Gigabyte’s GIGABYTE GO27Q24G is a 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) WOLED gaming monitor running at up to 240Hz. Its headline 1300-nit HDR figure applies only to a small 1.5% average-picture-level highlight, not sustained full-screen brightness. The monitor also includes Gigabyte’s AI OLED Care protection suite, while the U.S. specification page lists a three-year warranty including panel burn-in.
What Gigabyte launched
The GO27Q24G is a four-sided-borderless, 16:9 WOLED display aimed primarily at competitive PC gaming. Gigabyte describes it as a QHD 240Hz monitor with a glossy, anti-reflection surface. “2K” is informal retail terminology; the useful technical description is QHD/1440p at 2560×1440. At 27 inches, that resolution balances image sharpness with the GPU performance needed for high frame rates. Gigabyte lists a 0.2292 mm pixel pitch.

What the 1300-nit HDR claim really means
Gigabyte specifies 1300 cd/m² typical HDR brightness at a 1.5% average picture level (APL). A 1.5% APL test shows a very small bright highlight against an otherwise dark image—such as a glint, explosion or bright light. It does not mean the entire 27-inch panel can sustain 1300 nits, and it is not a DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
The same specification lists 275 cd/m² typical SDR brightness measured at 100% APL, while certification is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. Large white HDR scenes will therefore be substantially dimmer than the tiny-window peak. Gigabyte’s HyperNits modes are intended to raise overall HDR impact while preserving highlight detail: Peak 1300 is joined by High and Medium settings for different room conditions. Actual HDR results also depend on Windows calibration, the game’s HDR implementation, the selected monitor mode and tone mapping.

Gaming performance and connectivity
240Hz at QHD
A 240Hz panel can show a new frame every 4.17 milliseconds, but your system must render close to 240 frames per second to use it fully. Competitive shooters are the most likely to reach that range; demanding cinematic games may benefit more from OLED contrast and HDR than from the difference between 165Hz and 240Hz. The advertised 0.03ms GTG is a manufacturer rating, not independent input-lag or response-time testing.
Ports and source limits
DisplayPort 1.4 is the principal PC connection, while two HDMI 2.1 ports suit compatible PCs and consoles. HDMI 2.1 on the monitor does not guarantee 1440p/240Hz from every console or graphics card: the source, cable, operating system, colour mode and any display-stream-compression support determine the available modes. USB-C provides video/input connectivity and 5V/3A power according to the manual, not a laptop dock or high-power charging solution.

AI OLED Care and burn-in risk
Gigabyte’s AI OLED Care is an algorithm-based collection of controls designed to reduce image-retention and burn-in risk. It is mitigation, not immunity: static taskbars, browser controls, news tickers and game HUDs can still stress OLED pixels during repeated long-duration use.
Controls in the monitor menu
- Pixel Clean: runs pixel compensation. Gigabyte recommends starting it after more than four hours of use; allow the cycle to finish rather than repeatedly cutting power.
- Pixel Shift: moves the image by small pixel increments.
- APL Stabilize: adjusts brightness to stabilise average picture level.
- Sub-Logo Dim: lowers brightness around static taskbars and logos.
- Corner Dim: reduces brightness in the four corners.
- Brightness Control: balances brightness across screen areas.
- Tone Control: optimises brightness over time to reduce ageing and extend panel life.
- Status: reports usage time and Pixel Clean execution status.
To reduce exposure, enable taskbar auto-hide, use a screen saver, vary static content and let compensation routines run when prompted. Temporary image retention can clear after compensation; permanent burn-in is physical panel wear and is a different issue.

Warranty qualification
Gigabyte’s U.S. product specification lists a three-year warranty including panel burn-in. Check your country’s Gigabyte policy before buying: proof of purchase, registration, exclusions for misuse or commercial use, and whether the remedy is repair, replacement or an equivalent product can differ. A retailer’s return period may also be shorter than the manufacturer warranty.
Who should buy the GO27Q24G?
Good match
- Competitive PC players with a GPU capable of high QHD frame rates.
- Gamers who want OLED blacks, fast motion and a 27-inch format.
- Users who can control reflections from the glossy surface.
- Buyers who value HDMI 2.1 and the U.S.-listed burn-in coverage.
Consider another display
- Office-heavy users who leave static interfaces visible all day.
- People in bright rooms who prioritise sustained full-screen brightness.
- Anyone needing crisp 4K desktop text, integrated speakers, a USB hub, KVM or high-wattage USB-C charging.
- Esports specialists seeking 360Hz or 480Hz rather than 240Hz.
- Users sensitive to OLED VRR flicker, near-black uniformity variation or WOLED text fringing.
Trade-offs versus other monitor types
A 27-inch QHD 360Hz/480Hz OLED can suit players who value maximum refresh rate. A 4K OLED offers finer text and image detail but demands considerably more GPU performance. Mini LED models can deliver higher sustained brightness without OLED’s burn-in mechanism, although blooming and local-dimming behaviour remain possible. QD-OLED alternatives may differ in colour volume, subpixel rendering, coating and burn-in characteristics. These are category-level differences; model-specific pricing and performance require current independent testing.

Price and availability
A China launch report listed ¥2,599 retail pricing and a temporary ¥2,099 launch price (approximately $376 and $304 in that report). Those figures are regional launch signals, not a current U.S. price or an exchange-rate-adjusted recommendation. Check Gigabyte’s regional page and retailer listings for live stock and local warranty terms. A U.S. availability report is also available from Notebookcheck.
The Bottom Line
The GO27Q24G is a strong candidate for high-refresh 1440p gaming: it combines a 240Hz WOLED panel, OLED contrast, HDMI 2.1 and useful burn-in protection controls. Treat “up to 1300 nits” as a small-highlight HDR result at 1.5% APL, not full-screen brightness. Choose a different class of display if you need 4K productivity sharpness, high-power USB-C docking, very bright sustained HDR or the lowest possible static-content risk.
