Ubisoft’s Siege-specific BattlEye FAQ documents one historical exception: Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074, associated with BattlEye Driver Load Error 577. For current crashes, identify the exact error, verify Siege’s files, repair or reinstall Ubisoft Anti-Cheat, and check whether security software is blocking its executable—testing after each change.
First, identify what is actually failing
A game that closes immediately, freezes on launch, displays a BattlEye message, or never reaches the menu can have different causes. Record the Windows edition and build, whether it is an Insider Preview build, and whether you start Siege through Steam, Epic Games Launcher, or Ubisoft Connect PC. Ubisoft notes that technical issues can result from different causes, including outdated system versions and particular configurations.

Verify Rainbow Six Siege’s files
Damaged or missing game and dependency files can cause crashes or performance problems. Use the verification function in the launcher that owns your installation.
Steam
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the process to finish, then launch Siege again.
Epic Games Launcher
- Open Library and find Rainbow Six Siege.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the game.
- Choose Manage, then Verify.
- Start Siege after Epic completes the check.
Ubisoft Connect PC
- Open Games and select Rainbow Six Siege.
- Open the game’s properties or management menu.
- Choose Verify files (the label can vary with the current client version).
- Retest before changing another setting.
Repair or reinstall Ubisoft Anti-Cheat
Ubisoft’s current anti-cheat troubleshooting sequence says to test the issue after each step. If file verification does not resolve the launch failure, use the installer in Siege’s installation directory.

- Open the Rainbow Six Siege folder and then its Sentinel subfolder.
- Locate
UbisoftAntiCheatInstaller.exe. - Right-click the file and choose Run as administrator.
- Select Repair in the installer and allow it to complete.
- Restart the launcher and test Siege.
If repair fails, run the same installer again and choose the available Uninstall or Reinstall option, then launch the game so the anti-cheat component is installed again. Do not assume that legacy BattlEye behavior and the current Ubisoft Anti-Cheat installation are the same system; Ubisoft’s modern guide addresses Ubisoft Anti-Cheat, while the documented Preview-build case is from the older BattlEye FAQ.
Check whether Windows Security is blocking the anti-cheat executable
Security software can prevent an anti-cheat executable from starting. Ubisoft recommends adding the executable to Windows Security exclusions when blocking is the cause. This is a conditional check, not a reason to disable protection for every installation.

- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection, then Manage settings.
- Review Exclusions and choose Add or remove exclusions.
- Add the Ubisoft Anti-Cheat executable from the game’s Sentinel folder only if Windows Security has identified or quarantined it.
- Retest Siege. If the exclusion changes nothing, remove it and continue with Ubisoft’s support process.
Keep Windows Security and other protection enabled unless a support technician gives you a narrowly scoped, temporary diagnostic instruction. Restore any temporary change after testing.
What BattlEye Driver Load Error 577 means
Ubisoft’s historical BattlEye FAQ says Error 577 was most likely associated with stock Windows 10 Home or the pre-release Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074. Its instruction was to search for and install available Windows updates.

That reference concerns an early Windows 10 build and does not establish that current Windows Insider Preview releases are incompatible with Siege. If you see Error 577, record the exact Windows build and apply all available updates first. Do not use the old build-10074 diagnosis for a different Preview build without current, build-specific evidence.
If Siege still crashes after the official steps
At this point, avoid changing several variables at once. Note which launcher you use, the Windows edition and full build number, the exact error text, and whether the failure occurs before the menu or during a match. Then report the issue to Ubisoft with a reproducible description.

- Actual behavior and the first time it began.
- Whether file verification, anti-cheat repair or reinstall, and the security check changed the result.
- A workaround, if one exists.
- Useful screenshots or video showing the error and launch sequence.
Ubisoft’s support guidance asks for steps to reach the issue, expected behavior, reproduction steps, workarounds, and images or video where useful. A precise report is more actionable than simply saying that an Insider build caused the crash.

Not as a general rule established by Ubisoft’s available documentation. The only Siege-specific Preview reference identified here is Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074 in the historical BattlEye Error 577 FAQ. Current Preview-build compatibility is not established by that old entry, so troubleshoot the concrete failure—files, anti-cheat installation, security blocking, or a documented error—rather than treating Preview status as the diagnosis.
