No announced return of GOG games to Amazon Luna has been verified. The premise is now outdated: selected GOG games were once playable through Luna, but Amazon ended its Bring Your Own Library feature and GOG access after June 10, 2026. Your GOG purchases remain in your GOG account; what ended was the option to stream them through Luna.
What happened to GOG games on Luna?
Amazon’s change was a shift away from third-party stores and library connections, not a loss of GOG game ownership. Amazon’s Luna notice says the service stopped offering game stores, individual game purchases, third-party subscriptions and Bring Your Own Library access beginning April 10, 2026. Previously purchased Luna titles and games played through linked third-party accounts remained playable only until June 10, 2026. GOG separately confirmed that date for its games on Luna and said GOG purchases would remain available through GOG.

From integration to discontinuation
- 2024: Luna added a way to play selected games bought on GOG. It was not support for every game in the GOG catalog; titles had to be compatible and participating.
- April 10, 2026: Amazon announced that Luna would discontinue third-party stores and Bring Your Own Library, including GOG, EA and Ubisoft access.
- June 10, 2026: Luna access to previously linked third-party games ended.
GOG’s former developer information about the Luna integration described an opt-in process for participating games. It also listed the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Italy among the supported territories at the time. Those historical details do not establish current availability.
What you still own—and what you can still play
Ending Luna access did not remove games from a user’s GOG account. Amazon directs affected customers to GOG Galaxy for GOG purchases. Depending on the game and your computer, you can install it locally through GOG Galaxy or use GOG’s available direct-download options. Check the game’s system requirements; a title that once streamed on Luna will not necessarily run on every device.

| How you got the game | What it means now |
|---|---|
| Bought from GOG | The purchase remains in your GOG account. Access it through GOG, not Luna streaming. |
| Redeemed a Prime Gaming GOG code | After redemption, the game is in your GOG account. A GOG code is not a Luna streaming entitlement. |
| Played a GOG title through Luna’s linked-library feature | The Luna streaming route ended after June 10, 2026. Check the linked GOG account for the game itself. |
| Bought a game directly through Luna | Amazon said a-la-carte purchases were playable on Luna only through June 10, 2026. This is distinct from any copy or entitlement held with a linked third-party store. |
Amazon continued to list downloadable PC games offered as GOG codes in its May 2026 Luna content update. That offer was separate from streaming a GOG library through Luna. The listed codes included Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Fruitbus, 60 Minutes to Extinction: Escape Room, Space Grunts, Palindrome Syndrome: Escape Room and Hot Brass. Redeeming a code on GOG does not by itself make a game streamable on Luna.
How to find your GOG games and recover Luna saves
- Sign in to the GOG account you connected to Luna and confirm the games appear in its library.
- Open GOG Galaxy, or check GOG’s direct-download options, then install the game on a compatible computer.
- Check Luna’s Settings page for downloadable save data. Amazon said affected saves would be available for 90 days after June 10, 2026; as of August 18, 2026, that stated window is still relevant, so check promptly.
- Back up any downloaded files before trying to import them. Test the save with the local GOG game, but do not assume it will be recognized or work correctly.
Amazon warns that compatibility with another service is not guaranteed. Saves can differ by game version, launcher or publisher, and downloading a file does not ensure that the GOG version will accept it.

Is Luna still useful if you own GOG games?
Not as a way to stream your existing GOG library. Amazon’s current direction emphasizes games included with Prime and Luna’s own subscription libraries. Amazon said Prime members could access an evolving library of more than 50 cloud-delivered games where Luna is available, alongside rotating downloadable PC offers. Catalogs and benefits can vary by country, and a title in Luna’s catalog is not necessarily the GOG version of that game.
If cloud gaming is your priority, check the specific game against a provider’s current supported-storefront policy before subscribing. Storefront support, game versions, save handling, device compatibility and regional availability can differ; there is no basis to assume that another service will automatically accept a GOG library or Luna save.

Could GOG support return to Luna?
It is possible for services to change their policies, but neither Amazon nor GOG has announced a restoration in the official notices available as of August 18, 2026. Treat older GOG Luna pages or a game that still appears in a cached Luna library as historical, not proof that streaming works. A new Amazon Luna support update or an official GOG announcement would be the relevant confirmation.
Amazon says Luna a-la-carte purchases are generally final, subject to its Digital Products Return Policy; the service change does not by itself establish a refund entitlement. Luna’s discontinuation of GOG access also does not establish that Luna itself is shutting down.
