Its top announced configuration uses a Core Ultra 7 155H, but MSI also documents Core Ultra 5 135H models. The Claw is a Windows handheld with a 7-inch 1080p, 120 Hz touchscreen; exact processor and storage depend on the regional SKU.
What is the MSI Claw?
The MSI Claw A1M is a Windows 11 handheld gaming PC announced at CES 2024. MSI’s launch announcement introduced it as the company’s first handheld powered by Intel Core Ultra. The device combines built-in controls with a touchscreen and PC connectivity, including Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C.
MSI’s stated specifications can vary by model and country, and the company says specifications, functions, and appearance may change. The numbers below describe MSI’s published product information, not independent testing. MSI’s January 9, 2024 announcement and its Claw A1M specification page provide the launch and product details.
What processor does the MSI Claw have?
It depends on the configuration. The top processor in MSI’s announcement is the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. MSI also lists Claw A1M models with the Core Ultra 5 135H, so “Core Ultra 7” does not describe every Claw.

What did MSI claim about gaming performance and battery life?
Gaming performance
MSI said the Intel Arc graphics have up to eight Xe cores and support XeSS, and advertised gameplay at 1080p resolution with medium settings. Those are MSI’s launch claims, not independent benchmark results. The cited material does not establish game-by-game frame rates or performance against other handhelds.
Cooling and battery
MSI says its Cooler Boost HyperFlow thermal design uses dual fans and heat pipes. In its CES announcement, MSI described the 53 Wh battery as offering “an impressive 2-hour battery life under full workload.” That is the company’s stated figure, not an independently reported battery test.

MSI Japan’s March 14, 2024 release separately lists up to seven hours of video playback and eight hours at idle under JEITA 3.0 conditions. These are different usage conditions from the “full workload” claim, so they should not be treated as results from a shared test or compared as if they were. MSI Japan’s release gives those regional figures.
