Pokémon Legends: Z-A has 18 officially documented new Mega-Evolution forms, counting forms announced for the base game and the Mega Dimension expansion. They include Mega Victreebel, Mega Hawlucha, Mega Malamar, Mega Dragonite, the Kalos starters, both Mega Raichu forms, Mega Mewtwo X and Y, and Mega Garchomp Z.
A March 2025 video claimed that 27 Mega Evolutions had leaked, but that is an unofficial creator claim with no attributable primary leak archive. Only the 18 forms named in official Pokémon or Nintendo announcements should be treated as confirmed.

How to obtain the confirmed Mega Stones and encounters
Z-A Battle Club Ranked Battle rewards
Ranked promotion rewards provide Greninjite in Season 1, Delphoxite in Season 2 and Chesnaughtite in Season 3. The same promotion-reward system is also used for Baxcalibrite and the stones associated with Mega Sceptile, Mega Swampert and Mega Blaziken. These rewards require online ranked play rather than a standard item pickup in the story.
Mystery Gift and follow-up missions
Mega Diancie requires Diancite through Mystery Gift, followed by the “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” side mission and the Diancie encounter. Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y became claimable through Mystery Gift from December 2, 2025; completing Mewtwo’s extra side mission is then required before using either stone.

Mega Dimension conditions
Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are encountered by meeting specific conditions in Mega Dimension. The announcement does not spell out those conditions in the supplied material, so an exact step-by-step trigger should not be assumed.
Hyperspace distortion
Mega Garchomp Z is obtained by defeating it in its special hyperspace distortion. That encounter awards Garchompite Z, and the resulting Mega form is Dragon type only rather than Dragon/Ground.

What the “27 leaked Mega Evolutions” claim actually means
A March 2025 YouTube video claimed that 27 new Mega Evolutions had leaked and that it knew the complete list. The video is not a Pokémon, Nintendo or Game Freak announcement, and no attributable primary leak archive has been identified for the claim.
Consequently, names that appear only in that video or in reposts remain unverified leaks or speculation. They should not be added to the confirmed roster, and the claim should not be reported as proof that all 27 forms exist.
Quick Recap
What is firmly established
- The official roster documented to date contains 18 new forms connected to Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Mega Dimension.
- Mega Dimension supplies a second wave that includes both Raichu forms, both Mewtwo forms, Diancie, the Hoenn starters and Mega Garchomp Z.
- Access is divided among ranked promotion rewards, Mystery Gift claims, side missions and expansion encounters; there is no single unlock method for every form.
- Mega Garchomp Z is a notable mechanical change because it is pure Dragon type.
