur Seismology Enthusiasts location, turn north-east, and descend into the lower area to find the entrance.
5. Whistler’s Maw
Fast-travel to The Reliquary Order Silo in Cuspid Climb. Go north toward Dead Bolt, then enter the nearby cave.

6. Bittervein
From Snowy Wells Safehouse, travel north through Stoneblood Forest. Continue to the region’s northernmost tip, where the mine entrance is located.
7. The Toil of Spoiling Vis
In Carcadia District/Dominion, use The Lockaway Safehouse as your reference point. Look for the doorway in the north-western wall. An alternative map description places it about 200 metres south-east of the activity icon and slightly south-west of the safehouse; use whichever landmark matches your map.

What you get for clearing a mine
First-clear reward
The first completion of each Abandoned Auger Mine grants 40 SDU Tokens. Because there are seven mines, completing the full set yields 280 SDU Tokens from first clears.
Repeat boss farming
After a mine is cleared, its boss can be fought again for repeat drops. Players use these encounters to farm legendary and other targeted loot; the 40-token reward is the first-clear payout, not a guaranteed reward for every replay.
