Its 7,300 MB/s maximum sequential read speed applies to the 1 TB and 2 TB versions; the 512 GB version is rated at up to 5,100 MB/s. Those are manufacturer figures from desktop testing, not a promise that games will load at a particular speed on a handheld.
Which IRDM PRO NANO capacity reaches 7,300 MB/s?
GOODRAM lists three capacities. The 7,300 MB/s sequential-read maximum belongs to the 1 TB and 2 TB models, not the 512 GB model. Maximum sequential write speeds and endurance ratings also vary by capacity.

GOODRAM bases these maximum speeds on CrystalDiskMark 8.0 tests of a fresh-out-of-box drive in a desktop system with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, AMD X570 motherboard and 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809. The company warns that actual results depend on the configuration and SSD wear. These sequential-transfer figures describe a particular benchmark; they do not translate directly into a guaranteed game-loading improvement.
Capacity is stated in decimal units by GOODRAM, so a device that reports storage in binary units may show a smaller number than the label. GOODRAM’s IRDM PRO NANO specifications and test notes are the reference for the listed figures.

Will it fit your gaming handheld?
The drive is M.2 2230 (M key) and uses a PCIe NVMe Gen 4 x4 interface. The physical size and interface both matter: a handheld must have a compatible M.2 slot and support the drive. Check the exact model and revision before buying rather than assuming every device called a Steam Deck or ROG Ally has the same upgrade requirements.
GOODRAM names the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally as compatible examples, describing the drive as working with those consoles. That is the manufacturer’s compatibility claim. GOODRAM also provides separate installation guides for the Steam Deck LCD and OLED; use the guide for the specific version being opened.

- Confirm that the device accepts an M.2 2230 drive.
- Confirm NVMe and interface compatibility for the exact handheld model and revision.
- Follow the model-specific installation instructions before opening the device.
GOODRAM’s product page links its Steam Deck installation guidance and product information. Check that page for the appropriate LCD or OLED guide and current specifications.
What handheld performance evidence is available?
GOODRAM published a test on 21 May 2024, modified on 27 May 2024, using a 1 TB IRDM PRO NANO in a 512 GB Steam Deck OLED. The company reports that ARK: Survival Evolved installation time changed from 20 minutes on the stock drive to 12.5 minutes with the PRO NANO. For Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, its reported times were 4.5 minutes on the stock drive and 4 minutes on the replacement.

These are vendor-reported results from GOODRAM’s setup, not independent benchmarks. They cover two game installations on one handheld configuration; they do not establish how much faster other games will load or install, or how the drive will perform in another device. GOODRAM lists a five-year limited warranty for each capacity, subject to the drive’s TBW limit: 300 TBW for 512 GB, 600 TBW for 1 TB and 1,200 TBW for 2 TB. The warranty ends after five years or when the applicable TBW limit is exceeded, whichever comes first. TBW means terabytes written and is an endurance rating, not a prediction of the drive’s exact lifespan in a particular handheld.
