- Gray: the letter does not appear in the answer.

When you need information
Use a guess that tests letters you have not tried yet. This can reveal more of the answer even if it does not preserve a confirmed placement.

When you have confirmed positions
Keep known green letters in place and use remaining slots to test plausible possibilities. The March 10 pattern is especially constrained by S at the start, L at the end, two vowels and no repeated letters.
Hard Mode
In Hard Mode, any green or yellow information you uncover must be used in later guesses. Standard play lets you choose an exploratory guess that ignores a confirmed placement, which can provide more information but risks using a turn without directly narrowing the answer.
