Make the Impostor the subject

- Choose a template. Select Ghost or Crewmate for a first pumpkin; move to Impostor or Seeker when you are comfortable with tighter details.
- Print at the correct size. Print the pattern on letter or A4 paper without scaling it so far that thin sections become impractical for your pumpkin.
- Prepare the pumpkin. Cut an opening, remove the seeds and scrape out loose pulp with the scoop. A smoother interior makes the light more even and keeps scraps from blocking the design.
- Secure the stencil. Tape the printed template to the pumpkin, positioning the main visor and body on the broadest, smoothest area.
- Transfer the outline. Trace or perforate the stencil so the cutting lines remain visible after you remove the paper. Mark solid areas and openings clearly before picking up the saw.
- Cut slowly. Use a pumpkin-carving kit with a small saw, scoop and detail tool, or a suitable drill bit for repeated holes. Make controlled cuts rather than forcing the blade through thick sections.
- Clean the openings. Remove membrane and scraps from the visor, vents and other cutouts. Check that bridges between details remain attached.
- Light it safely. Use an LED light inside the pumpkin to illuminate the silhouette without placing an exposed flame next to the cut edges.

For a group project
Give each person a different role: one pumpkin for a Crewmate, one for an Impostor, one for a vent and one for an emergency meeting. The collection can tell a story when arranged together, while each individual pumpkin stays manageable.
For a playful custom design
Borrow the fan-gallery approach: add a Mini Crewmate, a banana, a watermelon surface or a futuristic variation. Keep the visor and body proportions prominent so the joke does not erase the source design.
Safety before you start
Innersloth’s warning is direct: “Just like when wielding an Impostor knife, please be careful when carving your pumpkin. If you’re a Mini Crewmate ask an adult for help!” Children should have an adult handle the saw, drill or any difficult cut. Keep the pumpkin stable on a flat surface, cut away from your supporting hand and follow the instructions for the specific tools in your kit. An LED light is the safer choice for display.
